Rey Mysterio beat Mark Henry. I am happy. Really happy.
Remember when Smackdown used to be better then RAW?
Seems they're making it suck on purpose now.

I'd like to see Jamie Noble and Kid Kash get a title shot. Both teams are great crusierweights and always entertain me when I watch.

I'm entirely unhappy with the naming of that team however. Out of respect for Anthony Durante's (Pitbull #2) memory, they should not use the name "The Pitbulls" just because they bought the trademark in the ECW sale, does NOT mean it should be applied to just anyone, it's bad taste.
As for SD! being made worse then RAW...you just noticed? Paul E. actually confirmed that a couple weeks back saying that at the point he was helming SD! WWE's mandate was that Smackdown! be inferior to RAW. Which is why I think they just need to limit the brand extension to RAW and ECW, since those are the only shows WWE really cares about at this point.

That has to be the dumbest thing i have ever heard. What kind of idiot would put on a show and tell all involved that you want them to be worse than your other show?! Only a complete moron would belittle their own product, especially when SD can make money and have kickass wrestlers on it. So what if Raw is supposed to be the "flagship" show, why not make both do the best as humanly possible. Damn Vince can be stupid.

Same here. I don't call it Friday Night Smackdown anymore...it never airs on Fridays anymore...

I agree with all of that, and it makes me worry what will happen if ECW ever challenges RAW for that "#1" spot. Would WWE allow it to continue? Or would they meddle with it and try to break it just enough so that RAW could regain it's footing? I sadly think it would probably be the latter.
Man, before Booker T won KOTR, he was an awesome heel. Now, he's hardly getting any mike time and his promo's suck. Bring back the cocky Booker, not one that says "Peasant" all the time. Also, Rey's title reign is tainted IMO. Him being dominated in previous weeks by the likes of Henry and Khali. He needs a plausable reign, he's the worst underdog champion in recollection. I mean, c'mon! They make it seem like Henry is the deserved champion. There also still plugging the Eddie Angle. GOD,LET IT DIE!

Meh...I have skipped SD! for a while by now. I knew that it would suck and everyone was counting the days for Batista to return. PS: Eagle, I have not seen your SD!/RAW recaps for a long time, please write them, they were funny as hell.

That is probably why SD sucks right now. They just do not get over with old stuffs easily. For example: Booker T has feuded with Lashley for a few months instead of challenging Rey for the world title. I guess that Vince is deliberately letting SD! die out so that it will be just 1 show for WWE.

Hey, DoD! I did do an ECW recap last Tuesday. I generally don't do SD! recaps if it is aired on Saturday here, because there's really no point. By then there's already recaps out there, unless people REALLY want to me make a recap for it. Note that it'd have to wait till Sunday morning, though.
However, I WILL be doing a recap for Vengeance, so keep an eye out for that.

Awesome, I'm not going to be able to watch it personally. Yours are quite close to the real thing :P
I will look forward to your review then.
Val Venis has returned from his injury and is back on Heat. Though to be honest I'm sure most of you didn't really notice him being gone.

Yeh, and he doesn't have a partner any more. Back to the singles for him.

Actually I did because I remember he was injured in a match against The Spirit Squad but from the looks of things his spot in Heat was reserved.

Well, that was a very appreciated compliment! I generally try to make the PPV recaps as detailed as possible, since many of us don't have the opportunity to see them. I am lucky in that I can get them for free with a meal at Hooters, so I rarely miss one, so I try to pass on the enjoyment. I am not so detailed with my other recaps, since most of us can see the ones on Network TV or Cable (except Outlaw88 with ECW...sorry about that.) Those I keep to a minimum...highlights of the match (if any) and my commentaries. Besides...others around here do a good job about the technical side of the matches.
I hate it when they do stuff like that. Give somebody a match or two on prime-time, recently, vs. Umaga, and then just shove them back into webshows, Little asses, and does anybody remember Muhammed something? He was actually supposed to win a title match against someone, but he got hit by an areal move, and he REALLY got injured, and was in too much pain to continue the match, then he got pissed off and puller the whole terrorist thing, then got fired. He went from (Planned) Champ to being fired.

I saw the article but didn't really read it. I can't wait until Burchill comes back though. I hope he keeps the gimick a little longer.

I'm watching smackdown right now, But from what I saw a few minutes ago, Do you think Vito and Ashley could hook up? I'm off to see when the next wrestling event is coming to my area...

I recall no such thing happening. In fact, Hassan wasn't "Fired', he actually wanted to leave the company to pursue acting. WWE got in relatively little trouble with the terrorist angle, and even continued (and concluded) it at last year's GAB.
P.S. When the HELL are they going to get around to the Lottery Draft?
Whenever they feel like it. I'm sure they are making some kind of plans with it, and are probably thinking on how to include ECW into the mix.

