Ah ok. Some of those old shows run together in my mind.

SD! was decent tonight, I enjoyed the main event. Taker and Batista can put on a good match, even if we have seen it a lot.

Wow..Take BDV out of the picture and Striker is demoted to jobber...Oh well, better him than any one else on ECW.

Is it me, or does Jericho get beat up each time he does the Highlight Reel? Maybe he should be the one hiring protection, not Chavo.

I was cruising WWE.com and they have a story about Palumbo and his chopper making. They have some pictures of a bike he made for Rey Mysterio, and I have to say that its awesome looking. Maybe he should do a quest apperance on that American Chopper TV show (If he hasn't already).

I bring this up beacuse I like it when WWE shows off some of the talent the wrestlers have outslde the ring. I don't know why exactly, but I just think ita nice to see that side of the wrestlers, them being themselves and doing what they enjoy other than what we normally see them do.

I thought Smackdown was very good last night. I enjoyed all of the matches (barring the womens which i never watch).

Hornswoggle's match was entertaining, Tommy/MVP was pretty nice as well, as was Matt's commentary. Big Show and Mark Henry didn't do too badly either. Chavo and Jamie Noble pulled out a very good match as well. Taker/Batista, although it's been done many times before, was as good as it was going to be.

Didn't like the anouncement for a rematch next week though. The results far to obvious. Maybe if Batista wasn't alreadt caught up in a fued...

Batista/Taker was a fucking DUD last night in my opinion. Double count out? That pissed me off BAD.

That's just keeping them strong, Taker is champ, Batista is a probable challenger once the thing with Edge is all said and done, I'm sure they expect Batista/Michaels to be a big draw for Backlash. It's free tv, that's when you do screwy finishes and stuff.

Yea but I was waiting on that match at the end of the night. I guess thats what I get for having really high expectations and expecting a PPV calibur match on tv. They started out great, too. They had a good match but the ending was kind of stale. I guess I shouldnt bitch because usually they just have a DQ cus of a run in so I guess at least they did something different this time.

Still, hbk/taker is looking like its gonna be really good. Next weeks Raw looks like its gonna be awesome as well.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2008-04-20 02:53:13

You really can't have high expectations at this point. Even SD! which has the strongest in ring product right now still isn't at the level that it could or should be. You also have to remember that in the end, they want you to buy PPV's, and when it isn't just automatic that everyone watching the tv show will get the pay show, it becomes even more important to keep matches that you could get people to pay for saved until PPV.

I'm looking forward to the KOTR tournament on Raw, and I really think they should make that the focus of the show. I just hope to they do what will be an awful political skit early and quick. It's going to suck, no two ways about it.

I at one point had who I thought was going to be in the tournament, but then it changed, so now I'm not sure who is in the KOTR. With three hours to fill we have the potential to see some really awesome matches.

Kennedy has been inactive for two straight weeks. I hope that he gets a surprise entrance and gets a deep run in the tournament. After all, the KOTR tourny is a good chance to re-establish him as an upper card.

Kennedy is a good choice as he could use the re-establishing. I wonder why he has been gone for so long?

Where is the push Carlito has been waiting for so long?
Maybe he could be the dark horse in the tournament.

I know Kennedy was doing a direct to DVD flick...maybe that's why he was gone? I can't remember if he was in the midst of filming it or it was soon gonna drop. Probably the former and that's why he's been gone. If he's available, I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to use him, but I'm not sure he should go all the way, the dude has definitely lost a lot of his initial luster to me.

As far as the political skit, I say just get a couple indy workers, do it as an opening type thing, and move on. Or just make up some joke on them about how they were too scared to show. But knowing WWE it will be long, boring, and promoted throughout the show to the point that that'll probably close it out and not the KOTR finals, thus somewhat diminishing the impact of that in favor of wretched "comedy". Prove me wrong WWE, PLEASE!!!!

I'm glad that Santino and Carlito are the #1 contenders for the tag titles, and I;d like them to win it. Mainly because the team of Holly and Rhondes isn't nearly as entertaining. Holly is the stronger of the two, both physically and with the crowd since he is a long time veteran who came back after several health issues. Rhodes...well.. He just hasn't done anything to impress me.

