Gotch is different to me, here's a guy that lived a long full life and enjoyed the success and recognition the business brought him. That's WAY different then a list of folks, many of them did not get much beyond 40.

With Sylvan released, how long before TNA grabs him, Dupree, and Conway to be their next mid-card flavor of the month? The Bashams have already been used up.

Dupree has some gigs in Japan, so he won't be picked up anytime soon. As for Conway and Sylvan... I give it a month until they're in TNA.

And I'm glad I'm not watching RAW, I saw the spoilers and well.... It looked terrible. It seems Vince's plan to boost ratings is to completely phase out the wrestling part of RAW. Sad part is, ratings will probably continue to increase.

WWE just released another wrestler.

Source: Gerweck.net

WWE has released WWE developmental talent Shantelle Taylor, a Canadian diva that was at WWE television last week. WWE had plans for her at one time, as she was going to wear some sort of Catwoman type ring outfit. Taylor has been romantically linked to ECW superstar Mike Knox.

Raw was pretty good this week.. If you cut out the lame game show stuff they are doing.

I was looking at the dark matchstuff and it turns out D-lo Brown was the one there this time. I'd be happy if they gave D-lo another try.

wtf... Brian Adams being found dead is just chilling.

Just coming back from injury will make HHH a face be default, add in the fact that he was a face going out since the Dx thing was in full swing makes it tough to bring him back as a heel right off the bat. I have no doubts that he will turn heel once his fued with Booker is over.

I really liked RAW last night, and WWE did the SMART thing. They need to stop giving away so much wrestling and marquee wrestling at that for free if they want people to PAY for PPVs every month. Not using Triple H last night was also smart because while the MSG crowd was disappointed in not seeing the Game, you WILL get Triple H fans who will order SS all the more now because it'll be the first time we've seen the Game since he went on the shelf. I'm not saying the show was perfect, but it was very good, and it shows WWE may be headed in the right direction again.

Its obvious they're taking the Attitude Era approach. A small amount of wrestling on TV and a lot of entertaining segments. Granted, the performers/characters are different, but you can see the similarities.

It worked once and it gave RAW (Hell, the WWE) its highest ratings ever so I guess it could work again.

I know WWE wants and needs good ratings these days to keep their network partners happy, but they also have to make those 40 dollar PPV's seem worth it to people. Having less wrestling on the shows is a good way to do that, but nothing will make up for having compelling characters and feuds that people want to see and pay to watch.

WWE can't turn their problems around over night, this week and even last week to an extent they showed a willingness to change things up a little, and try a new direction. Let's see if it pays off.

Having Estrada named ECW GM was a shocker to me. I think he could play a great heel GM especially if he keeps interacting with the other wrestlers.

Ugh.. Two visera matches in one night. At least Stevie got another win to his name, even if it was via DQ.. After the match was done.. That knee to the face thing he did was pretty sweet, I'll give him that.

I had heard ECW creative wanted to use Armando, and this could be a good roll for him. Nice to see WWE get consistent and reinstall GM's for all brands again. One thing that stuck out to me in the report here is it seemed like they were doing a pretty decent job of moving some characters along and there was development to a degree beyond just Punk and Morrison. That's something the brand really needs to do, Punk and Morrison are the guys who are marquee for this troupe and could possibly be marquee elsewhere, but they can also create some solid undercard hands as well.

Some TNA news because... I don't know why >_>

Reports are brewing about TNA being in early talks to bring in Brock Lesnar. And Spike Dudley, Jerry Lynn, and both Bashams have been released. Matt Bentely's contract runs out in two weeks and it doesn't look like he will be resigned.

And Jerry Lynn looks like the singer from Nickelback!

My name is pepeatumi... But you already knew that!

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2007-08-16 01:55:31

I can confirm through my sources those talks with Lesnar are happening, Kurt Angle is working as something of a conduit between the two sides and it's expected if they agree to terms Lesnar would be used around when TNA goes to two hours. If Lesnar proves he really cares to work and help them, this could be huge for TNA.

I really haven't been paying close attention to TNA for a while, so I decided to go to their site. I was shocked to see that Kurt held each and every title. That upsets me more than anything else. I know Kuts good in the ring and all, but one title is plenty, does he really need to make it that much more difficult for the undercard?

Hiya! There's a lot of things I'd like to say about recent events, but this comp o' mine's making my post come up EXTREMELY slowly as I type it. >:( So, I will say only 4 things:

1) I actually caught this wek's ECW for a change.

2) I'm happy to hear Lesnar's name being mentioned again; I just wish it would be for the WWE so I could see him go up against Lashley - who's practically the 'new' Lesnar if you think about it.

