Match 8: DX vs. Spirit Fingers

Now, here's a match! This was awesome, needless to say. I just have one issue with DX though. It's not even DX itself. It's the DX fans. They are so fucking annoying!!! The loudest ones at Hooters were constantly yammering on about DX and doing all things DX. I was ready to start administering beatdowns to these rejects.

Then comes Spirit Fingers...and I'll say one thing about them...at least they're not doing cheers anymore!

Before the match started, HBK and HHH decided to play a game of Rock Paper Scissors to figure out who goes first. HILARIOUS.

HBK starts. He starts out strong and decides to use one of the Spirit Fingers' face as a carpet. However, HBK was thrown by the Spirit Fingers corner and initiated huge slugfest.

After this, DX decided they had enough. They cleared out the ring of all Spirit Fingers. One of them had a nosebleed from getting thrown out of the ring. Awesome. Nosebleed boy then gets in the ring and produces a Karate Kid bandanna, which he ties around his head. He then does some stupid martial arts poses. Michaels, terrified for his life, runs away and tags HHH. He was not amused.

HHH comes in and stands there as nosebleed boy dances around for a minute displaying his mad martial arts moves. HHH decides he has enough and slugs the guy, flooring him instantly. As it turns out, nosebleed boy was NOT the chosen one.

A bit later, another Spirit Finger was Irish Whipped hard into the turnbuckle, turns around, and motions for a "time-out" to HHH. HHH decided not to comply and kick his ass with generic disregard for his health. After a while, HHH was worn down, though, and needed to tag in Shawn Michaels.

HBK had his way with the Spirit Fingers for a while, especially with the Atomic Drop. HBK was going to do the Sweet Chin Music on someone but was attacked. He then got a bad spin kick to his face and was apparently killed (you know how Shawn Michaels can sprawl out when hit).

Other highlights: Spirit Fingers used a trampoline to jump up in the air and Bulldog HBK through the air! HHH didn't like that and attacked the trampoline. HBK was rather dead at this point, but managed to same himself via a Double-DDT and just made the tag.

The match was eventually ended via a cooperative effort. A Spirit Finger managed to get himself trapped between HBK and HHH. Another Spirit Finger tried to save him, but HBK Superkicked him, while HHH Pedigreed the other Spirit Finger. They got the pin.

After, they did the same thing to two other Spirit Fingers, but didn't have enough. They decided they were going to mock Spirit Fingers and Vince McMahon at the same time. HBK locked up one Spirit Finger while HHH revealed his ass McMahon-style. HBK forced the Spirit Finger to kiss HHH's ass. Now, I didn't need to see HHH's ass, but it was still funny.

Vince came out after, mouthing "I'll be seeing you tomorrow night" just before fade to black. Ooh.

Result: DX def. Spirit Fingers

Conclusion

Not too bad. I'll take this PPV over pretty much any of last year's PPV's. Though, I have to make sure to do something for a friend...it's time for Redface's PPV awards!

I've been charged with awarding these...awards...for this PPV, since Redface won't be making a recap. here are the awards and the eplanations:

Redface Best Match of the Night Award - DX vs. Spirit Squad

It may be corny and expected, but this match was great. Excellent technical wrestling from both sides, and tons of humor as well. The "Karate Kid" segment in the middle really brought the whole DX attitude out and just provided the comic relief you expect from a bunch of fucking male cheerleaders.

Redface Brightest Star of the Night Award - Carlito

I chose Carlito because I feel like he was did a really damn good job tonight. It's tough to spot in a Triple Threat match, as there has to be the parts where one wrestler is dead so that they can "come in at the unexpected time." Carlito naturally had to do just that, but did it very well. His moves are getting better and better, and he's a fucking awesome at the acrobatic work. His backbreaker is awesome, and he's very ready for the main event. I certainly hope it's just a matter of time for Carlito.

That being said, good PPV, hope it was a good recap!

