Here's something interesting or stupid depending on how you look at it...

As noted, the 6/7 "WWE vs. ECW" special drew a final 3.1 cable rating and had WWE management very happy about the number. Speaking of WWE management, PWInsider.com is reporting that they felt a big reason the show drew the number it did was because of, get this, John Cena. It is no secret that despite the fan backlash, WWE is still very high on Cena and will be giving him credit anywhere they can take it. It will be very interesting to see what kind of a rating ECW starts with this Tuesday night on the Sci Fi Channel as it will be a better measure of the audience interested.

That's right it wasn't Rey-RVD or Sabu or Mick Foley's awesome promo or the real fists thrown by Lawler and Tazz or the Angle-Orton promo or even the battle royale it was JOHN CENA who made the ECW vs WWE show a success...

The entire match was pretty impressive. I thought the Mexicools were going to get a tag title shot, but Psicosis running from Khali may break up the team.

Would give super crazy all the more insentive to go to ECW though.

SD was pretty decent this week, some good matches and ECW hype.

LordKooler's Friday Night SmackDown! review
1.William Regal segment
William Regal comes out and tries to introduce King Booker. But Lashley came out and attacked Regal. Lashley did a good thing. He saved us from hearing William Regal's never ending "All Hail King Booker!" chant. Then Teddy Long came out and announces a Lashley vs Regal match for tonight's SmackDown!
2.Brian Kendrick vs Super Crazy
Paul London recently got a Staph infection in his arm. Will Paul London's staph infection be like Hardcore Holly's staph infection? Hardcore Holly's staph infection recently turned into MRSA. Hardcore Holly might lose his arm or die because of MRSA.
After the match, The Great Khali came out and attacked the cruiserweights. In TNA, Kevin Nash wants to destroy the X Division. But in WWE, The Great Khali wants to destroy SmackDown's Cruiserweight division. The Cruiserweight division went downhill in 2004 when WWE made Jacqueline & Chavo Classic hold the Cruiserweight Championship.
3.Nunzio vs Vito
The Vito cross dressing angle is one of the stupidest storylines in the history of the WWE. Vito won with the Fagetaboutit at the end. The Fagetaboutit was Johnny Stamboli's finisher. But Stamboli's Fagetaboutit is a Gorilla Press Powerslam while Vito's Fagetaboutit is a Spinning lifting DDT. Vito should dress up like Sailor Moon next week.
4.Summer Kickoff Bikini Contest
SmackDown first Bikini contest since last year when the Rookie Divas were around. Michelle McCool is the only Rookie Diva that is still on SmackDown. Michelle McCool refused to disrobe because she said that teachers get no respect. Ashley won the bikini contest. Michelle McCool should go to RAW and become Matt Striker's manager. Who has a better School teacher gimmick? Matt Striker or Michelle McCool?
5.Mark Henry vs Local independant guy
Mark Henry squashed him at the end.
6.Lashley vs William Regal
King Booker watched the match from his throne. Lashley won by count out.
7.Ken Kennedy vs Scotty 2 Hotty
Mr. Kennedy is back. I hope WWE gives him a big push because SmackDown's roster is shrinking and they have already lost Randy Orton to RAW and Kurt Angle to ECW. Kennedy won with the Kenton Bomb. The Kenton Bomb is Kennedy's version of the Swanton Bomb.
8.Rey Mysterio vs Finlay
Before the match, Tazz answered Jerry Lawler's challenge at One night Stand 2. Then Tazz says that he's going home to ECW. Paul Heyman gives Tazz a big hug. With Tazz gone, Who will be Michael Cole's new commentary partner? Will it be Josh Matthews or Steve Romero? Rey Mysterio came out and Paul Heyman asks Mysterio if he wants to join ECW. Rey Mysterio turns down Heyman's offer and Mysterio will stay on SmackDown. During the Finlay vs Mysterio match, Finlay won with help from Sabu. Then after the match Sabu attacks Mysterio!

It's been a while since I've been here. But before any of this, I'm glad that ECW is coming back.