3) FUCK & HUZZAH'S BACK! :P Last time I was here on a regular basis, you'd been gone for AT LEAST 50+ pages! Nice to see ya' again.

4) I may have a faster comp with Windows XP soon! If & when I get it, I'll be showin' up all the time. :P

I thought I'd just just drop by while I had the chance. :P

A great monster, somebody who should always be kept strong so that you can have a guy you want to be mega over beat him on the way to doing that. Basically, you make him kind of like your own Undertaker. He dosen't need a belt though really, you push this guy in the upper-mid, occassional main event. He won't carry your company though.

AJ Styles

AJ is a guy that should be tentpole for the X Division, and also a main eventer. Playing him as a comedic, dumb ass heel is just a complete waste of the guy. Tentpole X guy, main eventer when needed, though I see no reason why the X Division needs to be a step down. Russo needs to pull out his ECW tapes again and see how the TV champion was booked as equivalent to the TV champion throughout most of the company's run. No reason not to do the same with the X belt.

Andrew Martin

Can't see an upside here, never drawn money or really mattered beyond the feud with shane almost ten years ago.

Black Reign

Dustin and Goldust are done in my mind, unless they have something insanely new and captivating here, and so far it sounds like they don't, it's a spot that could go to someone else.

Chris Harris

No honest reason why the guy isn't a headliner or an upper card main eventer. Paid his dues, done what's been asked of him, fans love him. What's the problem TNA?

Christian Cage

Christian is fine where he is, the guy is a strong upper mid-carder, emergency main eventer, his title reign left some folks flat and maybe that proves Christian just isn't a top guy.

Eric Young

New feud, new direction, or he's just wasting air time.

James Storm

Good solid mid-card heel, keep him that way.

Jay Lethal

This guy should also be one of your top X guys, and that can be a very good slot if it's booked right.

Jeff Jarrett

Elevate the younger talents, should be the top babyface that the young heels have to get by on their way to the top. Stop building around him, he dosen't draw.

Kurt Angle

Kurt has too many belts now and he's being pushed far too hard. Kurt dosen't need a title to be over, he could be the legit badass, and his wrestling machine persona in ECW was great for him. Problem is Kurt is a mark for belts, and he's got the power to make sure things get built around him as does Jarrett. Kurt is a top guy without question, but he should be the guy who works with and helps build up some young guy with the title reign he's got currently.

Lance Hoyt

Means nothing, never really shown anything. Screw 'im.

Matt Morgan

WWE never really did anything with him, so this is a chance for TNA to appear smarter then WWE. Bring him up slow, see how far he can go, and maybe they'll get a nice surprise.

Mr. Backlund

Greatest work in history, or the guy is legit nuts. This could be another nice comedy feud for Eric Young, or maybe reminding people that Backlund was a WWWF champion 20 years ago and trying to push him as a psycho for someone to take down.

Pacman Jones

Worthless stunt, sucks, people don't care. Drop soon.

Petey FUCKIN Williams

Tentpole X guy.

Rhino

Upper mid to main event level guy, a great and credible monster, but has shown he can have more dimensions then that. Completely being wasted right now after being on the cusp of greatness only 2 years ago.

Robert Roode

Pull off tv, repackage, try again. He has not gotten this gimmick over, he's bottom wrung, and without a whole new character, he's totally screwed.

Ron Killings

Killings could be a real good X guy I think, can be entertaining on the mic, not someone to build anything around in case his unhappiness leads him to quit, but deserves better then being stuck into a program with Pacman.

Samoa Joe

Should be champion, should be the face of the company, but Angle and Jarrett will probably never let it happen till they're done having their fun. By that point though, it'll be too late.

Shark Boy

Lower tier X guy, maybe could even be teamed with Eric Young.

Sonjay Dutt

Lower tier X guy, someone who gets the push, and maybe the belt occassionally, very good promo, can have good matches. Best used with other X guys.

Sting

Great for helping TNA's licensing, has been a decent worker, has elevated some younger guys, continue to protect his image, while having him help elevate the younger guys.

Tomko

Fine where he is, big improvement over his WWE run. Best though I'd agree with Red as a bruiser and tag partner for Christian.

I'll comment on Red's tag team thoughts too soon I guess, lol

At 8/17/07 04:01 AM, The-Redangleprince wrote: Alex Shelly & Chris Sabin - Motor City Machine Guns

Here are two awesome workers with good characters put together and they should also draw awesomeness. I look at this tandem on paper and I see a team that could have that fun energy of Public Enemy (go track down some old ECW tapes if you don't know what I'm talking about) but could work circles around them. If I'm TNA, I'm building these guys up as my number 1 heel tandem at the moment and pitting the other face teams against them. Get these guys the belts soon, set up the parade of face challengers with appropriate time for them to work, and give them plenty of promo time. This could be be TNA's number 1 or 2 team if they want it to be.

