Duh. Win the title back with hardly any resistance.

But the question, To whom? Randy Orton - and look to regain the title he never lost in the ring from a man who never beat him for it? Or will Cena look to conquer a different mountain and challenge an old foe, World Heavyweight Champion Edge, or a new kingpin, ECW Champion Chavo Guerrero, for a title he has never worn?

Wow...From what I have been reading there sure is a negative reaction to this ppv. Not a crowd pleasing night from looking at the results.
Edge and Flair were the only two to have wins that made senes. Flair keeps going till Mania, and Edge holds his title until either Batista or Taker get a shot at it. But the rest? I'll take a dq on Jericho since he did the damage to JBL, but thats about it.
Why the hell wasn't Matt Hardy there? WWE is stupid for not havng him there to mess with MVP.
Speaking of Hardy, it's disappointing that Jeff was unable to win the title. But after reading the rumble results I know why.
Punk got hit by everyone's finisher? Don't they reserve that for heels or people the crowd wants to see get beat up? Apparently WWE hates their mid-carders with a passion, no one moves up the ladder unless they say so, crowd reaction be damned and ignored. That goes for the winner too. Cena.
Now we all knew Orton was just holding it for Cena since their fued got cut short due to Cena getting hurt. It really should come as no suprise that they would do battle the moment Cena was ready to come back, and sure enough thats what happened. No doubt in my mind that Cena will win it back at
Mania.
I can't be part of it in saying I hate him because he wins all the time. if he lost all the time he would be a weak champion and would diminish the title so it makes sense for the champion of the WWE, whoever that may be, to win a lot. no, the reason why I'm against Cena is because the character is stale and doesn't interest me. He does the same damn thing all the time.
I think the best way to go for his character is to do a heel turn after Mania. See how a heel Cena with the belt works. It would at least be something different, and since he is getting booed anyway whay not right?

Blah. WWE should realise Cena's time off was healing his public image as well as his injury. Just when people were beginning to become less sick of him, they bring him back after an inhuman amount of time, with a swerve I don't think anyone enjoyed.
Is anyone else not looking forward to another Orton/Cena feud? Cena can definately have good matches when his opponents are somewhat decent, but Snoreton doesn't fit into that category in my opinion.
All we need is Batista going for the other title and we have a total shitfest Wrestlemania.

Captain Invincible probably faked the injure. It is CAPTAIN INVINCIBLE, you know...
Wait a second, I heard that there was going to be an EC match at NWO. From what I saw from the poster, Captain Invincible and HHH are not involved. So there might be a slim chance that Trips will challenge Captain Invincible for the WM spot since he was the last one out at NWO in a single's match. Given the fact that Trips own the backstage, there is 1% chance that he will beat Captain Invincible and take his WM spot. Barring that miracle, we are all dooooooooooooooooooooomed by Captain Invincible, AGAIN.

Why would Cena not win back his belt. It is in everyway his belt. In case you don't know what I am talking about, I mean the WWE title. That thing is disgusting and needs to go.
The creative team were so close to kicking their Cenaddiction, but then they relapsed. Sort of depressing.

One more thing. WWE dropped the ball with Jeff Hardy. He has been on fire since Survivor Series, and the fans are clearly crazy for him. Then he loses to Orton clean. Now Cena is back and Jeff will get lossed in the shuffle. Like said earlier, Cena can become very stale and fans start to lose interest. On the other hand there is Jeff, who has been keeping his performance fresh for almost ten years and gets the same amount of cheers if not more as Cena. There goes one great opportunity down the pipe.

Jeff could get a shot at Cena after Mania. Considering the momentum Jeff has I think it would be a natural for him to keep going. I just hope his loss last night didn't kill his push or anything.

Due to helping a friend tarp his crawlspace I missed all of Raw... I did hear that we are getting Cena vs Orton much sooner which may or may not mean Cena will be in the title picture at Mania.
So what happened, and what did you guys think of it?