I pledge allegiance to the wrestlers of ECW, and to the violence for which we demand. One promotion, under Tod, politically incorrect, with broken tables and barbed wire for all.

I can't wait for ONS. I'm a big fan of Sabu, Terry Funk, and Tommy Dreamer. Those guys are going to give ONS a good name than last year's ONS. Good thing there isn't any "Anti-ECW" storyline shit this time.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2006-06-10 05:56:54

ONS2 predictions:
1. Cena def RVD (I hate to say this, but that is what Vince is going to do. Cena took a beat this Monday and we all know what it means.)
2. Rey def Sabu (Rey is supposed to hold the title until Batista comes back.)
3. Randy Orton def Kurt Angle (The match can go either way, but I have seen Orton jobbing enough, he needs the win here more than Angle does.)
4. Dreamer/Funk def Edge/Foley (ECW legends are ECW legends.)
5. Tazz def Lawler (I don't care who wins, say Tazz.)
What do you think?

I found this on WWE.com, take what you want from it:

"ECW Going Global
May 26, 2006

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has big plans for ECW. In fact, in a Friday afternoon interview with WWE.com, McMahon revealed, “We are taking the ECW brand global.”

Going worldwide with the likes of Paul Heyman, Tommy Dreamer and Sabu, however, is miles away from where ECW was prior to its closing in 2001. In fact, stationed out of Philadelphia, many looked at ECW as just a northeastern wrestling promotion. But the recently re-launched ECW will not have much of a struggle making an impact both here in the United States and overseas. In fact, according to Mr. McMahon, ECW already has plans for its own Merchandising and Licensing, International Sales, consistent Live Event schedule, as well as its own set of pay-per-views.

But with so much of WWE’s global enterprise behind it, can ECW be expected to be the same ECW it was when it developed its cult-like following in the late 1990s and early 2000s?

“We will bring forward many of the more legendary characters of ECW’s past,” said McMahon regarding today’s ECW. “But it can’t be the same. That’s pretty much impossible. It’s now five years later. A lot of the performers now have five more years under their belt, and the ECW style has taken a great deal out of them. This is something that the ECW audience already realizes. They know that if ECW was still in business today, they would be very different from what they were five years ago.”

While the re-launched ECW will undoubtedly be different from the original ECW, McMahon is adamant that the brand will not stop pushing the envelope, nor will it be like the already successful WWE brands SmackDown and RAW.

“It will be an alternative, there’s no doubt about that,” claimed the WWE Chairman. “It won’t be shot the same way we shoot SmackDown or RAW. It’ll have a different feel. It will be more gritty. There will also be more imagination put into concepts and characters. But at the same time, there will need to be a delicate balance because there are three masters to serve. There’s the small, vocal ECW audience. Then there’s the SCI FI audience that is accustomed to things more SCI FI. And obviously, you have to also be true to our broader audience in terms of what sports-entertainment is today.”

With so much of the vision of the new ECW brand already mapped out, many wonder what took WWE so long to re-launch the brand. According to McMahon, it was all about timing.

“Over the last several years, we have been busy re-establishing the concept of ECW without it having to be its own brand,” said McMahon. “Now, with the success of The Rise and Fall of ECW DVD and the success of last year’s One Night Stand pay-per-view, it just seemed right. And it feels like this year’s One Night Stand pay-per-view will be a launch to re-establish the brand.”

So with the launch of the re-established brand right around the corner, will former ECW head Paul Heyman have a role? “Absolutely,” exclaimed McMahon. “But at the end of the day, Mr. McMahon is in charge.”"

******************************************
************

Man, WWE.com does have a really weird mix of kayfabe and the truth doesn't it? Vince slips in and out of his businessman attitude to his Mr. McMahahon attitude just like that.

