Why anyone truly expected Vince to just put a product on the air that was just going to be the old ECW is beyond me. Vince has always for better or for worse wanted a ton of imput in anything he puts on the air. It's admirable but they he wants to share in the blame for any bad shows (although I think it's more about getting credit for the good one's) but my opinion has always been, why hire writers if you aren't going to let them write?

Kurt Angle is still upset that management moved him down to ECW. However, he's being professional about it and will try to make it work.

I can't believe Angle is really all that upset to be part of the new ECW considering he came from SD! which is such a lame duck show, and even with guys like Batista coming back, I tend to agree with the feeling that many other folks have that in the end WWE will probably allow the deal with CW to be renewed (thus totally freeing them from Viacom) and will then try and split the talent between RAW and ECW, and get USA or Sci-Fi to give them another hour or two of programming so they can justify the salaries of these guys. I understand if Angle feels like it makes him look like a hypocrite, but so far I think it's been a great fit for Kurt.

Of course, I'm always a bit skeptical when I read about "how guys are feeling" because a lot of times these are the most bullshit stories that get out on the net since guys are naturally stepping on their peers any way they can to get ahead (just as a for example, if you ask say Tony Mamaluke about Kurt Angle's demeanor, Mamaluke has great reason to tell the internet "oh he hates it here, he hates ECW, and he hates it's fanbase" so that Angle's main event push is sabotaged and perhaps it helps Mamaluke get over more. Again, that's just a for example, it is in no way meant to be based on reality!)

But honestly, I feel like the show had one really bad week, and one pretty good week. It's too early I think to really feel like it's a failure or a success. Not to mention this just ISN'T the old ECW, that ECW ended in 2001 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas (or maybe you could say it ended with last year's ONS show), this is a WWE production. A third brand which is drawing on the history, talent, and legacy of a very popular promotion to help get it over, but it cannot be judged against the ECW of old. It's not fair to either show.

I saw it would need a full season to really get going in terms of what it going to do and what it is out to achieve. There is going to be some adjustments made as it goes, wrestlers are going to have to adapt to a WWE run ECW, and some wrestlers will need to be established for new and old fans alike.

The thing is if you think about it ECW hasn't had an actual show yet. Now what I mean by that is both ECW shows have revolved around the WWE-ECW angle so I'm guessing that after Vengeance then ECW will start looking more like ECW and less like WWE.

Hey, You know how at the Royal Rumble, they take 15 wrestler's from RAW and SD!, well, what are they going to do with the wrestler's from ECW? Either way, I gotta get started on my recap...

Well if you're not, I didn't read your post since you didn't read any of the thread, -Frank- abandoned this club years ago, and the member who was first to join who still posts here, Outlaw88, inducts new member's, and I can't wait to see what happens when you never post here again, especially with your massive 12 post count...

wow, after all this time Samoa Joe had the belt and he lost it like that? Scott is gonna get his ass kicked.

I thought Corrnet was retired. Never thought I would see him again. His promo's are still long as hell.

But I liked how they did they kept Samoa Joe's undefeated streak alive while giving Low-Ki (I refuse to call him Senshi) the X division title and it helps further the Joe-Steiner feud.

Well apparently he's not and I don't like the fact that he cut an 8 minute promo on a one hour show its just not a good idea.

And I was surprised apparently Spike Dudley tok a wrong turn somewhere backstage because I'm pretty sure I actually saw him in the ring... What's next is he actually going to wrestle a match?

