Apparently MVP has qualified for the MITB. I guess that means Hardy/MVP won't be happening at Mania. The least we can hope for is Hardy interrupting the MITB and taking MVP out of the match. Plus that'd protect MVP.
I dunno if it's realistic to have Hardy return to TV this close to Mania to qualify in MITB or attack MVP.
I love the wrestling. Jon Cena better win or the world will end if he doesn't.

Thats very disappointing really. So not only are we denied a Hardy/MVP match, but now both the IC and US title are not going to be defended. My only hope is that they at least bring Hardy back soon to appear on tv or something. Root for his brother, cut a promo on MVP, something.
So tommorrow is a three hour Raw with WM re-matches. I wonder which one's we will see?

I'm hoping for TLCII ;)
I've looked at a few sites and none of them have mention of MVP being in the MITB. Where did you get that info from? As long he isn't officaly in the match there is still hope for a US title defense at Mania.

Yeah I just saw that.. Damn that sucks. Oh well at least we all know the MITB match is going to rock, the participants this year are all solid workers who can make some very exciting matches. Throw in a ladder and things get even better.

You made a great point here. As a multiple WHC and an already established wrestler, Batista does not need the U.S title. Without the title on the line, the feud between Hardy and MVP will take a nose dive in the ocean. However, unlike you, I am a bit more positive about MVP's chance of retaining this Friday. Here is what I think will happen. Matt Hardy will make a "surprise" return and cause a DQ finish when MVP appeared to have Batista beat. After the match, MVP will be mad at Matt Hardy for costing him a chance to pin Batista and the two will have a title match at WM.
As for Edge/Flair, I see HBK making the save when Edge and his cronies are beating the shit out of Flair and the the two will have a stare at each other to close the show. (the ref could be KO'd near the end so that HBK can break through the cage.)

It would be good to give him a chance to show his versatility. If MVP's good enough maybe they'll throw him and Hardy in a ladder match down the line.

Great point, this is an oppurtunity for MVP to show management and the crowd that he has real versatility in that ring. MVP is being pegged by everyone as a major star, the future. I'm not sold now that he in fact won't win this match, it appears Hardy is being positioned to feud with Jericho, and while yeah, MITB can be cashed in whenever, WWE may be looking to depush Hardy a bit, and give MVP the long push (like Kennedy was supposed to get). Or MVP is just there to be the guy that people think could take it from Hardy, which is really probably more likely. God knows nobody else in that match has been booked as having a hope in hell of winning it. I do hope this teaches Mr. Kennedy a lesson and makes him fire up his game, hell, I hope the opportunity makes everyone up their game, but with a guy like Shelton Benjamin who's always been consistent and able to shine when asked is never really given a chance to develop, it sure will discourage some.
Raw was good last night. That IC title match between Jeff and Jericho was the best match of the night. Jericho is now an 8 time IC champ. I don't think this hurts Jeff any, as it really positions him to kick more ass and win the MITB.
You know, we rag on Cena and the WWE a lot, but they do some very good work with charity's like Make-a-Wish. Cena granting 100 wishes? Thats both uplifting and admirable of him and the company he works for.

Goddamn it. I was wondering why the title went to Jericho without much fanfare. This explains it.
Hopefully Y2J will use the title to get the big push he's deserved since he returned, and hopefully Jeff will get clean of...whatever it was this time...and fucking stay clean.
Dammit, though. Fucking dammit.
That is why despite being INSANELY over, WWE has always been hesitant to pull the trigger on a Jeff Hardy title run.
Good going, Jeff. Way to prove everyone right, and its good to know that he's still the same irresponsible asshole he's always been.
Seriously, the man deserves a standing ovation based on stupidity alone.

This close to Mania too... Damn if it's not Kennedy, then it's Jeff.. This throws a hitch in the MITB match as I'm sure they won't let him compete in it now. So someone needs to take his place, both in spot and winning. This is not a good thing for Hardy's career. He was making such huge strides but now I don't think WWE will take that chance on him. Maybe Kennedy will be a two time winner after all.