Oh, and my ONS Predictions:
- Cena vs. RVD
There probably will be a riot if that happens, but Smackdown seems to be the brand that's taking all the shit recently. I really hope RVD wins, but common sense tells me otherwise.
- Reyrey vs. Sabu
I'd be surprised if Sabu wins. There can't be that much for them to gain by giving the title to someone who didn't specifically earn the shot, and who has never had a WWE title shot before. Plus, Rey could switch eventually, and they don't need to make everything happen for ECW at once.
- Angle vs. RKO
RKO just came off of a 2 month suspension, I don't see why the WWE would give him a win over ECW's biggest new star on ECW turf. And by biggest I don't mean Big Show...
- Funk and Dreamer vs. Foley and Edge
Typical grudge match and, according to my predictions, ECW is down 2-1 against WWE, so they need this match. Should be a good match either way though, so I'm not fussed about who wins.
- Tazz vs. The King
Tazz is an ECW icon, and if he says he's gonna choke out Lawler, I believe him.
- Super Crazy and Tajiri vs. FBI
According to Avie, the FBI are a pretty solid team. And they are an actual team, so I think they'll get the win.

Oh, and:
I pledge allegiance to the wrestlers of ECW, and to the violence for which we demand. One promotion, under Tod, politically incorrect, with broken tables and barbed wire for all.

Quick results from Friday night's "Hardcore War" TNA Event at the New Alhambra Arena (ECW Arena) in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We will have a more detailed report and thoughts on the show later today:

- Shark Boy defeated Simon Diamond with the Dead Sea Drop.

- Jay Lethal defeated Sonjay Dutt with a released Dragon Suplex.

- Abyss defeated Brother Runt (Spike Dudley) after a Black Hole Slam into thumbtacks.

- Traci defeated Gail Kim with a rollup. Christy Hemme was the special referee. All three women lost their tops during the match, including Hemme, who voluntarily stripped to her bra after the bout.

- Rhino defeated Jeff Jarrett with a Gore after ducking a guitar shot. On the mic, Rhino said he was offered a contract to go back to WWE, but that he had decided to stick with TNA.

- Petey Williams defeated Jerry Lynn with the Canadian Destroyer.

- X Division Champion Samoa Joe defeated AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels in a three-way match when he choked out Styles.

- America's Most Wanted came out and attacked Daniels & Styles, then challenged any team to take them on. The lights went out, and when they came back on, The James Gang were in the ring. They ridiculed the fans, until Team 3D appeared on screens in the arena and cut a promo. Team 3D then entered through the crowd, and a four-on-two match took place, consisting mostly of wild brawling through the crowd. When they returned to the ring, Brother Ray called for the fans to throw chairs into the ring (ala the famous Terry Funk moment). Hundreds of chairs were flung into the ring. When things settled down, BG James got on the mic and said the fans had just cost themselves "a hell of a finish" and walked off. The match ended with no actual decision being announced, although Brother Ray announced Team 3D as the winners.

- Team 3D stayed on the mic for a while, thanking the fans and then brought out AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels and proclaimed them the "future" of wrestling. Brother Runt came back out, and pulled out a WWE contract, saying WWE had offered him the chance to wrestle for ECW for "one night only". He then tore up the contract, saying that he was sticking with TNA.

Why did I post this?? Because I'm tired of the of hearing the Dudleyz bitching week in and week out about 'ECW' listen assclowns you were a great team in ECW there's no question about that but that was long ago and the rest of the ECW crew has decided to move on what's funny is that the Dudleyz talk about how their hearts are in TNA and all that crap yet every single week during their promos they talk more about ECW and "that other company" than TNA and Spike rips the contract and says he's sticking with TNA well they're using Spike as much as the WWE was using him which is never.

This week the Miami Herald newspaper conducted an interview with Paul Heyman this week. As always, Heyman was very opinionated and had a lot to say regarding ECW, WWE, TNA and more.

Below are the highlights of the interview:

On ECW's Return: ECW was going to return with or without Heyman involved, so he figured it was best to have a say in his creation being brought back. Most of his concerns about the return have been addressed. The new ECW won't be a nostalgia show. It will be a progressively thinking promotion. It will have the most contemporary music, the most riveting and compelling characters and it will not rely on stars that were hot five or ten years ago.