Captain Invincible could not wait to get his hands on Orton, so their scheduled match now will occur at NWO. But I am not sure if he has put his RR spot on the line or not. The best we can hope is that the match will somehow end in a DQ finish. (10% of chance) Trips is already in the EC, assume that he wins, we can still get Trips vs Orton at Mania IF Captain Invincible puts his RR spot on the line and does not pin Orton at NWO. (5% of chance) Now let's hope for the best outcome and pray.

That's what I also I think in mind, Cena will regain his belt that he never loses. And, in my prediction he will regain it at the Mania. Hopefully. Yeah, Cena will kick Orton's ass out.

From what I understand Cena did use up his Mania spot to get the title shot at NWO. So the winner of the Elimination Chamber will go on to challenge the champion at WM. Since WWE has wanted to do an Orton vs. HHH Mania match for quite some time, it's a good chance it will be HHH walking out the winner. I just hope Jeff makes a damn good showing in that match, and if we are all lucky win the thing.
I just want to know how they will decide who will face Edge.

I think Cena beats Orton an NWO. HHH wins the Elimination Chamber, then Orton exercises his "rematch clause" making the WWE title match at WM a Triple Threat.
We'll likely see either a tourney or some other type of match to determine SD's number one Contender. Taker would probably win to set up Edge vs Taker.
I think Chavo will defend the ECW title at WM against Rey Mysterio (with Rey winning) since it ties into the whole Edge/Rey/Chavo/Vickie feud.
MVP will probably face Matt Hardy and they'll finally end that feud... And Ric Flair will face either Batista or Shawn Michaels at WM.
That's pretty much what my Wrestlemania card looks like right now, and it also has my predictions (for the time being anyways) about what will happen at NWO.
ECW was pretty good last night. That Kofi guy looks impressive. Dreamer makes the save for bandage man, which makes me think they will try to team up against Miz and Morrison.
Punk puts on a good match then suprises Chavo during his segment. It caught me off guard too, I mean I was expecting Punk to do something, but I didn't suspect he was already in the ring.

How can you possibly hate Cena this much when you like Captain Chinlock as much as you do?
At 1/30/08 09:41 AM, HeartbreakHoldout wrote: How can you possibly hate Cena this much when you like Captain Chinlock as much as you do?
I guess Chinlocks > Overcoming the odds.
Personaly, I prefer the guy who has busted his ass to get where he's at, instead of the dude that gets chance after chance because of his last name.
At 1/30/08 09:41 AM, HeartbreakHoldout wrote: How can you possibly hate Cena this much when you like Captain Chinlock as much as you do?
I did not start hating Cena until he became Captain Invincible. Sure Orton uses chinlock a lot, but doesn't Captain Invincible still use the same old five moves in all his matches over and over? ;)
With the way Captain Invincible is booked, I will not be surprised at all if Vince makes Taker being Cena's bitch at WM 25. If that is the case, I will be done watching WWE for good.
It's not so much that Cena is hated, it's just everyone got tired of him being "The Champ". He let his ego inflate, hence the boos' on monday.......
One more thing:
WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO LASHLEY??
At 1/31/08 12:32 AM, sixonenine wrote:WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO LASHLEY??