Its times like these where I'm sure WWE would like to have a dude that doesn't do drugs (and is over with the fans) on their roster. You know, some sort of straight edge dude that doesn't drink, smoke or do any drugs.
TOO BAD THERE'S NO ONE LIKE THAT IN WWE!
This has been your sarcastic post of the day >_>
Wow, this makes Y2J's win over Hardy to get in the MITB logical, they could use that as a reason to pull him. If they even want to give a kayfabe reason.
I can't believe Jeff is so stupid though. Just look at how much effort Matt puts in, and what he gets out of it, then you have Jeff, who is a proven screw up, just comes in and surpasses him with ease.
Though congrats to the WWE for actually having the balls to announce a top contender's suspension.
Gotta agree with everybody here, Jeff is a fucking idiot, and WWE did the right thing now obviously in not putting the title on him, or positioning him to be in the top mix at Mania. Jeff is on his second violation, so that's 60 days out. I applaud WWE for testing now, and being willing to shuffle the Mania card (and most probably plans they had for the better part of a year) for the sake of making sure people inside and outside the company know the policy has teeth. Good on them, bad on Hardy, and I really hope he is happy to have once again blown his chances at being able to say he was WWE Champion before his career was all said and done. Look at Kennedy, and that's your future now Jeff.
Unless they add somebody incredibly over or pushed extremely well to MITB, MVP is walking out with that briefcase, it's as simple as that with the lineup they're fielding now.

I'd say Kennedy is most likely, considering he was the winner last year. I think it'd be too soon to give it to MVP, he needs more time to mature and naturally transition into the ME picture.
Is PWInsider down again?

Kennedy has been pretty ineffectual lately from my view, not on his way up at all, I guess the same could be said of MVP. But they could do the Kennedy angle for real with MVP, have him go the whole year and use it for a Mania title match.

Worked for me earlier when I downloaded Dave's hotline on Jeff. That situation just got VERY interesting. Gotta wait till that gets more publicly posted about though :)

See, now I don't see MVP winning because he has some unfinished business with Matt Hardy. My guess is that'll keep him busy for a couple of months. Kennedy has lost a lot of steam and I'm not sure that he's credible enough to win the MITB again.
Personally, I'll wait until all the participants are in before making a pick. If nothing else, Jeff's suspension at least made WM a bit more unpredictable.
Sorry to double post, but CM Punk vs Big Daddy V (WHO IS DEFINITELY NOT VISCERA AND/OR MABEL) in a MITB qualifying match.
Please don't do something stupid and have V win, WWE. PLEASE!
I don't think they'll de-push Punk that much. This could be an opportunity to undo a lot of damage done to him with a big MITB win.
Guys, there is no reason MVP would win this match and then immediately have to challenge for the belt. The stipulations clearly say that the winner has a guaranteed title opportunity from any point between winning it at Mania, and the next year's wrestlemania, MVP could wait an entire year to cash it in, which would allow WWE to build him up even more into a ME transition. Or it could be done with CM Punk, or Jericho, or Benjamin. There's a lot of good talent in the match, there really is. But I think WWE will most probably go with MVP here. Kennedy could flake out on 'em, Jericho is kind of a bust, I don't know that they're really behind Benjamin. I'd like to see Punk get it, and if it turns out he just completely can't hold up to it, switch the briefcase, or have him take the embarrassment of being the first guy to cash in and then lose. To me, the field looks like MVP or Punk, unless those last two spots are gonna be slam bang can't miss prospects. I do think the Hardy suspension will be a good thing for us as fans since we've now got a much less predictable MITB. But it does also mean the RAW main event picture will almost have to go in a direction now we're not all happy with.
Also, for those having problems with PWInsider, Dave posted this on the main site, I don't think it'd be breaking any rules to post it here for Heartbreak and Red:
Oy, what a day. I have been saying that a lot lately.
When we switched over from a Microsoft to Linux based site, we also changed web hosts. The new host put us on a server that couldn't handle our load, hence the problems of 10 days ago. We upgraded to a new server and are in the process of moving the sites to it.
Due to huge spikes in traffic today due to Jeff Hardy's suspension, we overloaded the old server, which houses the free version of PWInsider as well as the back up Elite site and the message board. We have the server back up now and are in the process of moving the free site to the new server, as well as the message board. To avoid overloading it again, we have temporarily disabled the backup Elite site because part of today's problems were caused by people using it instead of www.PWInsiderElite.com as the combined traffic shut down the server.
All Elite members, PLEASE use www.PWInsiderElite.com and not the back up site.
Thanks for your help and understanding.
I would probably put Burke into this match too, and probably Hardy to keep the MVP issue alive. I stick Burke in just so he gets the rub of being involved in such a high profile match, and it could maybe lead to he and Benjamin having some undercard feuding on ECW (I know, I know, expecting ECW to have any real sort of an undercard is like expecting God to show up on TV tomorrow. But hell, somebody has to turn face on that brand soon to challenge Chavo, unless the idea is Punk continuing to do clean jobs until he hooks the tights in match number 4,000,100,002 to win back the title for a week).
I know I said I'd wait to make a pick for the MITB.. But I'm going with Punk (Assuming that he does win tonight).
Kennedy: He's gotten some steam back after his suspenion. But he could pull a Jeff and fail another test making WWE look like idiots... Again!
MVP: Like Red said, he's probably still one year away from being a top contender. He could win the MITB and keep it for a year, but I still believe he'll feud with Matt after WM.
Jericho: He doesn't really need it and I see him actually defending the IC title from now on and making it relevant once again.
Shelton: He'll do his spots... That's about it. The WWE has been and always will be hesitant to push Shelton wheter its due to lack of mic skills or "laziness" in the ring.
Carlito: Basically the same as Shelton minus the part about the mic skills.
CM Punk (Assuming he makes it): Is he over? Yes. Good mic skills? Yes. A risk of failing a drug test? No.
We can all agree that Punk has done all he can in ECW and that he needs a change of scenery. Why not use the MITB to do just that?
And in a funny note... WWE.com has a poll asking which brand is best going into Wrestlemania. The choices are: RAW and SD. That's it. No ECW.

