Its not Storm who is leaving, its Chris Harris. In fact, I believe it was made official earlier today.
It was, PWInsider confirmed that when his contract expires, Harris will be a free agent to go wherever he likes.
Here's an article I found rather interesting:
The Memphis Daily News is reporting today that Memphis wrestling promoter Corey Maclin has filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE for pulling Jerry Lawler from the match that Maclin had booked where The King would take on Hulk Hogan in Memphis, TN last year. Lawler had to pull out saying that his WWE announcer's contract wouldn't allow him to work the match since footage would be shot for Hogan's VH1 reality show. Of course, at that time Hogan and McMahon were not on good terms due to a falling out before WrestleMania over Hogan's worth to the show. Paul Wight took Lawler's place.
Maclin recently filed a claim for damages in Shelby County Circuit Court. He asserts that WWE violated section two of the federal Sherman Anti-Trust Act and also that McMahon used his influence with other wrestlers to keep them from working for Maclin, due to his feelings toward Hogan. There is no word what figure Maclin is seeking in damages.
I think it'll be fun to watch, and I believe Macklin is dead on in his assertions, but can he prove it to a court? WWE has expertly been able to skate by such things as they will no doubt claim that all their talent are "independent contractors" who can do what they like (except Lawler). Plus there's that tendency for courts to run with the whole "it's all fake, we don't want to seriously deal with wrestling stuff".