Heyman's New Vision For ECW: Like before, ECW will offer a balance. "This is going to be everything you loved about the old ECW and thinking into the future". Heyman's goal is to use the most hard-hitting action and realistic storylines to produce a product that neither RAW or SmackDoown! can compete with.

Vampires in ECW?: The original story was taken out of context but yes, there are plans for a Vampire group in ECW. Reason being, Vampire culture is very popular with the youth culture in today's society.

Heyman explains, "They're called bite clubs, and it is kids, kind of like the Gothic scene now. It's a real culture that's out there, and it's very popular, and it's very hot. Anybody that follows the New York or Los Angeles club scene will find out there are a lot of kids into this right now. If I'm going to do a progressively thinking promotion one of the influences we're gong to have is what's hot with kids today, and what's hot with kids today is vampires. That is something I would do with the right people and with the right storyline."

Heyman Shoots on TNA Wrestling: "I don't think TNA is even a consideration to anyone in this industry. I wish that they were, but the problem with TNA is they never branded themselves. Instead of taking advantage of a tremendous opportunity, they complained. They said, 'I've been held back. I wasn't given an opportunity. I didn't get this. I didn't get that".

Heyman says another another thing they did in TNA wrongwas that they didn't brand new stars to be their stars. They didn't make Samoa Joe their star. They didn't make Abyss their lead star. They should have taken these lead guys and branded them so people identify them directly with TNA.

Now bow down to Paul Heyman's greatness and ability to tell like it is.

Why has RAW been on such a spending spree lately? I mean they recently bought Umaga, Armando Alejandro Estrada, Melina, Johnny Nitro, Charlie Haas, and Beth Phoenix! That's a lot of wrestlers! I'm also sick of Cena having the WWE title for so long! I wanted Triple H to win at Wrestlemania! Also I believe that Carlito is Cool! Why not give him a title shot instead of putting him on Heat for 2 weeks? But what's the deal with ECW? I mean all of a sudden ECW returns and wants to get back in the mix! Then Big Show goes to ECW! Then Angle and RVD! Who's next Carlito! That wouldn't be cool! So what does WWE do, they give them a show on SCIFI! (SCIFI?) Wrestling is going down the toilet! I miss the good old days!

Rob Van Dam will not be carrying John Cena's WWE Title to ECW, so whether it's at the PPV or on RAW the next night, Cena will end up on top. There will likely be a disputed finish during tomorrow's match.

So it looks like I won't be changing my sig just yet.

Hm, seems like I won't be watching any "Whining Wussies Entertainment" programming for a while, either. I said, "If Cena retains the title at ONS, I would stop watching WWE until he loses it."

ECW, BTW, is the exception because they could kick WWE's ass anyday. It's just the untalented "Invincible wigger fuck" makes them look weak.

Fuck you, John Cena. Stop being the champ. Go back to rapping. You were much cooler doing that. In my opinion, that is.

Doesn't stop me from buying ONS though....

Usually, I leave the room altogether when his match comes on. But, with most of the entertaining people of RAW leaving, I feel that it would be best to just say "fuck the WWE" until Cena loses.

There's a link to great article in which Paul E. talks pretty in-depth about the ECW relaunch at PWInsider...sorry guys, still recovering and getting ready for the ONS show, so I did not grab the link as I normally would. It does sound like Paul really has the passion to be back in this project though.

With Sabu, for serious, I didn't see it as him being about to tap (and yes, I watched a tape of the show). In fact, it felt like Big Show was SUPPOSED to come out before it looked like Sabu might tap, the point being that people wouldn't for sure be able to go "you saw the hand going up for it" since while yeah he was holding his hand up, it was in the middle of his body, that's usually not "I'm about to tap" position in a big match. Least not to me anyway. Internally they think Cena is responsible for the rating of that show...good God...they're very high...er, high on Cena in Stamford.

I will indeed watch ONS live tonight, and should be back with at least some thoughts, since red wants to review it, and I don't want to go stealing anybody's fun by going "hey, let me swipe your gimmick away from you".

