Holy Crap! Not even an hour in and I'm already shocked! Matt Hardy attacks Orton in a move that totally makes senes, and Cryme Time of all people return! I hope it keep it up like this!

Wow I'm glad I caught the beginning of Raw.

Took me by surprise too. Also London and Kendrick won. When was the last time we saw that? Do you guys think Cryme Tyme belong on Raw? I think they might thrive a little more on SD.

Flair's retirement ceremony tonight is gonna be awesome!!! Yes, I checked out the spoiler.

Wow, so one night in and already they've proven that CM Punk just got lucky last night, that's brilliant WWE, really great booking right there. Unless this leads to a feud, and fuck, why would it? Jericho just beat the kid clean, this was just a dumb move to do with a guy that should be on his way up the ladder.

Let me start with, Thanks Ric Flair, for all the memories.
A truly great superstar retiring on this night (3/31/08).

And welcome back CRYME TYME!!!!!!!

Wow, so is the tag division being pushed again on Raw? I'm glad Londrick got to have a real match again, and show what they can do.
They need more heel teams though, I count three face teams, and then Cade and Murdoch.

And indeed it was. A very genuine heartfelt send-off for one of the greatest performers to ever step into the ring. Thank you Flair. Thank you.

Yeah I noticed that too. Seems very strange to have the guy who is going to get a world title shot down the line lose his first night after getting that case. The match was great, don't get me wrong, but Punk really should have won here. I'm not saying he has to go undefeated the entire time, but he still needs to look capable enough to be in that position.

Although Hardy lost last night, he was completly dominant throughout the match. I think it was good booking on WWE's part to allow Matt to come off looking strong as hell and very nearly getting the victory.

When Santino said "Snoopy the Dog" I couldn't stop laughing. Damn he's good at that messed up word thing he does.

Sorry about that PantyWipe, I'll make sure to post reactions the next day so as not to ruin anything for anyone.

hmm. Didn't think about that. Punk does need to be built up, but I was just hoping he would get some momentum sooner rather than later.
I agree with what you said about Jericho, I was in no way knocking him since he is a former world champion as well as the current IC champ. Getting a victory over him is not small feat.

Hey, also, what happened with Kendricks heel turn? That lasted long....

Aren't you glad it didn't? I don't think WWE would use him as a heel very well. I'd much rather see them as a team and getting title shots than getting jobbed to oblivion, as a team or in singles. The clean win over the tag champs is a step in the right direction for them.

At this point, thats above the ECW Championship, a belt Punk lost cleanly to Chavo Guerrero, who in turn lost it in 3 seconds. Jericho is also the guy who would be WWE Champion had it not been for JBLs' interference. Realistically speaking, Jericho is still a believable top tier guy who could be slipped back into the Main Event at any time.

I see what you're trying to say, but why not have Punk go out and have a quick squash against someone and highlight as the MITB winner. As Avie said, Punk came out looking like he won the MITB due to luck instead of skill. I will say this, I get the feeling that this thing between Jericho and Punk isn't over. It wouldn't surprise me to see Punk put the MITB briefcase on the line in a later match against Chris.

For what its worth, JR mentioned on commentary that they patched things up. As long as they're actually being used (And winning in what was a pretty good match) I'm happy.

Yes!!! My problem here is that Punk went out there, and worked the guy he beat (for lack of a better term) to get the briefcase, to then turn around and get beaten clean by that guy just screams "he got lucky, now we're reminding you who the real winner should have been". It's dumb. If they want to have a feud, why not have Jericho get a lucky win? Or they fight to a no contest, or hey, maybe Punk actually slips by and Jericho challenges him again at Backlash or something? I am not advocating having Jericho jobbed out here, or that Punk must never lose a match while he's mr. MITB or it'll screw him, but his first night out and he loses cleanly? That's just insanely stupid logic. Like pep said, if they weren't willing to have Punk go over Jericho, or have any finish other then a clean Jericho win, the match should never have happened.

As much as most of you love Punk, he is not ready to be a WHC or WWE champion yet given how terribly he has been booked in the C show ---- ECW. Sure Y2J does not the briefcase at this point of his career, but he is the guy who knows what he is doing once given the chance. Plus, if you are to bring someone back from a long absence, you have to give him a major push. I am all for the idea of taking the safe option and having Y2J recapture the briefcase.

A couple of questions:
1. Where was The Undertaker in the end of Ric Flair's farewell address. I understand that he is the "deadman". But he should still go out and give Flair an applause at least.
2. Why having Edge, the No.1 heel in the company leading the way in the end? It should be a face who led the superstars out. Terrible booking!

He came out after the show went off the air, as did Vince.

Fuck that! It was a moment to honor a true legend and it's not gonna make Edge a babyface or anything, and to be safe. they could have him run down Flair on Friday and say he only did it for the attention if they want to. I just feel like that's a moment where storylines don't matter.

