Gosh, is Batista the only thing you talk about? Smackdown has quite a few wrestlers I hold in higher regard than Batista.
Sure, Batista is good, but you have people like Bobby Lashley bringing in a big pop for the fans, and Finlay and Regal as solid wrestlers to make the fued even better.
You have 2 cruiserweights in an actual fued, in Chavo and Rey. It could do with a better story, and a title on the line, but meh.
You have a semi-functional Tag-division, which can hardly be said for Raw, and some awesome Tag Champs.
You have Mrrrrrrrrrrr. Kennedy.... Kenneeddyy.
You got several solid wrestlers from the NTI, like Terkay and Burke. Even if Terkay is like some weird Kurt Angle/Samoa Joe hybrid.
And MVP should hopefully debut soon.
So there you go, Batista isn't the only thing bringing in the ratings for SD!
I must say though, I don't think I could come up with as many positives for Raw as I could for SD!
Just Jeff Hardy, and most of the IC contenders. And how could I forget the prospect of a continued DX/McMahon fued and a continued Cena/Edge fued.

Sorry for the double post, but I'd just like to express my happiness that Jeff Hardy has (hopefully) displaced Cena as a challenger for the belt. They'll be able to have some awesome matches, even maybe do some extreme matches.

So Foley got turned face and fired...hope they put him in ECW when he gets back. If they continue with the "Paul E. is out of control" line of doing things, Foley could be used as a nice counter balance, and they can bring up his "ECW hood" as a way to stand up for the originals.

Here's to hoping Sabu wins tommorow.

About Moore, I think this is a case of a double wrong. All the fans who are being absolute mother fuckers to the new guys coming in need to stop it. This is absolute bullshit and they are making the rest of us ECW fans look bad. But for Moore? Hey, you're a pro guy, if people heel you, you roll with it. You don't cry like a bitch about it, John Cena gets way worse shit then anyone, and love him or not, he sucks it right the fuck up and keeps on going, he has my respect for that. I can't blame Vince for rethinking Moore now, if he can't handle the crowd at a house show, how is he ever gonna be able to handle a live audience?

I had a feeling Jeff would have a scuffel with Edge tonight. He was on the ball tonight, he didn't miss any of his moves.

As of the Altoona house show tonight, Bob Holly and Matt Striker have officially joined the ECW brand to be mid-card heels. Holly made quite the impression in his debut as he knocked Balls Mahoney's tooth out...for real.

I don't see Holly neccessarily staying heel too long here, Striker...change his gimmick, or let him wrestle, or he will flop like a fart in church.

Did you get my PM aviewaskewed? On the Top 20 ECW matches of the 1990's list from DVDVR, The Malenko/Guerrero 2 out of 3 falls match isn't number one. The Raven & Stevie Richards vs Pitbulls 2 out of 3 falls Dog Collar match is number one. What's your opinion on this?

Spike.

You know when they were going to debut the new title design, I wanted something different. Instead what we got was pretty much the exact same thing but with a "Rated R" spinner in it. What a let-down.

It was good to see Jeff on Raw again, and the crowd seemed to share in this opinion.

Holly and Striker in ECW? Holly I could kinda see, he is one tough dude, but Striker I'm not sure about.

If you think about it, They pretty much didn't retire Cena's spinner belt.

Yeh. Do you think they still have the old design belt?

The one good thing JBL did as a main eventer was try to destroy Cena's belts.

Personally, I do not the Orton vs Carlito feud. Carlito is currently buried in the MC despite having ME level. If he win, he will get a huge push and probably come back to the ME screen. However, that means after losing to the old dinosaur Hogan, Orton will be completely buried in the MC jobber land. The last Orton won a feud was back in 2004, that was how terrible his booking is. If Orton happens to win the feud, he may find a way to inch back to the ME screen, but Carlito will be still be among the MC with the likes of Nitro which will not be cool. Insimple words: the feud is going to have some ME talent hurt, and I do not like it.

Do you watch SD, ECW, or TNA then? Which brand is your favorite, and who do you think is good in the ring?

While I sort of agree with you there, I also can't help but think that these two can have some really great matches. It could be that if they perfome well enough, then whoever "wins" the fued won't matter as much as the fact that they have further established themselves to be ME players.