As usual, it was an excellent recap EagleRock and funny as hell. I had to laugh when you said you almost decked a Hooter's girl in celebration. The aftermath on RAW tonight should be interesting I hope.

I was 6 out of 8 in my predictions which are good. It is awesome that RO get the push he deserves, I am expecting him to go back to ME level before Summer Slam. However, there are two things that I do not like. 1. Giving Nitro the IC title does not make sense. We all want to see Carlito winning because he is 1000000 times cooler and better than Nitro. 2. Eage lost to RVD...I am fine with the resuly, but the fucking "John Cena" spinning belt makes nervous. It is almost a given that the belt will go back to its owner and it can happen on RAW tonight. Unless the belt is destroyed for good which I doubt it, Cena will get it back very soon. PS: I hate Cena and his fucking endless title reign.

kickass recap! It sucks that Nitro got the belt and not Carlito... I'm not against Nitro (yet) but I didn't think he was ready for a singles title push.

Isn't it funny? They talk so muc habout DX and Vince and then below it... Oh yeah we also have RVD vs Cena for the WWE title, no big deal.

Thanks for the compliment! And yes, Nitro is stupid for a singles title push. Carlito is ready. Unless they want to push Carlito for the WWE title (yeah, yeah, pipe dream), the decision made no sense.

On another note, my favorite Flair bleeding had to be when he had his head split open by someone (I forget who), then he got mad the next day, took off his bandage, and wiped blood all over his head. Awesome.

Sweet. I eluded to this above, but it makes sense. I had the right idea, but I ended up picking the wrong team to win. I knew they weren't letting this go.

Alright, A lot of people have been all talkin' bout Carlito should join the DX, and I can totally see DX pranks in Carlito's style. But I personally think that he's gonna have to win a title before they let him in there. Plus, I think HBK should get the IC/WWE title, or the TT title with HHH, what do you guys think?

Time for some ECW news... Let's start with Test?

Andrew "Test" Martin is being pushed because Paul Heyman thinks highly of him. Heyman, dating back to 1999, has always felt that Test had some untapped potential and that his career never got going because creative never gave him a shot.

There has been some talk of Justin Credible forming a tag team called the Impact Players with a new partner. Although, its not high on anyone's immediate priorities because there are so many other issues involving ECW at the moment.

Now I don't like Test but I like Justin Credible so if they team up it means airtime for Credible.

Sabu's attitude, which was considered to be WWE's biggest problem with him when signed, has been excellent so far. At his age, 41, he realizes that this is probably his last chance to make some big money in wrestling. His work with John Cena was better than anyone anticipated. Also, he's clicked well with the core talent that is willing to work with him. The feeling is that he's the top newcomer in the company.

How could WWE officials not expect his work with Cena to be great... Oh yeah WWE officials are idiots I guess I forgot that.. Damn! Sabu's 41 and he still does all those great moves now I respect him even more.

I'd like to see Carlito in DX. The whole "spit or swallow" thing works great with "suck it." Carlito is a good trouble maker, and I think would fit in great with DX.

Alright, Sorry Guys, But I missed the first half-hour, I'm gonna be a laughin tonight.

Well, it started off with torrie talking about play-boy, bu t then Edge got all pissed cause he wasn't WWE champ, and then it looks like Edge fucking quit Raw! Let's hope its not temporary. The crowd seemed to fucking love it, and then Edge yelled at the seller, and Edge took his shirts with Lita, and ditched the Arena, WTH!? I'll miss edge, But what the hell, He wan't doing much but being annoying.

Then subway brought us the slam of the week, which was when Cena FU'd Sabu into the Lumberjacks, and made Sabu tap with the STFU.