I honestly don't think they're doing it this year. I think the rebuilding of ECW, coupled with the fact that there really isn't anybody great on SD! for RAW to take at this point (oh come on, we all have figured out that's what these draft lotteries are about) they probably aren't going to bother with it. Plus, it looks like ECW WILL continue feuding with WWE post-Vengeance, as all three brands are confirmed for Saturday Night's Main Event. Guess Vince loves those extra ratings ECW gives him.
Results from the ECW Arena show that was held earlier today. All comments by me are in parenthese's unless otherwise noted:
There are no hard cameras but they do have a handheld camera. There are a lot of fans at the show. (Oh good, looks like they smartened up and decided to get footage of this to play on Tuesday's show. They'd have been retarded not to.)
They played a pre-paid message regarding WWE's proprietary rights. The fans chanted, "F*** you Vince." Ring announcer Justin Roberts was booed out of the venue when he came out. There are mats around ringside. (no surprise to me on any of these counts.)
The FBI vs. Danny Doring & Roadkill - FBI played babyface. Mamaluke did a flip senton to the floor on Doring. Roadkill dove off the top and hit his partner. Mamaluke scored the pin on Roadkill with a DDT. (That's surprising, as I thought the FBI were pretty well established as heels. I'd also like to point out that Doring and Roadkill were the last ECW tag champions, and are last time I checked still in possesion of the belts. It'd be smart for WWE to get them on the show soon, and bring the belts as well. Tag wrestling is something WWE lacks, and the ability to have continuity from the old ECW to the new in that division would help their credibility points I feel.)
CM Punk vs. Stevie Richards - Punk got a huge reaction and came out to his ROH music by AFI. Punk forced Richards to tap out in a really good competitive match. They shook hands after. Punk appeared to be bleeding from the ear. (I have been hearing for awhile Punk is going to be a big part of our new roster. I'm not really familiar with the guy, so I don't have much else to offer).
Francine won an extreme bikini contest over Kelly and Trinity. Kelly got in Francine's face and was shoved down. Francine and Trinity had a catfight. Trinity tried to moonsault off the top to the floor on Francine but missed. Francine went back after Kelly, and tried to take her top off. Mike Knox covered Kelly and laid out Francine. Balls Mahoney hit the ring for the save and a new match started..... (welcome back my Queen!!! Hope to see her debut on Sci-Fi real soon :). )
Mike Knox rolled up Balls Mahoney and scored the pin while holding Mahoney's pants after Mahoney missed a chairshot. Crowd didn't give Knox a chance and booed the hell out of the finish. (A shame, Mahoney is good, but honestly? Without Tanaka or Spike as a partner, the guy was basically just an entertaining jobber who would be trotted out for a pop for his sing along. Decent worker though. I think this is a situation where you have to understand the mentality of the crowd before judging Knox's abilities.)
Sabu defeated CW Anderson by submission with the Camel Clutch. Sabu put Anderson through a table with an Arabian Facebuster before the finish. (Great to see Anderson work. For those unfamiliar with him, CW was a fast rising rookie heel when ECW went down. He's very much in the mold of an Arn Andersson in terms of his good fundamentals, and intense promo skills. He uses a pretty wicked spinebuster as a finish.)
We are now at intermission.
Sandman pinned Justin Credible with the White Russian Legsweep in a Dueling Canes match. No Metallica for the entrance. Short. (That's just a shame. I'm all for getting Sandman over, but Justin could use some more match time. But considering the crowd was probably old school ECW fans, and the fact that it wasn't televised means it won't really hurt Credible.)
Paul Heyman came out. Some of the fan chanted "This show sucks." Heyman said that they had to make some compromises but the bottom line was ECW was back and they would beat the compromises in end. He said that he's waited 5 years to be back in the ECW Arena and that no matter what porno rejects and wannabes and losers ran here, ECW is back. He admitted Sandman's music sucked. There were two reactions from the crowd. Those who loved it and those who were trying to shout Heyman down. A fan tried to start a John Cena chant and was ripped by Heyman. Heyman pushed the July 4th taping and then introduced Tommy Dreamer. (That's smart booking there, if Paul E. can't sway them, then the no. 1 cheerleader for ECW should.)
Tommy Dreamer gave a speech talking about how his daughter was hurt today after falling but once the got the +" sign, his wife and family told him to go to the Arena because they knew how much the fans meant to him. Dreamer said that everyone who was here today, couldn't make it or was no longer able to be here were part of a family. He said they raised the bar for wrestling and everyone would have to work harder to do it again and show that ECW guys are the best in the world. (You tell 'em Tommy!!!!)
Dreamer said the fans in the Arena decide if you will make it in ECW and called out Big Show. They brawled around ringside and even into the bleachers. Show pressed and dropped Dreamer through a table to the floor for a two count. Dreamer came back and tried to hit the Spicoli Driver through a table but couldn't lift Show. Show chokeslammed him for the pin. Crowd hated Big Show including "Don't Come Back" chant. Dreamer got a nice ovation as he left. (Ah, ok, now it all makes sense. Tommy is going to try and do for Big Show what Mic Foley did for Tommy. He's going to try and make Show accepted by the hardcore ECW fans...good luck with that one, and personally I'm thinking repeatedly whipping Tommy is a bad way to accomplish that. They'll need to form a partnership in the end I think.)
The main event is Rob Van Dam vs. Kurt Angle with Dean Malenko as the special referee. Angle didn't get a big pop. Van Dam was greeted like the great Homecoming had taken place. They had a good match, with Van Dam getting the pin with the Five Star Frog Splash. Both worked really hard. (Good to hear, RVD was the right choice for initial champ, I just hope they put more emphasis on him defending the belt once he drops that spinning piece of shit tommorow night...yes, I said it, and what?)
I'll write much more about the show tomorrow. It wasn't terrible by any stretch but there was a vocal segment of fans who didn't want a WWE show, they wanted the old version of ECW and they vocalized that all night, even when Paul Heyman was addressing them. (Like everyone else...they have to accept that the old ECW is over, and that we can only hope the Mcmahoninized version gives us what we want.)
Good to see CM Punk get a nice ovation. I've said before and I'll say it again he's a great "wrestler" has mic skills which are just as good and he can adapt pretty much to any and every style. In my opinion it won't be long before CM Punk is one of the most popular wrestlers in ECW.
The crowd's reaction to Big Show is a damn shame. I always hate to hear about or see wrestlers getting so much heat because of the way they're booked (except for heels, of course, since that is their purpose). Cena, Mysterio, and now Big Show.

Your recaps are 100000 times funnier than those on WWE websites. What I miss the most was the Master scoreboard. Too bad he will be out for a while since he took steroids. Nevertheless, your recaps are hilarious.
