So I was browsing on the ESPN site and I found this podcast

Its an interview Bill Simmons did (Who used to work in wrestling magazines in the past) and his guest was Dave Meltzer. Basically, they talk about the Benoit tagedy, where WWE goes from among other things. Its pretty long (about 50 minutes) but again, its worth listening to it. At least the people talking actualy know about the wrestling business.

I think Coach is supposed to be like a temp GM. Course with all the madness that goes on I might have forgotten if it was made offical or not.

I'm pretty sure it has been made official.

From what I understand this is basically WWE's first response to the frightening dip RAW has taken of late, returning Mr. Mcmahon to TV. Personally, I think it'll be maybe a one week bump as people may tune in on the idea that this show will probably inform them of where WWE goes from here, then they tune out if it isn't substantively better product. I am hearing Vince is FINALLY ready to listen to ideas that don't his cookie cutter vision of the business.

Also, Jeff Hardy was indeed suspended for a drug violation.

PWinsider is reporting that there were some problem with the Nielsen boxes, as it turns out RAW's rating might not be as low as originally thought.

Figures. Jeff falls back into lousy habits. People often ask which Hardy boy is more succesful. I still stand by my claim of Matt. While Jeff has the more exciting arsenal that he uses, he is not reliable outside of the ring. Matt has worked for wwe much longer and with the exception of the Lita/Edge thing has been reliable and works his ass off. Jeff may have gotten singles gold quicker than his brother, but at least Matt is around to contend for it and is consistent.

I dunno. I guess I'm just ranting. Any thoughts on the two?

I think that in terms of in-ring skill, Jeff is superior...however, yeah, he's unreliable and keeps getting into shit, so as a worker, Matt is definitely the better.

I'm curious as to what Vince will say...he's been silent on-air since the Benoit tragedy. Hopefully it'll be something new and interesting...

I'm still pissed that they canned the Vince McMahon Death storyline. Fuck Benoit. If he didn't kill himself, we would have saw the end of that storyline. Benoit fucked everything up.

As for TNA, I was hoping to find out who was under the ring last week. I say it was either the voodoo queen Roxxy Leveaux or Judas Mesias. TNA didn't really say anything about what was under the ring except for at the beginning of the show. It's almost like they don't care. Samoa Joe trying to strip Kurt Angle was a bit strange and really wasn't helpful to the storyline at all. Kurt Angle's wife was pointless too. I'm happy to see Test has a job in TNA. Maybe he can actually be put to good use rather then being a loser in WWE.

Jeff is the more daredevil performer of the two, therefore he gets more attention. He's like a young Sabu, but Matt is the better rounded performer as both a worker and an interview I think. It's a shame Jeff continues to get chances and pushes and money and then squanders it. WWE needs stars who want to be stars right now. A waste really.

Agreed SmarkMarkVideo is awesome, all my IWA-MS and Chikara needs, I don't like CZW though.
Their recent string of shows has been really good. Your boy Chucky T. wrestles for them now.
Nah that was just Best of the Best Tounament and If he is I could see him form a good team with Danny Havoc. I admit TOD this year was good, Zandig vs. Necro was amazing, but this year was kind of crappy, plus no Quackenbush, Super Dragon, El Genrico or Kevin Steen like 05 which was a great year for CZW.

The show before TOD was good as well. And their lineup this month is stacked. All of CZW's Top talent moves on at some point... look at guys like Sonjay and The Briscoes. They wouldn't be where they are now if it weren't for CZW in the sirt place. Same goes for everyone you mentioned. I guess there is bigger and better things, that's all, and it makes perfect sense.

It's tought to tell exactly what Vince will decide to do. He may get involved with something again or he may just give a speech and leave. Only one way to find out I guess.

I'm actually extremely curious as this will be his first REAL appearance since the McMahon death storyline. I can't wair for RAW.

My guess.... Vince is going to hog up no less than 20 minutes of air time which could be used to push some of talent on the RAW roster. You know, business as usual >_>

And I can't believe this.... Look who's at number 25!