Then The lovely Maria talked to John Cena. Cena (Whom had a black eye) Made fun of edge, then whined about ECW, and Talked about his WWE championship match. Then Cena said he was all sexy n' stuff, and Cena is apparently going ro 'Take care o' Biznuzz'

Well, then we had Val Venis (Coming Back) With Viscera against Murdoch and someone came out. It started with Venis and Cade Cade got a slap on the neck, Venis got some chest slaps, then Cade got a tag, but did an atomic drop on Venis, then Murdoch got some cross face blows, but then we Saw Haas come down to the ring. And started talking with Lilian Garcia. We still had Cade and Murdoch wprking on Venis. then Viscera saw Haas talking to Lilian, then Venis tagged Viscera, and started kicking both there Asses. Then Hass gave Lilian a shoulder massage, then Visc went and saw Haas Kiss Lilian, but then Visc got a pissed off look, and tried to get Haas.

Then we saw Hulk Hogan's daughter, Brooke Hogan come out for the premeire video 'About Us'. Jerry 'The King' Lawler liked the video, so did orton. Then shane broke His daddys lamp.

Then Vince cam- HHH came out dressed as Vince, no doubt aDX prank. Then HHH talked about All the tims Vince got his asses kicked. And apparently Vince loves dicks, Small ones big ones long ones short ones, white ones black ones, asian ones, and Vince is going to fire anyone who gets between anyone and his dicks. Then Shane-o-m.... HBK came out and did his /Shane impression. Then Shane dropped his buisness card. And when Vince dies, Shane will get the whole Mcmahon empire. And Vince asked his son if he was retired. And when Vince dies, hes giving all his money to his daughter and her knocker. Then Vince talked about HHH's Baxooka. Then Shane danced, and Vince hit his own son. Then they showed Vince's dncing video. LAUGHT OUT FUCKING LOUD! Dear god I love DX, STAND BACK FOO! Then Hulk Hogan was shreddin on his guitar when.. Tje reall McMahons came out, and Vince tqlked about how he was gonna beat up DX, but then the SS came out. And vince, Shane, and the SS got blasted, BY SHIT BULLETS! Raw was so-so, but that dance video of Vince was damn funny. He sure did some stupid stuff then huh? Too bad him doing stupid things hasn't gone away.

Wem didn't get much in terms of matches, too much filler for my taste. Makes me wish I could watch ECW even more. I'm so freakin sick of filler (but Filler Bunny is awesome!... Don't ask.) How about some wrestling on the wrestling show for a change?!

Yes, It is a Women's match. Joshi Puroresu is 100 times better than WWE's Women's division which has talentless bimbos like Candice Michelle. The only talented women wrestlers in WWE are Trish Stratus, Mickie James, Victoria, Beth Phoenix, and Jillian Hall.

Uh, it still is page 464. If my post makes it 465, well, never mind that. But, yes I am in the process of watching those matches. Interesting, especially the "bring your own weapons" match. Hardcore heaven, is what it practically is. I'm putting that in my favorites.

As for RAW, the DX thing was the funniest and best part of the whole Dam show. (Pun intended) Now, the main event sucked ass. I said it before and I'll say it again; fuck you John Cena.

Now, what's this about Edge going ECW? I didnt see the first hour, but I heard about it. What's up with that?

Probably, but I'm getting sick of RVD simply wearing the ECW belt, and it never being defended, how about a little emphasis on the championship RVD is SUPPOSED to want above all others? I'm hearing not all the ECW guys were flown out this week do to not all being used, and budgetary concerns. Not bad, while I understand the purpose of having the "Paul E. addresses the troops" segments as a way to get guys on TV, but I'd rather they use that time to build up one or two of those same guys. One of the biggest problems with ECW right now is the lack of TV time, and the fact that I don't feel they've shown effective use of it to build some of the undercard guys up.

As far as Test goes...well, if anybody can make me give a shit about him, it's the mad genius Paul Heyman. I'll try to look at any pushing of Test like I look at everything else about the new ECW...with an open mind. I suggest you all try and do the same.

