I expect to see a great promo from Ric Flair (Which could be his last on RAW). Other than that, I don't really know what we could expect.

Word going around is that once again SD and ECW talent will be on RAW, so I'm guessing we'll have some more inter-brand matches (Probably between the MITB participants). And although I know it won't happen, I'd like to see WWE continue on with the London/Kendrick angle from last week.

Hey, I want HBK to turn heel and super kick Ric Flair. HBK is so much better as a heel. Remember the late 1990's?
As for London and Kendrick. It saddens me that such apair of young talent is getting wasted and buried on RAW. Since Vince is not pushing them as a team, the best way is to have them feuding each other. At least we will have someone finally winning a match.

I wouldn't, with all due respect...they aren't on Mania. They aren't in a featured match at Mania. This is the go home week for WWE's biggest most expensive show of the year. Everything they do on these shows should be focused on pushing that, and making people want to buy said show. The feud with Londrick is something you pick up after Mania.

Pretty good show thus far, it feels like RAW has realized they need to do more to promote Mania, even if they're sticking with the standard ideas of "enemies as partners" and what not. Definitely this brand has been bad with pushing their end of the big show. I thought that Flair tribute package was absolutely great though.

And thus, the reason why I said it wasn't going to happen. I loved the build-up for WM on tonight's RAW, but why didn't they do this for the past month? It felt like, oh shit, WM is coming up let's just get everyone in there at the same time.

And with all due respect to Flair. I understand that it was possibly his last RAW match, I understand that they were in Flair Country, but did he really have to get the win over THE WWE CHAMPION, RANDY ORTON?? Seriously, WM is this week and they're protecting the likes of JBL but not the champ?

That just didn't make much sense. Then again, Orton has been made to look like a bitch all throughout his title run so it wouldn't make sense to change the pattern now.

By the way, that Flair promo is bar-none the promo of the year so far. If you call yourself a wrestling and you didn't like that promo, (Or the Flair tribute vid for that matter) go away, please.

1. Orton has been a bust as champ, so fuck him.

2. If it's Flair's last RAW, shouldn't they send him out with a win? Especially since his last match would be a loss? Also, if they AREN'T going to have Michaels beat Flair at Mania, they've just tricked a lot of people into absolutely believing Michaels will.

3. I don't think Orton was hurt at all here, and it's good they did it because now they can point to this when you look at Flair going over Kennedy, and especially going over MVP. There's no shame in losing to the guy who went on to make the WWE champion tap.

I thought that you were an Orton hater... :/
Heel champions have been booked as face challengers' bitches in recent years. There is no surprise. As for Ric Flair making Orton tap, my explanation is this: First of all, Show is protected for obvious reasons, (he would probably challege the WWE title by Summer Slam.) Umaga has been booked as a monster since his debut, so there is no way that he would tap out either. JBL could be the victim, but making a middle card tap out really does not look that impressive. Plus, having Finlay taking JBL out makes much more sense to their feud. With all of that being said, it left Orton to be the victim. Plus, what the creative did was to make Flair look superb and invicible so that it would be a major "shocker" when HBK beats him.

As for Ashley in the Playboy match. I don't even know what to say, except for this. A bad match just got a hell of a lot worse.

Raw was pretty good last night. That tag match between Jericho/Punk vs. MVP/Carlito was a fun one to watch. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Jericho and MVP will do on SD.

Is it sad (or strange) that the match I'm least intested in has smoking hot women in it? And I loves me some smoking hot women! Oh wait, that poser punk chick is in it....Now its even worse than it was before. I would have been ok with Beth in a title defense, but this match is garanteed to be the worst on the show.

Now that I think about it, other title defenses would have been nice too.. But both the IC and U.S. champs are in the MITB, as well as one of the tag champs. The Raw brand tag champs are probably going to show up in the battle royal. At least the ECW title is going to be defended.

I didn't mind Flair getting the win over Orton. Hey, in case you forgot, Flair's been a champ 16 times, so its not like he's never beaten a world champion before. Plus it's a great way to send him off from Raw if he is indeed going to lose at Mania.

What's so wrong about having Flair make the WWE champion tap out on what could possibly be the last time he will wrestle in Carolina?
It's his home crowd, the last week before wrestlemania, and maybe even the last win Flair will ever get in a match, whereas Orton has plenty of matches ahead of him.
Anyway, I don't think anyone thought Orton was going to retain at Wrestlemania even before Raw this week, so thsi doesn't hurt his reputation in any way.

The fact that Flair isn't going in the same match as Orton? It bothers me because once again, Orton (WHO I REPEAT... IS THE WWE CHAMP) was made to look like just another guy. It wasn't HHH nor Cena that took him out, it was Big Show a man that won't be in the WWE title match. Once again they made it look like its Cena vs HHH ft WWE Champion, Randy Orton.

Again, I'm all for Flair getting the win in SC, but why not use JBL or Umaga who are in matches that frankly, aren't anywhere near as important as the WWE title match?

Since this could be Flair's last week as a wrestler (And I have a hard time believing he'll hang them up for good), I thought it would be fitting to ask this..

What's everyone's favorite Flair moment, match or promo?

In terms of promo, its actually one line that he used when he wrestled as the Black Scorpion in 1990. It was directed at Sting and he said something like.. The four men you see here are only messengers, there is only one Black Scorpion, and it is I. Then he just started laughing. I remember watching it as a kid then re-watching it later and for some reason I liked that whole promo.

As far as matches... I've always loved his 2 out of 3 falls match against Steamboat (Though people usually praise the one from Wrestlewar 89) and his I Quit match agianst Terry Funk.