Outlaw, the best thing you can do is make it very clear you want your cable company to carry sci-fi, if you know of other wrestling fans in the area, you should encourage them to do the same. If the cable company feels it's worth it to them, they will carry pretty much any channel you want.

My last minute predictions for One Night Stand:

WWE Championship
- John Cena vs. Rob Van Dam

World Heavyweight Title
- Rey Mysterio vs. Sabu

- Edge & Mick Foley, with Lita, vs. Terry Funk & Tommy Dreamer, with Beulah.

- Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton.

- Balls Mahoney vs. Masato Tanaka

- Tazz vs. Jerry Lawler.

- FBI vs. Tajiri & Super Crazy

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2006-06-11 19:57:21

I'll be predicting:

- Cena vs. RVD

WWE is too high on Cena, and the WWE in general to let RVD win this bout, the smart money is a disputed finish, or RVD wins the belt for tonight, and then drops it back to Cena on RAW (similar to the Dudleys's last tag title reign in ECW, which didn't hurt them a bit, and booked properly won't hurt RVD either). I'm going to say this bout depends on when it goes on. If it's last, then I think we can assume RVD is going to win and send folks home happy, if it is anywhere else on the card, I think it's a good bet Cena shalt retain.

- Reyrey vs. Sabu

I think Rey retains, but "double-crosses" Vince to join ECW and takes the heavyweight title with him. They don't care about SD! and it really feels to me like the show is probably just spinning it's wheels for now, and once guys like Batista and Kennedy are back and established, it'll be bye bye SD!. Seriously, they're now on before the live ECW show...making THEM the warm up act. That speaks fucking volumes. Rey wins, double crosses Vince, avie and friends squeal like girls. There you go.

- Angle vs. RKO

Angle wins, sorry, I just can't see Angle dropping this bout to Orton, they are adament about making Angle one of, if not the new face of ECW. Orton got suspended for rotten conduct, so I think WWE will use these two reasons to justify the jobbing of Orton in what should be a close bout. I just think it's too important for Angle to win and make ECW look good here, then it is to give Orton the come back win. There will be other days for Randy Orton.

- Funk and Dreamer vs. Foley and Edge

ECW wins, and hopefully Foley sees the light. This is going to be your violent brawl of the night bout, I expect them to go hard like Dudleys vs. Dreamer and Sandman did last year, maybe even with some crowd brawling. The ECW legends could use the win here, and I think since it'll come off the back of Foley, it gives Edge the ability to turn on his new buddy, and they would then be able to do another series of bouts down the line with the two if they wanted.

- Tazz vs. The King

Lawler is getting choked. Simple, this is an ECW show, Lawler has run his mouth, and there's just no other way to go with this other then Lawler being beated up, and choked the fuck out.

- Super Crazy and Tajiri vs. FBI

Hard to call. Tajiri is flying in special for this event, and mad respect to him that he is, so I can see WWE tempted to give him and Crazy the win here...BUT...The FBI will be regulars in the new company, so it might be good for them to pull a win. Hmmm...you know, I think Danny Doring and Roadkill will make a run in here, and either clean house, or maybe make the FBI job this one out. Crazy and Tajiri via interference, yeah, that sounds about right.

- Balls vs. Tanaka

Folks, if you have not seen these too men work, and you really like violent smash mouth matches, this is going to be like somebody dumping the sugar bowl into your Cheerios. While it won't steal the show, it should be a good violent brawl, and a good oppurtunity to showcase Balls a bit to the paying customers who may be unfamiliar with them. Winner: The fans, but I think Balls will eek out the win here.

RVD WINS!!!!!! And thanks to who?? That's right thanks to the Rated r Superstar Edge with that said something is gonna happen on Raw tomorrow because of the way the match ended...

And Funk-Dreamer vs Foley-Edge has to be the match of the year.

That was a great match, and ONS was well worth the money. Vince will strip the title from RVD though, probably. Anyways, the fans really hated Cena. :D

Also, did anyone see that kid punch Randy Orton in the arm? XD

XBL GT: ELTON JOHN 1111

ALSO, DICKS.
