That's crazy, I can't even sleep at night. What will the WWE think of this? I mean they can't really admit that he was on steroids, but everyone would think that he's a phsyco. I've been in those situations where everything is just violence and chaos with heart breaking and commotion, so i should know.

That gives up my dream of being a wrestler

The wwe is already very disorginized, the fact that they just showed that Vince is still alive. I wonder how they'll deal w/ this.

On Saturday, June 23, Chris Benoit was slated to appear at a WWE live event in Beaumont, Texas. That afternoon, Benoit contacted WWE to inform them that his wife and child were ill, and that he would not be able to attend the show.

WWE executives rebooked Benoit’s flight for the following morning, allowing Benoit to miss the Beaumont event making alternate arrangements for him to attend the pay-per-view event in Houston on Sunday.

WWE employees attempted to confirm with Benoit his travel plans but were unable to contact him.

Early Sunday morning, between 3:51 and 3:58 a.m., Benoit sent five text messages to co-workers:

Text Message 1 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:53am)- Chris Benoit’s cell phone
“My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane, Fayetteville Georgia. 30215”

Text Message 2 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:53am)- Chris Benoit’s cell phone
“The dogs are in the enclosed pool area. Garage side door is open”

Text Message 3 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:54am)- Nancy Benoit’s cell phone
“My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane.
Fayetteville Georgia. 30215”

Text Message 4 to two co-workers (sent 6/24 at 3:55am)- Nancy Benoit’s cell phone
“My physical address is 130 Green Meadow Lane.
Fayetteville Georgia. 30215

Text Message 5 to one co-worker (sent 6/24 at 3:58am)- Nancy Benoit’s cell phone
“My address is 130 Green Meadow Lane. Fayetteville Georgia. 30215”

Throughout the day on Sunday, WWE made numerous attempts to contact Benoit both at home and at local hospitals in the Atlanta area. As of 11:00 p.m., WWE officials were unable to establish contact with Chris Benoit.

At 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 25, WWE officials were notified of the text messages sent to the co-workers the previous day. By 12:45 p.m., WWE had contacted Fayetteville County Sheriff’s office requesting they check on the Benoit family.

Fayetteville County Sheriffs office made contact with WWE at approximately 4:00 p.m. advising that they had entered the house of Chris Benoit and found three deceased bodies – an adult male, adult female and a male child. WWE was told that Benoit’s home was now considered a major crime scene.

The decision to cancel the live event scheduled in Corpus Christi that night was made between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. In keeping with company policy, and with limited knowledge regarding facts of the case, WWE choose to air a memorial dedicated to the career of Chris Benoit. As facts emerged surrounding the case, all tributes to Chris Benoit were removed both on-air and on WWE.com

Ok guys my dad knows some people in the wrestling industry.
Word is this all happened because of the draft. As you know each show has its own story lines. What you my not know is that each show has their own story writer. SmackDown! writer, Michael Hayes I think, wanted Benoit off SmackDown! he supposedly said "Benoit is a washed up has been". Apperently Benoit came down with a case of depression and snapped. Friday night he strangled Nancy. Saturday night he killed Daniel. Sunday night, the night he was supposed to win the ECW Championship, he hung himself in his basement.
Vince McMahon has stated that he apologises for last nights show and Chris Benoit will never be metioned again.

So WWE is out to erase Benoit from their records... Such a damn shame. Let his legacy before this tradgedy speak for itself. In the ring wrestlers become different people, let the wrestler Benoit remain.

Due to this nightmare, I think it's safe to assume that WWE won't induct him to the Hall of Fame for a long long time, if ever.

I dont know about that. Eddie went in the year he died. He died of heart failure from drug use. Kind of like suicide.

Eddie didn't kill anyone though.

The tragedy that Benoit is being wrased is almost as great as his death. There will hardly be a legacy to leave.

Well i understand now, i can't beleave he did this and i wish he didn't but *sigh* i guess that has to be that way. Even though he did that to his family, i will always respect him as a entertainer and wrestler, because he busted his ass to make us feel entertained, Chris, I will allways be a fan of yours all the time. I put my final salute to him, 1967-2007.

That's very true, it's like OJ. I mean, you can TRY and let his work speak for itself, but can anyone watch a football game where OJ set a record, or watch the naked gun movies and laugh the same way? No, because the accusation of what he did taints everything he did. I mean, the cops have no doubt Benoit did this, and it's a horrible, disgusting act. I don't think we'll ever know what drove him to it, but it just seems very clear this was something he planned, and that there was a lot going wrong for a long time.

I don't blame WWE for distancing themselves from him right now, and as it would appear from what Vince said on ECW, they will distance themselves from him forever, and again, I can't blame them. He committed a disgusting and heinous crime and WWE is a publicly traded company that dosen't deserve to catch shit, or be brought low by his actions. From what I heard Vince acted in the classiest of fashions throughout this whole ordeal, even telling guys at RAW they didn't have to stay if they didn't want to. WWE has done the best they can in this horrible horrible week. It just keeps getting more and more surreal, and as pep said, maybe it's time to try and go back to talking about wrestling, and try to take Vince's words about the healing beginning to heart. Don't let this incident ruin your love of the business, don't let it ruin your respect for the guys who bust their asses and do what they love to do for us, the fans. Let's all just try to heal and get through this.

