so, in the end it was Big Daddy V that won the chase. Interesting.

I hate swerves, even more when its shitty swerves like this. I understand BDV has been booked as a beast, and I know he beat down Punk last week, but why not have him as Punk's next challenger? We had a chance to see Burke vs Punk again, a chance to see Dreamer vs Punk for what I believe would have been the first time, and its we get this.... Punk trying to drag a good match out of Big Daddy V.

Way to take a good idea (The Elimination Chase) and flush it completely down the toilet.

Val is somebody I hear they already feel will be office when he's done. So I think Val see's it as "in the end, I have a job forever, so I don't care about being on Heat forever". Plus, if he becomes an agent before his in ring time is done, he gets into a position to improve his situation on the card, ask Noble or Finlay about that.

I've got to be honest though, I voted for Carlito. I still want to see that guy in the main event.
Let me touch a bit on the Michaels-SAVE US correlation....

Agreed, on all points. In fact, IF Michaels is ready to return, I actually stick him on this show, give him the title and book on from there. Think about it, it's a great surprise for the audience, you know Michaels can carry that ball and drive business, and it gives you that ability to maybe slowly build a marquee match or series with Hunter and Michaels again, which elevates the title, and delivers some quality money making bouts as they try to develop the undercard more (which is another lesson they must learn from this situation).

Burke got beat like a bitch last month, Dreamer has been promoted as nothing in ECW, so why the hell NOT give the shot to V? He's the only viable god damn guy left!

If Punk's title run is going to work, he needs a strong heel to work against, V is a strong heel who is over at this point and has had his working shoes on of late. I got no problem with what they did honestly, much as I'd like to see Tommy get the shot for nostalgia, I'm not so naieve that I'd let that get in the way of recognizing something that might actually have a shot at drawing.

The initial draft was held live on the March 25, 2002 edition of RAW in State College, Pennsylvania. It was set up like a normal sports draft, in that each brand would take turns selecting wrestlers from the WWF roster. After the initial ten picks for each brand, the rest of roster was randomly assigned via a lottery, with each brand receiving a grand total of 30 wrestlers.

There were numerous exceptions, however. Triple H (Men's Champion), Jazz (Women's Champion), Chris Jericho (competing in a championship match), Stephanie McMahon (also competing in a championship match), and Steve Austin (contractual clause) could not be drafted. Billy and Chuck (the then Tag Team Champions) and the New World Order (McMahon request) could each be drafted as a group.

Yeah, Big Daddy V is the No. 1 Contender for Punk's ECW Title, what a shocking performance.

After three weeks of high-stakes contention in the Elimination Chase to No Mercy, it seemed like Tommy Dreamer had earned his ticket to an ECW Title opportunity. Suddenly, the final "surprise" championship chaser Big Daddy V barged his way into the competition at the command of ECW General Manager Armando Estrada and seized his ECW Championship Match against CM Punk at No Mercy.

Just one week after decimating the Straightedge Superstar live on ECW on Sci Fi, the gargantuan Superstar secured an arguably tainted opportunity at Punk's gold. Though many consider Big Daddy V the most dominant force in ECW history, the champion has certainly proven that he does not fear of the 500-pound monster. Punk respects the size and strength of Big Daddy V, but he will not be intimidated - especially when the ECW Championship is at stake.

Dreamer just can't seem to catch a break it seems. This is going to be a tough match for Punk, as I don't think he can do the GTS on BDV. At least not the normal way he does it. It will definatly be an interesting match.

I think, Cm Punk's match at No Mercy is his biggest match in his young carreer. He is fighting a 500-pound extreme giant, Big Daddy V.

At 10/2/07 04:42 PM, pepeatumi wrote: Its official... Cena needs surgery.

WWE champion John Cena was diagnosed with a complete tear of his right pectoral muscle today by Dr. James Andrews and is expected to be out 6-8 months following surgery. As first reported last night on PWInsider.com, Cena suffered the tear during a hiptoss spot in the Raw main event against the returning Ken Kennedy. That would put Cena back at the earliest in April (meaning he will miss Wrestlemania) and at the worst, June 2008.