LordKooler's TNA iMPACT! review
1.Jim Cornette segment
Jim Cornette, One of the greatest managers in the history of wrestling, Makes his first appearance on iMPACT! Jim Cornette cuts a promo on Jeff Jarrett and talks about his father Jerry Jarrett and Jeff Jarrett's grandmother. Cornette says that Jarrett's grandmother would be ashamed of Jeff Jarrett if she were still alive. Then after Cornette finishes his promo, Jeff Jarrett comes out and says, "I want my belt back!" Jarrett whines and complains like a little baby whenever he loses the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.
2.AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels vs The Diamonds in the Rough
AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels finally ended the reign of America's Most Wanted at Slammiversary. Styles & Daniels' first title defence is against the Diamonds in the Rough. AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels with help from the huge muscular woman that helped them win the Tag Team titles at Slammiversary. That huge muscular woman is named Jamie Dauncey. She was trained by Scott D'Amore, Joe E. Legend, and Petey Williams and got her start in Border City Wrestling. Like Chyna, Nicole Bass, and Shaniqua, She can wrestle men. Jamie D is one of the ugliest women I have ever seen. If she were to wrestle Chyna, Nicole Bass, and Shaniqua in a Fatal Four way, It would be one of the worst matches of all time.
3.Monty Brown vs Chasyn Rance
Monty Brown squashed Chasyn Rance at the end. After the match, Konnan asks Monty Brown if he wants to join the LAX. Why would Monty join the LAX? He isn't Latin American, He's African American. Then Ron Killings comes out and Konnan asks Killings if he wants to join the LAX. Killings hugs Konnan but Killings ends up getting attacked by the LAX!
4.Team 3D/James Gang brawl
It starts off with The James Gang & Team 3D dissing each other with the "Yo Momma" jokes. Then Brother Ray talks bad about Bob Armstrong & BG James' brothers Brad, Scott, and Steve. Brad Armstrong was one of the most misused wrestlers in the history of WCW. He was given horrible gimmicks like Badstreet, Arachniman, and Buzzkill and they made him get squashed by Goldberg at Superbrawl VIII in 1998. Then The James Gang and Team 3D get into a big brawl and then Brother Runt returns to TNA by attacking the James Gang.
5.Samoa Joe vs Sonjay Dutt vs Senshi (Low Ki)
Low Ki's first shot at the X Division title since returning to TNA as Senshi. During the match, Scott Steiner attacked Samoa Joe and Low Ki pinned Sonjay Dutt after the Ghetto Stomp to win the X Division championship for a second time. Now that Samoa Joe lost the X Division championship, He can move to the Heavyweight division and compete for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship!

Also I think pep raised a good point about ECW. It's difficult to gauge what the show is going to be like, and how everyone is going to get time and be pushed since right now the idea is to have this feud with WWE be an overarching way to bring in the ratings. That may change with next week's post-Vengeance show, or it may go as late as Summerslam. Not sure, I could see it going either way, but I think WWE has probably given ECW all the rub it needs for now, and it's time to let the guys who are "native" to that brand try to carry the show, with the WWE feud ready and waiting to be picked up again if the ECW crew can't carry things just yet (but most of these guys are all veterans, and I think they can do it, especially since the average age of ECW viewers seems to correspond with the idea that most of the audience are probably fans who watched the initial company's run). Like I say though, this week's show was good, and has me looking forward to next week, as opposed to last week's show which had me dreading another episode.

Now if you'll excuse me...I'm going to enjoy the episode of Superman The Animated series in which my favortie Green Lantern appears : )

Here is my final version of the predictions for Vengence:
1. Edge def RVD (The wwe title needs to be back on RAW.)
2. Cena def Sabu (Vince will not have his golden boy job twice in a row.)
3. Randy Orton def Angle (I expect the feud to continue, so Orton needs the win here.)
4. DX def Spirit Squad (SS, rest in piece.)
5. Umaga def Eugene (another squash match.)
6. Carlito wins the triple threat match (Another IC title run for Carlito, that's cool.)
7. Ric Flair def Mick Foley (The nature boy, wooooooo!)
8. Masked Kane def the real Kane (the real Kane is not doing anything anyway.)
Thoughts?

I never really liked ECW. It's not that I hate the rules and all, but WWE has better superstars(John Cena, Rey Mysterio, etc.) but I really wish Angle and RVD came back to WWE. I might be watching Vengence this Sunday, too.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2006-06-23 11:26:39

~ WWE Champion Rob Van Dam vs. Edge.
Rob Van Damn is the new champion, and the WWE needs to show they are willing to give ECW something from them. Then RVD can destroy that hideous belt and send its remains back to Raw. I think Raw can afford to go without its belt for a while: the Draft Lottery can't be too far away, and that could be a good time to make the belt multi-brand (then slowly make Smackdown fade into obscurity).
~ D-Generation X vs. Spirit Squad
Too obvious, there would be no plus side to letting Spirit Squad win. Unless DX get themselves disqualified.
~ John Cena vs. Sabu (Extreme Lumberjack Match)
Give the dog a bone. I guess he could do with getting back off of his ass with this match. And he's on home turf, no mean ECW fans.
~ IC Champ Shelton Benjamin vs. Carlito vs. Rubber Johhny
I like Carlito, he has a nice mean streak to go with his babyface. Maybe he'll win the title and become part of DX.