I say give the belts to Carlito and Santino.

Hiya; I'm typing this from the available comp at this place I go to every so often, although I'm going to start to go regularly, which means I have more chances to post around here. :P

JEFF FUCKED UP ON DRUGS AGAIN!?ONE!?ELEVEN!? Fucking moron..... And they got rid of Joey Styles? Big fucking surprise; it was probably Stephanie's idea.

I've missed TNA for a while; what's been happening over there? And what was up with Kurt basically disowning Karen? I missed that part from before.

I caught an episode on Bravo.
Some sort of cage match with two teams of five going at it. Very cool match, topped anything i've seen the WWE do for the past few weeks.

I really think CM Punk either needs the decisive win over Jericho right here, or he needs to be screwed out of the victory. They cannot do the Punk getting clean jobbed finish here.

I'll post thoughts at the conclusion of the match, but really, Punk should go all the way here. Especially since a Regal or a Finlay will make him look like a million bucks in the finals.

THEY'RE PUSHIN PUNK!!!! HE JUST CLEAN BEAT JERICHO!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSH!!!!

Ahem, good call by WWE here. The right guy absolutely won this match. If there is any doubt by the creative people that Punk will cash in and win, then he absolutely should win the KOTR so that if they go with the idea that he won't win the big belt, they will at least have firmly established him as a credible star who can run with the big dogs.

Hmm, only have a few complaints about Raw tonight. Khali and Horswoggle? I think Shelton should have been in the tournament at least. I was disapointed that Punk didn't win. Holding the briefcase in one hand and the ceptar in the other would have looked great. I don't know if Regal needed that win, I guess it could make him a more authoritative GM.

The rest of the show was great. The KOR matches were stellar. Jericho and Punk was my favorite match of the night. At least he reversed the lossfrom after WM. Cody Rhodes wasn't too bad either, I thought he pulled it off well. The main event could have been longer, ut I thought it was a great way to end the show.

I hope he will until his signature move, Regal Stretch, is still with him. Maybe a shot the WWE title? He can assign himself, he's the GM.

I am proud to admit that I teared up a little when I saw Regal win. I have been a fan of his since 1996 and he was the reason I got into Greco-Roman wrestling when I was in high school. Not only that but to see him go from junkie to clean and then get the biggest push in his career is inspiring, being a former user myself.

I dont like to get to serious when it comes to wrestling, but I will be a softie right now and say congrats, Regal. No matter what you'll always have a fan in me.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2008-04-22 08:30:27

Seems we have some mixed reactions on the outcome of the KOTR. I was totally shocked to see Regal win, and under normal circumstance would be very happy with this result. But on the other hand, CM Punk, the guy who has a world title shot in his future, lost. Sure he made it into the final round, and sure Regal had the easier matches to get there, but at the end of the night, the win/loss is all that matters.

From a booking standpoint, even if Punk ends up being the first guy to cash in the briefcase and lose, he still needs to be booked and viewed as if he is a threat to whoever is champion. If he is booked to be good, but not main event good, then no one will take him seriously enough to think he could pull off a big victory.

I'm all for a Regal push, I think he's amung the best pure wrestlers WWE has, but unless they really do give him a ME push, the win should have gone to Punk. I'd like to see Regal and Jericho revisit their fued, and fight over the IC title.

Who else died laughing when Obama stole the Rocks line? I know they all did, but his I found the funniest. That parody match was thankfully short, and I'm so glad Umaga crashed that party.

I agree with Outlaw. Sure, we can say that Regal had an easier path to the finals, but it doesn't change the fact that the KoTR was won by a part-time wrestler instead of by someone who could make WWE some money in the future.

I'm a huge Regal fan, but I'm pretty sure that there was some other way to push him without giving him the KoTR. Red, I have to disagree with you. Not only does Punk look weak, Y2J and Matt both look weak. They lost to a goy who once again, couldn't beat a guy that's not a full-time wrestler!

I don't even know why this surprises me, but once again... the WWE does something stupid with their young guys.