It would probably be reaosnable to assume that Randy hasn't been pushed back to ME status because of his apparent behavioural problems. I'm sure Vince wouldn't like to make Randy the WWE Champion, only to have to punish or suspend him for doing something stupid backstage. And every time he fucks up, it just shows how little he acutally cares about the fans.

I have to agree with Outlaw about a Carlito-Orton feud... Those two could some good matches to the point that they can gain some steam in their WWE careers regardless of who wins and who loses.

A bit of ECW news...

The name of the 12/3 ECW PPV will be "The December to Dismember", a title used during the original Extreme Championship Wrestling's run for their December 1995 ECW Arena event in Philadelphia. That show was headlined by an "Ultimate Jeopardy" Steel Cage Match with Raven and Tommy Dreamer each captaining a team.

On 8/14, WWE filed for a trademark on the PPV title and announced it to their media affiliates earlier today.

The December to Dismember PPV would be the first stand alone (at least in name) PPV for the new ECW brand since it was launched after One Night Stand this past June.

At least in name? What the hell does that mean? There's not going to be Raw and Smackdown matches on an ECW PPV ? Right... Right?

And another question how can there be an ECW PPV if there's only one hour to build and further feuds?

Carlito is on an upswing, and Orton is once again fucked, just waiting to feud with Triple H after WWE is done with DX, where he'll probably just lose some more. This is why Dave Scherer has kind the verb "Ortoned" for a guy who gets totally fucked in the booking.

I think they put that match on DVD somewhere...or maybe I just downloaded it...I mean...what? >_> <_<

Anyway, good to see them using an old ECW name here. I hope they decide to do a February or March show and call it "Living Dangerously" it'd be nice to see them use as many of the familiar ECW PPV's as possible. There will sadly be no "November to Remember" though I'm sure.

The December to Dismember PPV would be the first stand alone (at least in name) PPV for the new ECW brand since it was launched after One Night Stand this past June.

I don't think they mean that, they're could be "inter-brand" like ONS, but I think what they mean is that this will be the first show featuring talents from the new ECW against each other. I assume all by themselves.

And another question how can there be an ECW PPV if there's only one hour to build and further feuds?

Jeez...guys, an hour of TV is not the end of the world, ECW built ALL their PPV's, except for the shows of beginning with Anarchy Rulz '99 through the November to Remember '00 with only an hour of TV. They just have to stop running filler bouts, and make all backstage segments effective. Plus they'll probably just book some "good work" kind of matches that will round things out. Simple as that.

Some more ECW news....

Looks like Kurt Angle will be out for quite a while...

Kurt Angle ended up not working a match at the ECW house show last night due to his groin injury. The original plan was to have him work a match to see his status. Word is that he was examined yesterday and told that it was a tear so he will likely be out for awhile.

A groin tear is one of the most painful injuries in sports.... and even when it heals up some of the pain still lingers so like I said it'll be a while before we see angle again... or not, I mean the guy's a freak (in a good way) so if anyone can come back from an injury earlier than expected its Angle.

December to dismember... sounds like a party...

I'm hoping for my "redface says" column to return in the fall with a reveiw of the SmackDown! vs. RAW 2007 video game. I just haven't formed a valid opinion on anything happening in wrestling to write about anything.

Well its pretty much official... Roadkill is going to RAW.

-- Due to Vince’s fondness of him, former ECW star Roadkill is going to be part of the RAW brand in the near future with a whole new look and gimmick.

Vince likes giving pushes to big guys... so maybe Roadkill will get the same treatment.... at least I hope so.

Also tonight's dark match at the Smackdown tapings involved.... a future ECW wrestler against a former ECW champion..

2 Cold Scorpio pinned Rene Dupree... Probably doesn't mean anything but I've been a fan of 2 Cold Scorpio since his WCW days so I figured I would post this.

My name is pepeatumi... But you already knew that!

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2006-08-22 20:39:22

2 Cold Scorpio is the most prolific ECW TV champion in history by the way, holding the belt a record 4 times. I would love to see him get a job with WWE again.

Sad as hell about Roadkill, but it explains why Danny Doring has worked house shows as a single with a new gimmick.