You can't complain about Taker not breaking Kayfabe and then complain that Edge did. Taker has his image to uphold, and coming out to hug Flair on TV could damage his character, unlike Edge who like all the other heel wrestlers out there, would take little damage from giving an emotional send off to the best wrestler of all time.

That sounds like a very cool thing. I'm glad Flair got that segment. After all he has done it was the least they could do.

I ended up missing ECW last night, but I read the results. Looks like it was a missable show, but what did you guys think? I think it's kind of foolish to just have Punk make threats at Kane, or whoever will be holding thet ECW title and no one else. I just hope WWE has him make seveal threats to all the champions that they will have him to deal with in the future.

They may as well have Punk use MITB the challenge for the IC title. God knows it has more credibility than the ECW title.
The only bigger waste of the MITB would be dressing Punk as a woman and challenging Beth Phoenix.

Plus he'd lose.

I have to believe they still had the cameras rolling in the arena so they can include that on the next Flair DVD they'll put out in July. Personally, I don't think it'd hurt Taker's character to have been out there live, I think it was a segment that transcended kayfabe, but I respect his desire to keep his character portrayed as mysterious and not to human. He gets no heat from me, I'm just saying my feeling is he could have done it had he chose to and I don't think it would have been an issue for him.

The ME was solid if nothing else. The rest of the show was pretty shitty. Stevie jobbed to Knox again (Remember when Richards was getting over with the fans?), Colin got squashed by Big Show and that was it for the wrestling. We didn't even get our weekly dose of Kofi.

By the way, Punk didn't actually threaten Kane. In fact, he never mentioned why he interrupted Kane in the first place.

And perhaps I missed something, but....No mention of the thing with Batista staring dissaprovingly at Shawn Michaels? I mean, for one, it made me laugh and I believe that Batista should just stalk HBK all the time and stare at him from a distance. And two, this might mean a feud between HBK and Batista (With Batista turning heel, a change he needs), and one of the two changing brands.

I could easily see that working. Excellent idea!
Just watched Raw. Enjoyable show. Good to see Cryme Time back, London and Kendrick. Good old tag team wrestling. Punk/Jericho was a good, solid match. Punk put up a good effort and i don't see this loss harming him. Will be interesting to see where WWE go with him though. Big Show face turn? Yay.

The Flair segment was close to tear jerking. Bringing out all the people he had connections with (why was John Cena there?) and then every wrestler applauding him on the stage. Fuck kayface, how often does a legend like Flair retire? Saw the Taker segment as well. Definatley should have been on the main show. Like i said, fuck kayfabe for a moment like this.

ECW tomorrow night. Let the Kane era begin!

Me again. :P

I know before the last post that I hadn't been showing up in a while, but remember that I use my neighbor's comp to post here; I only use my dinosaur comp for what it can handle.......which isn't a lot.

My neighbor hasn't recorded TNA in a while, so I'm several weeks behind on it. I have been able to catch Kofi Kingston for the first time on ECW, though (and again on SD last week), and I'm already sold on the guy; he's got some crazy-ass moves, and he can really work the crowd about as well as Jeff Hardy. I'm almost certain he'll go places in this business - assuming he doesn't screw up, although that's to be said about anybody in this business these days.

Wow I'm glad I caught the beginning of Raw.

Wow, Matt Hardy not done with his revenge & CRYME TIME!?

I'm glad my neighbor taped it last night; CT was hilarious from the little I had seen of them *chuckles at them stealing D&D's car some time back*

I think some HBK vs. Batista matches could come off great. Shawn being the target for Batista's aggression would fit pretty well and they did a good job in playing that up on Monday. While I'm no big Batista fan, I do think he has enough skill to do some great matches with HBK.

Batista as a heel would be a good change of pace.

SD should be good tonight as we get to see the fallout for Edge, a returning Matt Hardy, and a title holding Taker. I'm looking forward to it.

Matt Hardy vs MVP for the U.S title is going to be amazing. Let the feud restart ALREADY!
Edge will probably use his rematch clause at Backlash and challenge Undertaker there. But I hope that Taker feuds with Big Show after he is done with Edge.

It's a shame that Big Show and Khali have to be enemies. They coul have a really good "Look how well we destroy tag teams" storyline going on.
Also, has anyone noticed WWE's policy on former TNA stars? TNA may take former WWE stars and give them the world title, but WWE takes TNA stars and makes them enhancement for their own wrestlers. They've had the Naturals and Matt Bentley jobbing in recent weeks.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2008-04-04 21:04:46

Ok, that HBK/Batista segment was great. But damn, WWE needs to use their post production of SD! better, editing off that loud jackass chanting HBK would have been really helpful to the segment.