Also, I just got my Tommy Dreamer t-shirt today, remember, as part of their contracts all wrestlers get a cut of their merchandise sales, so if you'd like to support some of your favorites in ECW aside from buying PPV's their own, watching the TV show, and attending live events, buy yourself a shirt with their picture on it. Next on my list is the new Sandman shirt : )

Tonight on Sci Fi, things will only get tougher for WWE and ECW World Heavyweight Champion Rob Van Dam. Just two days after successfully defending his Championship against Edge at Vengeance, and a day after escaping RAW with the gold around his waist, RVD will face ECW’s Wrestling Machine Kurt Angle in non-title action tonight on Sci Fi.

Also, after Edge interfered on RVD’s behalf at RAW, the Rated-R Superstar speared the Champion. Afterwards, Edge told RVD, “I’ll see you tomorrow”.

What will happen when the two most popular Extremists square off for the first time in an ECW ring? What did Edge have in mind when he vowed to show up on Sci Fi? There’s only one way to find out, and that’s to tune in live tonight at 10/9 CT to ECW on Sci Fi.

Once again, ECW books a match that WRESTLING fans wants to see.

I would not be surprised if Vince gives the spinning belt to Cena any time soon. Knowing Vince, he would rather having Cena keep the belt than chasing it. In case Cena wins it back this Saturday, I doubt that Edge will take it away. If Vince wants to see Edge on the top, he would not screw him 3 weeks after his victory at NYR. I hate to say it, but expect another long and boring Cena reign if he wins the title back very soon.

Which will make me very unhappy indeed. I don't see why they can't give Edge a chance at being a top heel for a while. Let both guys have some fueds with other wrestlers and see where it goes. Remember in the game SD vs. Raw 2006 while playing GM mode that if you have the same two guys battle each other over and over the crowd will eventually hate it? Maybe wwe should really pay attention to stuff like that.

I have to agree with you there. If the TV and Tag titles were still around I probably wouldn't mind the fact that the ECW belt isn't mentioned much less defended but the fact is there is no more belts in ECW at the moment and they put some more emphasis on the ECW belt let RVD feud with someone from like I don't know Kurt Angle or maybe Sabu.

Test... I don't even know what to say its Test but Heyman says the he saw some untapped potential back when he was with the WWE personally I just saw a guy with no charisma and not that much wrestling talent but again I have to agree with yoy if there's anyone in the business that can upgrade Test from a piece of crap to a mediocre talent then its Paul Heyman but until I see Test doing osmething worthwhile I'm still not going to be a Test fan.

So the whole Imposter Kane angle seems to have ended last night...

Last night was the blow-off for the Imposter Kane (Drew Hankinson). This imposter will not be appearing on WWE programming anymore.

Why didn't they just let the real Kane kick imposter's ass at Vengeance and finish the angle there?

I despise edge for what he did on RAW last night, not that I want the belt to go to Cena, but RVD isn't doing anything with it, so he doesn't deserve it, And I think there bringing test on so they can get up some more belts, and in ECW belts will be easier to win because you;'ve got weapons, so even some weakling like test could get a cheap shot and win a belt, and they really only wan to give a belt to someone well known, right?

ECW Recap for June 27th, 2006 - "The Title"

Match 1 - Sabu vs. Roadkill

The match was practically started as the show came on...the match started right out with chairs and generic damage. For some reason, though, the match wasn't hitting me as interesting. Then, Roadkill went out of the ring to get a table, but ended up victim of Sabu's launch-from-the-chair spearlike attack through the air. Another fun spot was when Roadkill did a sort of backwards elbow-drop from the top rope. Then the chairs and tables came out, Roadkill getting Sabu between the two. The best spot, by far, was when Sabu did a facebuster to Roadkill with chair under leg, while Roadkill was bent over a table. After a Camel Clutch, several chair shots, and another Camel Clutch, Roadkill tapped.

Not a bad way to start a show, I'll give them that...keep in mind this all happened in about 5 minutes.