I also saw a report on the homepage of sports. yahoo sayng that Benoit strangled his wife and suffocated his son to death before committing suicide. The report also says that it is the outcome of "steroid rage". Considering that Eddie's death is also drug related. Here is the bottom line --- DO NOT DO DRUGS, people!

In an attempt to change the subject, I have been watching the Ladder match DVD. A lot of these matches I've seen, but it's been so long since I saw them that is becomes almost like a first viewing again. I couldn't remember who won or some of the high spots so watching this dvd has been great.

WWE stated that it wasn't "roid rage" as there were bibles next to the bodies and elapsed time between the killings. Benoit also tested negative at his last drug screening on April 10th. Still, telling people not to do drugs is good advice.

But really... Did anyone catch ECW last night? Why can WWE do this more often? Let's make a wrestling show revolved around wrestling.

Sure, it was weird seeing Cena there until you realized... That his match against Nitro was a damn good one. And we got a 2 ou tof 3 falls match on free tv, something we don't get all that often. I'm hoping this isn't a one week deal, and reading the spoilers SD will be the same, just a lot of wrestling.

As for the ladder match DVD, I've yet to pick it up but I've been hearing its the best DVD WWE has released, so I'll probably buy it one of these days.

Yeah but I like the storylines and the only reason they aren't having any is because Benoit's killing spree ruined all of the storylines.

Looking at all the WWE shows right now the only possible storyline is the Nitro-Punk one. Maybe this can be a new begining for the WWE like a pheonix rising from the ashes... nah!

Yea, but the only thing wrong with that is the fact that the story was supposed to be Benoit-Punk. At Vengence the outcome was always supposed to be Punk losing. Benoit is the real ECW Champion forever end of story. Coments about Benoit will be no more so stop them now.
By the way I want in the crew.

Well there are still going to be comments about Benoit. The authorities are still not one hundred percent on everything.

As for the Ladder Match DVD, I'm thinking I will get it for my birthday, a few of my friends doubt the greatness of the Hardys. Are there any special features?

If there are any pro wrestlers by some chance reading this, let this be a lesson to you: Steroids are like any other illegal drug - they can turn good people bad in a matter of minutes. IT'S NOT FUCKING WORTH IT.

I can DEFINITELY blame steroids; they were found in his house, and he could've easily snapped being on them. From what I've heard, it does the basic same things that crack did to my dad - paranoia, depression & 'roid rage' (or in my dad's case, 'crack rage') - and, in that case, it's easily possible. Now it all comes down to what the tests say......unless they were already done & I don't know about it yet.

Man, this sucks.

I already explained how it is highly unlikely that he was on steroids especially since the steroids that they found were prescription.

Ummm...

He had steroids in his house. Prescription or not he could have taken them. Anna Nicole Smith, the idot she was, had tons of prescription drugs in her body that she should not have been on because she had a pharmasist friend that prescribed them to her. Benoit could have easily had the same deal going for him.

Just because it's prescription doesn't mean it's ok.

I bet you that when the tests come back they find steroids in his system among many other things to deal with the constant pain of putting his body on the line for a living.

Dude, how strict do you really think the WWE is about this stuff? They probably tell them to fill a cup in the bathroom and they use someone else's piss to pass as this goes on with MANY jobs. Hell, I wouldn't even doubt if they used a mail-in service to do it and they did it at their own leisure.

Somehow I doubt that the WWE actually watches them piss. The business has the policy in place to make people happy, but when it comes down to the tests I'm sure it's more of a turn your head the other way type of thing.

If you think everyone in the WWE uses their own urine and could pass a steroid test right now, you're crazy.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2007-06-28 01:14:41

WWE is a professional worldwide professional sports business and in the past, some wrestlers got in trouble for testing positive with steroids. They are lucky that they were prescription otherwise they could have gotten in a lot or trouble. Trust me, WWE is strict with this stuff because if they aren't, then they are just screwing themselves.

Yes, they have released people over steroids, but looking upon those people, they are people that weren't living up to their bill so I have a strong feeling they use the steroid claus a means to an end with no need to pay out a contract or because they cause some other type of trouble.

There wouldn't be a WWE without steroids, it's just a way of live. Eddie was on them for quite some time and you can spot it. So was HHH if he isn't still.

When grown men have clear skin normally, then they suddenly bulk up and their back starts to break out it's just about a sure bet they're on roids. Of course, not all people have that happen to them on roids, but it's a good way to tell who's doing them.

Not that I have found so far, but the DVD is worth getting. A few of these matches I haven't seen so this ended up being a good buy for me. Plus it was good to see the TLC matches again. I haven't seen the first one in a very long time and it was just as good as I remembered it to be. Damn those were good times for the tag division. Teams like Edge & Christian, The Dudleyz, and Hardyz who constantly worked their ass off made it all worth while and made those title have meaning. Not really the case today.

Man, I don't know what the fuck to think anymore - now the authorities are saying something different (I got the jist of it, but my comp was not taking the loading of the webpage well), and the way it happened, there's also the possibility that he was framed, if they find any other DNA evidence, so I'm just......something.......right now. I had just now read the article, and everything seems up in the air, and no one can currently seem to make up their mind. However, Vince shouldn't be disregarding him ENTIRELY now, just because of the circumstances; he should have everyone remember him for who he was. I know it's a little tricky, but no one's entirely sure yet. I dunno'; my head's all fuzzy from all this crap.