A girl can dream.

~ Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton
Has RKO won since he came back? I think he needs this to have any chance of being accepted as a main eventer. Then again, he got injured... Maybe could be a squash match, to prove Kurts dominance and punish Randy.
I'm stumped.
~ Mick Foley vs. Ric Flair
Flair is like the king of 'Two out of three falls', and Vengeance is in Charlotte right? Foley will just try to stink up the place like he said...
~ Kane vs. "Impostor Kane"
I say its gonna go to a no contest. This'll break down into insanity, as Kane's maches usually do in storylines like this.
~ Eugene vs. Umaga
Meh, filler. Eugene broke the drugs rules, Umaga is being pushed and is undefeated. 'Nuff Sed.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2006-06-23 11:38:50

I just think it's weird to see kane vs kane.. damn bizare.

I'm also rooting for Carlito, thought I don't know if he is DX material. It would be interesting to see I have to admit that. For all we know DX won't become a stable like it did before.

TNA allow their wrestlers to do other work at the same time, considering they aren't on the mega-wages of the WWE guys.

I don't watch TNA or know where it's held, but I'm guessing that, if its monthly, and since these guys have been saying that Spike isn't being used, that he go's to C2W and travels with TNA for the rest of the time, on his light schedule.

And through the miracle of Air Travel.

Becaue usually about two or three TNA shows are taped on the same day... The TNA show that will air next week and the week after that have already been taped so Spike only has to spend one day at the TNA tapings and then he can go to C2W.

It was a triple threat match between Joe, Low-Ki (or Senshi) and Sonjay Dutt. Scott Steiner knocked Samoa Joe out with a chair shot and Low-ki pinned Sonjay and since it was a triple threat match the champ (Samoa Joe) doesn't have to be pinned in order to lose the title.

I think carrying on Samoa Joe's unbeaten/pinned streak is quite a bad idea. The longer it carries on, the more he makes the others on the roster look poor, and at this part of his winning streak, it does nothing for Joe. It will just fizzle out, and all the planning will be for nothing.

LordKooler's Friday Night SmackDown! review
1.London & Kendrick vs The Mexicools
London & Kendrick won at the end. Then Super Crazy & Psicosis get into a fight. Looks like the Mexicools have finally broken up. Who will be the No.1 contenders to the Tag Team Championship? The Gymini? Kid Kash & Jamie Noble? or William Regal & Finlay?
2.Tatanka vs Simon Dean
The Great Khali does it again! During the match, Khali came out and attacked both Tatanka & Simon Dean. Then Khali mocked the Undertaker by doing the Undertaker's pin on Simon Dean. When Undertaker faces Khali at the Great American Bash, I hope the match is a buried alive match because I want the Undertaker to bury Khali alive so I can never see Giant Gonzalez Version 2 ever again! If WWE were to make The Great Khali World Heavyweight Champion, I'll stop watching WWE all together.
3.Finlay vs Gunner Scott
WWE should give Gunner Scott a push. He should be in the U.S. Title picture. Finlay won at the end. The Little Bastard tried to interfere in the match but Finlay tossed him back under the ring.
4.King Booker vs Lashley
William Regal's "All Hail King Booker!" chant is the most annoying chant ever. It makes me want to shoot him whenever he says it. King Booker won by DQ after Lashley started using a steel chair. Lashley & King Booker will wrestle in a Steel Cage next week. The match between King Booker & Lashley next week should'ive been a 200 Light Tubes death match, An Exploding Barbed wire exploding ring death match, An Exploding Barbed Wire Exploding Steel Cage Exploding ring death match, A Thumb Tack death match, Or a match like CZW's Cage of Death.
5.Ken Kennedy vs Funaki
Kennedy squashed Funaki at the end.
6.Rey Mysterio vs Mark Henry
Rey Mysterio won at the end to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