Result: Sabu def. Roadkill

Match 2 - Tommy Dreamer vs. WE-ELLL, IT'S THE BIG SHOW

Big Show basically beats the everloving shit out of Tommy Dreamer. That's about it.

Result: Big Show def. Tommy Dreamer

The Stripper that Fails at Stripping, Part III

Mr. Take-The-Stripper-Away is talking to this girl, saying the he love it when she strips, for HIM, not for others. He asked her to come to ringside during his match. Great. Let's solidify this slut-that-fails in the ECW roster.

Kurt Angle Confessions

This segment was hilarious. What made it funnier was you could audibly hear an ECW fan scream out "YOU SUCK" when Angle said he was failure.

Angle says he has failed since April 2nd, because he is no longer the champion and does not have the championship title. Since he's the greatest champion ever, he needs to be champion. After all, being a champion is what a champion like the Kurt Angle Champion needs to do. Kurt Angle the Champion needs to champion the championship, so he can hold the championship that signifies he's like a champion, just like the champion he really is. Therefore, Kurt Angle the Champion asks you to watch Mr. Champion to become the champion via the championship match for the championship belt to make the champion champion just like the champion Kurt Angle the Champion should be.

Champion.

Match 3 - The Guy Who's Dating The Stripper vs. Who Cares

Basically, this entire match wasn't supposed to be a match. It was supposed to be comic relief so that we can watch the girl try to strip behind her boyfriend's back. After a distraction or two, Little Miss Exhibitionist got a few ringside fans punches, and walked off to her happy little exhibitionist stage, much to the dislike of her boyfriend.

Okay, again, I don't care about strippers on ECW, but I have several problems with this. One the girl fails at taking off her own fucking bra. I can take a girl's bra off about 30 seconds faster than she could take off her own! There's a problem with that. Now, people make mistakes, so it's okay. However, do we really need to lace random stripping in with a stupid storyline with Mike Knox? I thought ECW was just plain beating the shit out of people. Now we have to be exposed to this vitriol show content?

Oh well.

Just What We Needed

Yes, I was complaining about the female stripper. For my sins, I was exposed to a fat ass male stripper. WHAT THE FUCK. There were only two good reasons for this. One, so Sandman could cane the shit out of him, and Two, so Tazz could make a crack at Michael Cole and the fatass chippendale going up to his room some night.

Needless to say, Sandman came out and Mr. Fatass stripped off his pants and started air-humping Sandman and stroking his cane. At first Sandman found this funny, but eventually decided it was time to beat the shit out of him. It looked like he really hit the guy hard, too, especially on the ass. That's gonna leave a mark!

Paul Heyman Is Getting Annoying

Match 4 - Kurt Angle vs. RVD for entrance into the Title Match at SNME

Tazz yaks with Edge for a bit before the match, basically signifying that Edge will get involved in the match.

Okay, I have to say something...I heard people chant "We Want Cena" in the audience. WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?

The match is pretty much what you'd expect from these two wrestlers. Suplexes and aerial attacks were flying all around. Angle was doing is technical game very well, wearing down RVD, while RVD was always playing his counters well, especially his uncanny ability to kick people in the face.

A fun spot to watch was when RVD tried to perform a Leaping Side Kick, but Angle grabbed the foot and put it right into an Angle Lock. RVD escaped by propelling him away from the ring by grabbing the ropes.

Another fun spot was a Rolling Thunder that missed and was put into a quickly-countered Angle Lock. Fun!

The match finally ended via a Five-Star Frog Splash to Angle, winning the match. Edge surprisingly didn't do anything and applauded RVD, then appeared to leave. After, Edge spears RVD from behind, makes out with the slut, then leaves. Because we care.

Conclusion

I have mixed feelings about this one. It was okay at parts, but some matches just were not interesting. After all, that one match was solely to promote the slut, and other matches were boring at times. I'm not as impressed as I was with last week, but I still give it thumbs up, as I'd say one hour of ECW is about as entertaining as two hours of your standard WWE show.