Ashley got pretty big boobs. That is all you NEED TO HAVE as a WWE diva in nowdays.
You said that Orton was booked just as another guy instead of the champion. I totally agree. It looks like that the WWE title belongs Cena forever, the only reason why Orton has the title is because Cena was hurt and he will get HIS title (which he never lost and will never lose cleanly) WHENEVER he wants. The original plan for WM was booked as HHH vs Cena II Orton just happens to be the lucky person who was thrown to the mix to make it a triple threat. Yes indeed, Orton is just booked as another guy. I am surprised that it took you THAT long to see that.

Me too, I think that might be the best thing to do with Jericho come draft time. Hand him to SD! and let him feud with some of the folks over there, there are so many guys I could see him having great matches with heel or face on that brand. Jericho for SD!! I'm starting the campaign here and now!!!

On a scale of 1-10? This match will be -3. There's NO ONE on the face side that is gonna be able to lead this garbage. Neither one of them can wrestle, and most likely, Beth will probably wind up re-injuring Trashley because she's such a fucking twig. I'm with Dave Scherer, I just hope this damn garbage is quick.

Now that I think about it, other title defenses would have been nice too.. But both the IC and U.S. champs are in the MITB, as well as one of the tag champs. The Raw brand tag champs are probably going to show up in the battle royal. At least the ECW title is going to be defended.

I'm starting to get to the point where I'm leaning towards that camp that says do away with the US title, the IC title, and the World tag titles, and just have the three major belts. Have the Women's belt and the WWE tag belts be defended across all shows, and there you go. There's far too many titles in the company and far too many of them don't matter. The fact that only three of them will be contested at the biggest show of the year says it better then I ever could.

I didn't mind Flair getting the win over Orton. Hey, in case you forgot, Flair's been a champ 16 times, so its not like he's never beaten a world champion before. Plus it's a great way to send him off from Raw if he is indeed going to lose at Mania.

Agreed. Is Flair getting old? Yes. Should Flair retire? God Yes. Is he still Ric Fucking Flair, perhaps the best overall performer in the history of this business, the guy that made more big stars then ANYONE? The guy who when you could find nothing good in WCW when you could shit on everything else, but you still had to say: "Yeah, they're trash, but dammit, they still got Flair"? YES YES YES. There's no shame for Orton to job to him, and the people won't remember it in a few months time anyway. Flair should be treated with reverence and respect as he prepares to cap a career that can never be duplicated. His promo last night was just great...plus, again, Orton isn't the big star they want him to be, so screw him, I would rather see Flair get that last great win at his expense. ESPECIALLY if he ISN'T going to lose at Mania, because WWE has now made it appear like there's not really any chance Michaels will be losing to him.

Favorite promo is easily from his return to WCW in 98, as he was speaking directly from the heart, and the crowd was eating it up. Never have I witnessed such a true and honest show of love and respect between a performer, his audience, and his colleagues, then I did that night. It was pure magic. With a tear drop in his eye...Ric Flair made me believe that there was still good in the business.

Favorite match is a bit harder to pin down. The I Quit with Funk was really great, they just tore it up. The steamboat stuff is good, but I think I'd have to go with the Funk I quit match. Or his cage match with Harley Race.

I hope Tommy gets in some decent offense against Chavo tonight. Chavo's going to win though.

Apparently the fear was they didn't have enough time to do it on the main show when they timed everything out. I love me a good battle royal too the whole idea of them "not having enough time" on the show scares me, because if it's like last year, it won't be because they want to add more time to matches, it'll be because they want more adverts and useless video packages added to the thing.

Most likely with SD. There is a rumor that one of the Raw writers and Killings do not get along so they decided that he should be on the other brand. Not sure if that has any truth (no pun intended) to it, but thats what has been said a few times. I would expect to see Killings sometime after Mania, maybe after they get through Backlash.

Sucks that they demoted that battle royal. It's like a slap in the face to all those guys who aren't on the main card, not just for ECW.

Young talent is best served to be on SD!. Just about every guy who looked like a star on SD! and then moved to RAW has been buried or completely rendered useless, where many a guy from RAW who was considered kind of useless got better once they were on SD!

I think the best bet with Killings is definitely to hold off on him till after Mania, probably even after Backlash maybe, actually, don't wait that long. Maybe Killings could be brought in as MVP's running buddy if they bring Hardy back and continue the MVP Jericho storyline. MVP would feel threatened with two babyfaces after him and could bring in Killings as backup. That took two seconds for me to come up with, so imagine what sort of horrible shit creative with weeks and weeks to do so will think up.

Couldn't agree more. Just look at London, Kendrick, Super Crazy, and a whole slew of others who got buried once they were put on Raw. If WWE is going to try something with Killings, SD is a good choice.

I'm going to miss SD tonight, so I'm going to go and read the spoilers.. Hope it ends up being a good one for those who watch it tonight.

Hey, in reading the spoiler it turns out that Killings had a dark match before the show, pinning Kenny D, whom I thought was either released or sent back to the developmental area.

Probably being shuttled back and forth. SD! was pretty good tonight, I'm glad too they finally did a video package to show people that the Taker/Edge feud is probably the only thing this year with real Wrestlemania worthy hype, as these guys have had a hatred for each other for months, and they did exactly what I said they should, first match up should happen on the big stage. Jericho/MVP was also good stuff.

I heard the Punk/Morrison match was great as well. The MITB match is going to be a show stealer. Still on the fence on who I think will win it though which is fine.

They are going to show the 24 man battle royal on wwe.com for free so in case you want to catch that, it starts at 6:30 pm. I'm looking at the picture and it looks like Val Venis is in it... Wow when was the last time he was on a PPV? At least three, maybe four years ago?