BG James & Kip James - Vodoo Kin Mafia

This gimmick is so done. These guys were over 10 years ago and even on their last WWE reunion the schtick was getting tired. Neither guy is anything special, bump them down to per night deals and make them job guys to build up future teams. They are just a waste of time and resources when pushed.

Brother Devon & Brother Ray - Team 3D

Look, even if you don't like The Dudleyz (fuck you Vince, that's who they are) you have to admit that these guys are dependable workers. They always show up, they always give you a good effort (though Bubba is volatile). You put the belts on them, you will get good performances, I don't build my division around them as champions, but I keep them prominent because of their name value, and their effort. Like Red said, these are your placeholder guys when you gotta transition the titles or build up someone new, that's the best use of them for the money and the fact that they work limited dates.

Daniels, Skipper, & Senshi - xXx

These guys can be used to dominate both the tag division and the X Division. These guys should be your cocky heel "we're better athletes then everybody and we're killers" setup, they can be cycled in and out of prominence in both the tag and X Divisions, but right now like Red said, they are not off to a good start, let them kill off VKM for a little while and that could add some credibility to them.

Havok, Martyr, & Raven - Seretonin

I think you just have to scrap that whole deal at this point. Nobody seems to know how to make the Raven character shine outside of ECW, but TNA was close early on. I think you take these guys off TV now, do a rethink, and re-debut them strong.

Homicide & Hernandez - LAX

These guys are your top face draw team, and the opposite number to the MCMG's. The fans love these guys and they deliver, TNA just needs to go with it and give them a push.

Pacman Jones & Ron Killings - Team Pacman or whatever

Stunt. Gimmick. I refuse to discuss this seriously, make it stop!

Rick & Scott Steiner - The Steiner Brothers

I don't think this team is in any way permanent. Scott was pimping a new guy he'll be teaming with in the future, and Rick has built a life outside of the business now. I think they've had their last match with 3D and it's game over. If Rick does stick around, again, this is another veteran team you keep strong to get new young teams over on, showing those teams are rough and tough by putting over the Steiners legit rep for working stiff.

[b[Jay Lethal & Sonjay Dutt

This seems more like a pairing of guys TNA isn't sure what to do with then a legit team. I think your probably best to split them for now, let them help rebuild the X Division (and let's face it, both the tag and X Divisions will need a rebuild after being props to prove how great the headliners are) and if there's ever an idea for them as a tag team, or TNA needs to do something quick and quirky with the tag belts, here you go.

I totally saw that coming when I read that he was supposed to be there, ehehe. Stone Cold was big when I first got into wrestling, so I wouldn't mind him showing up for more than one show every blue moon, myself. ^_^

I wonder if this means Kennedy is out of the running for the illegitimate child now, as he wasn't even mentioned?

Just cuz they didn't mention anything about kennedy doesn't mean it isn't kennedy. I thought it was funny when Eugene came out. I wasn't expecting melina or steve austin to show up during that segment at all. If it's any individual... i'm sure he or she will get a big push.. most likely kennedy.. but because of the internet these days... they might just change their decision.

Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin - Motor City Machine Guns

I have to agree with Avie. These two should be the current tag champs in TNA. Shelley reminds me of Chris Jericho with his cockiness and his mic skills and Alex is also an incredible wrestler when given the chance. Sabin has stopped relying on high-flying as much and has become a better all-around wrestler. These two just have a chemistry with each other that is basically unmatched by a lot of tag-teams in wrestling. Yet two more guys being misused by TNA.

By the way, if anyone here gets a chance, watch their match against the Brisoces from ROH. Its easily one of the top five matches of the year so far, and a lot of people are calling it MOTY. I would post a link, but I don't know if I'm allowed to post it, If Avie could let me know that'd be cool.

It was...entertaining. It wasn't going to blow you away, but the hour and a half went by fast. Holyfield knocked out MVP, Punk and Boogey beat Morrison and Big Daddy V, Cena beat Carlito then got RKO'ed on a chair afterwards, and Batista and Kane beat FInlay and Khali in the opener.

We also had some more Vince stuff, including an appearance by Austin (we can rule him out as far as Vince's kid goes >_>) we can also rule out Melina and Eugene.

I would say its the best SNME since it came back, but that's not saying much.

Baby steps, WWE won't find that winning formula again overnight, but they absolutely can do some solid TV to keep their core base pleased while they do that. If they can't, it's time to put the blame for that where it belongs, and get a creative team that can deliver.