I'M BACK BITCHES!!!!
After a few days of staying away from all wrestling so I could watch the Rumble fresh last night I gotta tell you I have a few thoughts on this show:
1. Overall, it's a solid show. I'm not sure what everybody is bitching so hard about because with the exception of the rumble, you should have known every fucking finish to every fucking match (in terms of who would go over). That's not to say there weren't things I didn't like, but overall this was a real good show and I don't know how you can really feel ripped off here.
I enjoyed almost every match, MVP/Flair started things off very good, but I think it was an insanely stupid decision to have Flair win clean here. Look, I'm a fan of Natch's work and I believe he deserves one last run in the spotlight (just maybe not with a title belt) but when he's booked as having to cheat to get over all his other opponents, including William Regal who is now more or less seen as a Coach or Mcmahon level character and threat, it's insane that he can cleanly force perhaps the number 2 heel in the company to tap clean. I can understand they wanted Flair to look good in what might be his final Garden match, but this one just baffled me.
JBL/Jericho was easily the low point of the show and goddamn is that a sad comment on Jericho. This thing was more of an angle then a match, as they try to make us take Jericho seriously as a tough guy, but personally, I ain't buying it yet. I think what he probably really needs to sell that is to just destroy JBL, just give JBL the kind of ass whupping JBL gave him. Somebody go give these assholes some ECW tapes to see how to do that correctly. Please!!
Mysterio vs. Edge was great work, really was, I couldn't help but watch that finish and feel CM Punk needed that one on Friday, Rey didn't need to the whole interference deal I think as badly as Punk needed it. Rey is in that practically invincible spot that he could have done the clean job here, Punk needed the protection more. Really good match though still, and Edge continues to be an awesome heel.
Jeff and Orton. Strong work here, I'm not sure they ever really got it into the high gear bout that the hype promised, but it was strong. HATED THAT FINISH!! I sat there for a good two minutes with my mouth hanging open because I just couldn't fathom it. Maybe they think Jeff is teflon and will recover but goddamn I just didn't like that initially. I guess it can work from the whole "inches from victory" perspective, but boy what a risky move there.
Rumble was really great, yes there were flaws like the Finlay Hornswoggle non-eliminations, but this was just a well booked match top to bottom, and with the exception of the baffling burial of Shelton Benjamin, and my jokes about Cody Rhodes as a CAW (which had my pal cracking the fuck up) just about everybody got to look good here especially CM Punk and I'm hoping that the pop on Sunday maybe helped creative see something more in Dreamer. Although it could just be Dusty's respect for ECW and if you respect ECW then you have to respect all the sacrifices and ass breaking on Dreamer's part for that company. This was a solid match and the Cena surprise was interesting, although the finish kind of annoyed me because after Taker and Michaels went out I was hoping for somebody newer to step up.
With that said I hated the RAW angle. So now the Rumble winner can just cash the shot in at the next PPV? Bullshit! This was insanely dumb to me as it negates the match I paid 40 bucks (ok, 13 cause it was split three ways, but the point stands) to watch the night before, and makes me leery to plunk down money on a WWE show again because when you fuck with the stipulations of a match like the Rumble that since the "winner gets a title shot at Mania" stipulation was put in place has ALWAYS been uphold, I begin to wonder if it's worth caring about ANY stipulation match period. Dumb crap, especially because if I was WWE, I'd have Cena job clean to Orton at NWO, put Hardy over in the chamber, then put Hardy on top at Mania. Cena needs to stay away from the belt so some of the haters will actually pay attention to how hard he tries instead of constantly focusing on how he got so much so fast. Plus, you can build Hardy and have two tippity top faces instead of one. History shows that the company runs best when this is the case.
Also, not a fan of what will be announced as the way SD! will determine a #1 contender at NWO. I mean, the Cena angle still wins the WTF? award for me this week, but the SD! announcement is a close second. I'm sure WWE thinks they're creating intrigue heading towards Mania, but to me it's just hurting my interest and excitement level hardcore and making me think that the buyrate drop is making them look a little desperate.

I think it would be very interesting to see the two top faces go at it. Sometimes it sounds like teh fans cheer louder for Hardy. I would love to see the build up and who the fans side with. I'd love to see Hardy headline Mania too.

Seeing Avie mention CAWdy Rhodes... That's one wrestling fad I'm glad to see spread throughout the net.
Seriously, the guy has a DDT (JUST LIKE THE DEFAULT CAW!) as his finisher! Though I'm not sure if its the DDT 6 or DDT 7. Truth be told, I heard he earned a nice chunk of superstar points because of his outing in the Rumble.
I agree about Flair vs MVP... There was no need for MVP to lose the match clean to Flair. Why not have Matt Hardy do a run-in (Limp-In, maybe?) and distrct MVP? Matt wouldn't even have to hit Montell, just distract him.
Also agree about Jeff. It seems the WWE decided to go to their safety net with John Cena (And probably HHH) which is a damn shame. Not because I hate Cena, but because WWE had a chance to make another star, and they blew it. At this point in time we shouldn't be surprised when WWE does stupid stuff... But for some reason we still are.