He's Mikey Whipwreck 07, which I'm fine with, Stevie deserves a push as he's proven to be a good soldier, I think a feud with Big Daddy V when he's done with Boogey could be good for both men.

If thats what happens, all I can see is him getting squashed (in more ways than one) but hey at least wwe is actually giving him the time of day.

I think it'd be more interesting to do it as Stevie being able to get a win over the monster, in the end I think V probably should go over him a time or two to keep his heat, but frankly, there's more upside to Stevie then V, and you can get more from Stevie.

Apparently the low rating that Raw got had put everyone in the company in panic mode. There was a rumor of them even going as far as ending the brands and combining it again (really bad idea) so you know things must have been tense for a while. I expect tonights Raw will pull out all the stops. Or at least give some good matches to make up for the lousy show last week.

I know some of you were against the different brands and would be for a combined roster again, but if you look at their combined roster you can see that they have way too many people and could never show them all in one or two shows. Guys at the lower end would never get time and eventually be let go while others who were on the verge of getting to the top or at least climb the ladder a bit would be pushed back down as the current main event guys would need the time. So as it stands three brands will at least ensure that some of them will be employed and seen.

So the big plan for RAW tonight is the return of Vince, apparently head writer Brian Gerwitz has been pushing that they just continue the limo storyline now as planned. I'm off today and I may only check out the show if only to see if WWE is finally ready to make changes to the product to combat the low ratings.

Basically it was gonna be some kind of thing where Vince survived or it was faked or something, then Mr. Kennedy was supposed to get rub from Vince. Like I say, it WAS getting some ratings, but I think WWE should just have Vince make a joke about it then move on. It's not an angle that should be picked up at this point I feel.

Remember that great organization WCW? They did the same thing! It worked so well don't you know? Made them the kings of pro-wrestling....why build up anything new when you can take in guys who were mid-carders elsewhere and make them main eventers for you.

Its basically what Avie said. Who the hell wants to see Kazarian get pushed when his push can go to some talented wrestler like Test, or Tomko?

There's rumors going around about an Angle-Jarrett ME at Bound For Glory, so once again Samoa Joe is going to get looked over. His contract also runs out this year.... I'm guessing he'll be with WWE soon enough.

Well, Tomko has improved with the time he's spent in Japan. As for Test, he sucks, always has and always will.

Samoa Joe needs to do something, but I dunno if going to WWE will be much better for him. See what happened to CM Punk? Vinces philosphy is that you're not a superstar worthy of the championship unless you're WWE bred and made. Sadly, TNA is using the same philosphy.

Not for nothing... But Punk's been at the top of the heap in ECW for a while. There's a good chance he'll win the title at Summerslam. It might have been a slow build, but Punk's is now making his mark in WWE. I guess Joe would get a similar push.

I have a similar thought process as I can't even picture Punk with the title. ECW has too little heel contenders for them to have a face champion. Remember when Lashley had the title? They resorted to having guys like Kennedy get title shots and then it eventually ended with Mr. McMahon himself taking the title. I'm also tired of seeing the same finish every damn week. Seems like every week we see Elijah Burke get teh GTS landed on him and then being pinned by Punk. The only good thing about Punk winning the title would be a possible push for Burke and other guys like Miz or Cor Von (who is currently going to waste).

I'd be surprised to a degree if ECW continues past December, Sci Fi has things that outdraw it now, and they won't really be enamored with pissing off their hardcore audience with a wrestling product that isn't really getting them ratings. They don't care about ECW true, but like what was pointed out prior, it's a question of what do you think is better? Is it better for Punk to be the number 2 guy on the third brand, or is it better for him to go to RAW or SD! and jerk the curtain or be lost in the shuffle? I think he's probably better developing in ECW and being at the top of that limited heap. He's at least on TV weekly and pushed.

TNA has been treading water and looking like WWE for awhile though, the "Crash TV" approach to me dosen't work, and they've definitely been getting away from the wrestling, if they keep trying to out-WWE Vince, they'll just sink further in the toilet. Vince is the best there is at his form of wrestling, he's cornered the market on it, if you want to gain a foothold, find a way to be different.