John Cena will be stripped of the WWE championship with a new champion slated to be crowned this Sunday at the No Mercy PPV in Chicago.

Jericho vs Orton?

I think it'll be Trips vs. Orton. Orton comes out, and declares that he should be the champion because Cena can't defend it against him, then HHH comes out and brings up Shawn Michaels' injury yadayada.
But I think Cena's injury is a bad thing no matter what you think of him. Obviously, getting an injury is an awful thing, but also, with Cena out for at least 6 months, he's pretty much guaranteed the title on his return, and it'll be a whole new title reign, meaning he'll probably have it for another age.

You say that as if Punk will be given the chance to use a finishing move. I bet this will just be another unconvincing roll-up victory.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2007-10-03 10:48:14

I think CM Punk must use finish move more than 2 times for victory.

I'll agree here, because V beats the pants off Burke in the legitimacy category right now, though I definitely wished that they would have held up on the two meeting until AFTER No Mercy.

Not really? Hell, if Punk wants to beat Big Daddy V, all he has to do is run around the ring a couple of times until V is tired then pin him.. easy >_>

The fact is although Vis has been booked well, the fans still don't care for him. They do care for Dreamer which is why he gets cheered everytime he comes out, and why people root for him during his matches. In terms of BUSINESS, Dreamer vs Punk was the best option. The two biggest faces in the brand going at it, and like its been mentioned before, it could have been a passing of the torch moment from Dreamer to Punk.

Now we're going to get a match that will most likely be a bathroom break, and that will have little to no heat to it..

I'M NOT DONE!!!

I watched this match, and its the first time in a while that I marked out. I was genuinely surprised that Tommy won, and really happy.

Then of course, WWE takes the safe route and uses the big evil hoss against the generic face wrestler, instead of putting Dreamer in the match against Punk. I'm just so bored of WWE taking the same route over and over and over again. I actually like Big Daddy V, but this is now going to be such a generic, typical WWE match. "Oh my god! How can skinny little Punk overcome the monstrous Big Daddy V! He's teh doomed!!!!" Never saw that one before. And for once, I thought WWE might be doing something unique and different, but I guess I was wrong on that one.

Ya got me, WWE! All because you had to give us generic babyface vs monstous heel ONCE AGAIN!

Balls Mahoney and Stevie Richards are still around.

Sweet. Do they actually get airtime that doesn't consist of squash matches? I quit watching ECW months ago when they had their umpteenth title match between 2 WWF wrestlers that couldnt make it on the A show (Also because I stopped getting cable ;-D ). Other than RVD in the beginning I cant recall seeing them put the strap on ANYONE from the origional ECW.

.... I wasn't being serious, you know? And I still say V isn't all that over with the crowd, much less in comparison to Tommy Dreamer.

Other then RVD, no one from the real ECW has held the new incarnation of the belt.

I understand being pissed at the swerve, as they probably could have held off, done the match, let Punk get a win and moved on, but I dunno, I think they're probably better to book more bouts that aren't completely predictable. Dreamer passing the torch? What torch? Is there really any semblance of the old ECW left that could be bestowed on Punk? No, those fans have given up pretty much and RVD has stated numerous times since his release that Vince abandoned that audience early on. To the casual fan, Dreamer would be a job guy, Burke has been made to look like a job guy for the last few months. But that's the problem with this brand, they can't seem to push more then a few people at a time. At least with V you've got a guy who's been pushed and molded and it's not like the ECW title match will be a predictable as hell "maybe good match" on a PPV. Since I think there's a good possibility that V could be given the nod here.

Face it, the ECW is not booking Dreamer as a serious contender.
I would rather watching Punk square off against BDV in an unpredictable match than watching Punk deciamating Dreamer/Burke like everyone expects.

WPXI in Pittsburgh is reporting that TNA champion Kurt Angle was arrested last Friday in Moon Township, PA on a DUI charge. After getting a report of an erratic driver that matched Angle and his vehicle, police went to his home. The story stated that Angle admitted driving his car home from a local bar. They said that Angle failed a field sobriety test but refused a blood test. Angle was the charged with driving under the influence and careless driving.