Thanks for posting that. I could've been waiting a while for the back-up site to come back online.
At 3/11/08 07:18 PM, The-Redangleprince wrote: Chris Jericho - He doesn't need it. Hes a big name with a cult following. He could believably be in the Main Event at any time. However, history has shown us that WWE likes to play it safe, so that may turn out to be in Jerichos' favor. The IC title hasn't been a problem for challengers in the past, so I don't see why it would be here.
Well, they played it safe with Edge after Kennedy got injured last year. Jeff's fuck up is similar to that, and Jericho would be a safe option.
MVP - The new lead favorite. I still think MVP needs about another year to believably reach that top tier, but with the 1 year stip, I think he could pull it off. Hes got the talent all the way around and if hes not at his prime, hes close. Now would be the time for him to step up.
You could apply the 1 year stip to Kennedy though, as he originally planned to do last year.
CM Punk - Hes got a qualifier tonight against BDV....I would say hes in. As for his chances to win, well, barely. Maybe if he hadn't lost, clean, to Chavo a few weeks back and quickly last night on Raw, his chances would be better.
His presence would still make the match better. Though it's not like a good performance by him would endear him much to the higher ups.
Punk just seems to get overlooked constantly like Benjamin and Carlito.
Matt Hardy - If Matt does come back for Mania, hes in this match to get to MVP. Will he win? I could see it....he'd be a dark horse for sure. He could win it and then he and MVP feud with both the briefcase and the US Title being on the line. That would make MVP want to face Matt and vice versa. They could even just switch the two by some nefarious booking (like the Euro-continental Triple threat match).
I want Matt to interfere in MITB, taking MVP and reigniting their feud. MVP would be kept strong there too.
Kane - There is no big man in the match yet. Out of all of them (Khali, Henry, BDV) Kane is definitely the most athletic, the most popular, and hes been around the longest. Plus, hes not doing anything else, so why not put him in there? Very little chance of winning, but having a power guy in there with a bunch of flyers and brawlers makes sense to me.
Kane would be a good addition.
ECW had it's highs and lows last night. Worst first: Stevie being made into a jobber again... Yeah it's Khali who has been billed as a uber powerhouse, but come on.. At least Richards is being put into a fued.
High point: The tag title match was fun as hell to watch. Colin got some decent offense in, and all involved really put on a great show. Big props to Morrison for the moonsault with the trashcan.
CM Punk has been entered into the MITB match. I think either he or MVP have the better shot at winning it.
We also found on that there will be a tri brand 24 person battle royal at Mania, with the winner to immidiatly face Chavo for the ECW Title. Not the best way to do it, but at least Chavo and the title will have a place on the show, as well as 24 guys who didn't have matches.
I think it's about time for Kofi to be put into a fued. It will probably happen after Mania, but the guy is ready for a storyline or something.

Interesting. I don't watch ECW, so this is news to me.
If Kane dosen't qualify for the MITB, i see him winning this and either beating Chavo, or beggining a fued with him.
Was always a fan of Battle Royal's as well. It'll be interesting to see who's put in it.
I say let Mr. Kennedy for MITB again. Remember the push he got last year before injure? He once said that he would cash in at WM 24 and become a champion. By booking him to win, it is going to give Kennedy momentum again which he has slowly lost since he joined the RAW roster. Also, now Hornswaggle is not Vince's "son". maybe there is a chance that the creative team can link that storyline to Kennedy and give him a nice push.
Hi everyone. I just recently bought the History of TNA: Year 1 DVD at HMV at Yorkdale earlier today. I'm planning on watching it tomorrow.
