ecw sure is getting a lot of mixed reactions. it also doesn't help that they are being booked like heels.

That's a surprise seeing as they're in ECW territory. And how about the backflip to backcracker combo by Carlito I hadn't seen that in a while.

Does anyone know who the ten superstars on Team WWE are going to be? I can't find the list anywhere, is the WWE keeping it a suprise?

Wow! Randy Orton came out of nowhere and RKO'd the hell out of Kurt Angle. Plus he was in his wrestling attire and not street clothes. Does this mean Orton has been reinstated from his suspension?

I guess so. Surprised the hell outta me. I'm sure everyone was doing a Joey Styles at that moment.

"Oh my God!"

Well, I hope ECW kicks WWE's ass!

Hm, seems Lilian got hurt...guess it's time to watch more RAW....

ok seriously, wtf? just look at the ecw ONS lineup. nearly evet match features a "wwe wrestler" like Edge, Cena, Orton, Lawler and so on... jeeze..

well we know now that the ecw vs. wwe special will be at 9, like Raw.

Glad Carlito got to be on raw, with a win over benjamin too. that was like the best match of the night too.

Oh, man. Oh ho ho. Lillian stole the show by far. Great beginning to what I thought was the best match of the night.

Poor Lillian. Such a kind-hearted woman, and I'm laughing at her expense.

I barely caught the strike and I was like "What the fuck?"

He did say that 60 days pass although it felt like 2 weeks. I guess he's back and going to be in One Night Stand.

That backflip off the top rope to a lungblower, or as Joey Styles called it a "backcracker," was awesome.

They're desperate for Cena to be a face, and I think the promo tonight helped illustrate what is wrong with the character. He is such a fucking brownoser, Paul E. and RVD tell him he's unworthy to be in an ECW ring, that those fans will boo him out of the building, and his reaction is "Well, I liked ECW"? WTF? Cena should be saying something like "I don't care, I'm not there to impress ECW, I'm there to defend the WWE title". Seriously...they just keep on dropping that ball with him.

As for what Sabu was attempting, the move is called an "Arabian Facebuster", this is accomplished when, as you saw, Sabu places a chair under his butt and jumps off the top for a sit down on his opponents head, creating a sandwich effect with the chair. The move can also be done with a spin. Having caught the tape, my assumption of why the spot was not as impressive as it usually is, was because Sabu had to jump a greater distance then normal, and the move is not usually used in conjunction with a table. A suggested new name for the move, at least when applied to John Cena is the "Brown-nosing wigger buster". Just a suggestion...you decide if it'll catch on or not... ; )

I would have been more pissed about this if it was simply another "reunion" show. But that was last year, with the promotion coming back, I'm not as angry to see WWE talent on the show, especially since the victories our side is sure to rack up, will make us have more credibility in the eyes of mainstream WWE marks...I mean fans.

<_<

>_>

There has been some thought floating that WWE may be lameducking SD! so as to close it down once the UPN deal expires next year, which I can't blame them since even on the CW network they plan to leave it on Fridays where it'll be pre-empted, and a WWE/ECW brand extension makes a hell of a lot more sense to me, and has a much more natural "rivalry" feel then splitting the mainstream WWE roster in half.

Also, Roadkill's tag team with that OVW dude or Deep South or wherever the hell he's from has been split...keep your fingers crossed that we'll get him back with Danny Doring. This would be significant as they were the last ECW tag champions, which gives a direct link to the lineage of the old belts, and credibility to the renewed ones. Now let's just hope Rhino decides to return when his TNA contract expires...though I do have a possible explanation that could be used to declare that he may retroactively have lost the belt.

Rhino lost to Sabu at least year's ONS, had that been a title match, Sabu would be the reigning champ, if Sabu beats Rey then, or loses to Rey, and Rey is the one to provide the "sacrifice" of a belt to legitimize a new ECW title, then it is conceivable the belt holder in this scenario could lay some slight claim to being the proper ECW champion of the past. Of course...signing Rhino would render all such arguements moot as he could either then be beaten in a title match, or win the title to make the connection undisputable.

It didn't come off like that to me. He was basically explaining the point that he cared nothing for getting booed out by fans, and I didn't think he did that bad in getting that point across.

As for Sabu messing up that one move, yeah, I figured the table was just too far away.

Anyhow, did anyone catch Lillian getting nailed by Haas? It seemed like people in the arena payed more attention to her than the match. We should all send her a 'Get Well Soon' card. :)

I was out of the room at the time and I missed what happened. Was it scripted?

So it looks like Raw is getting some new tag team talent. Now they just need maybe one more team to start a good tag division.

No, the incident with Lillian was not scripted. It was just a screwup. Can't say who's fault it would be- Haas was just doing his entrance, after all. I guess she just wasn't ready to move out of the way.

I missed it when it happened last night, so thanks for the link. Hope she recovers soon. and in a weird way this could put a small fued for hass with visera, since wwe is all about using real life drama.

I was calling my cable provider yesterday to see about how to order ONS and to my horror we did not have the right "plan" that covered ordering PPV. So I was royaly pissed, until my Dad said we would get the new plan. (It is $6. more to our bill) So I will be getting a new cable box tomorrow, so I will be all ready for this sunday! It's a good thing I called or I would have missed ONS.

Speaking of that, I hope they add more matches, since the current lineup is rather small.

Sorry for the double post but here is an interesting bit o news:

MTV’s Wrestling Society X has officially released former ECW wrestlers New Jack, Chris Hamrick and Justin Credible, along with recurring TNA worker Puma, from their contracts according to PWInsider.com.

Puma has recently been working for TNA under a verbal release from Wrestling Society X, while Credible and Hamrick have been on WWE’s radar as potential acquisitions for the ECW brand.

New Jack claimed at an indy show that he was going to be part of WWE’s ECW, but according to company sources, no such offer has been extended to the wrestler.

Meanwhile, Wrestling Society X is working to secure new wrestlers ahead of production on its first season. While MTV has yet to formally pick up the series, it did trademark the name this spring, and most are of the impression that the first season is a go.

btw, that highlander gimmick thats coming to Raw.. You remember part of that promo where the second dude kept repeatring teh last few things the other guy said? I kid you not we (as in me and my co-hosts) had the same gimmick for a character we made up for our radio show in high school. Small world huh?

Oh man, I really hate going on holiday when I have to catch up on wrestling. Especially since I couldn't record the ones I missed last week :'( Thanks for all the recap and talking about it though, it kind of helps me to feel more in the loop. I'm just watching yesterday's Raw now, so soon I should be up to date. I hate that I had to miss the buildup to ECW, especially the trade stuff it seems lik I missed the best Raw and SD! for quite a while.
Anyway, ONS this sunday, I can't wait.

Road Warrior Animal Released
June 6, 2006

As first reported on WWE Mobile, WWE has come to an agreement on the release of Road Warrior Animal (Joe Laurinaitis) as of today June 6, 2006. We wish Joe the best in all future endeavors.

Back to Lilian, she should be back by next Raw, it's just a spranged wrist, won't effect her announcing capabilities.

Here's a bit to bite on about Wednesday night

The following is from WWE.com:

Three matches for the WWE vs. ECW Head to Head special have been confirmed. The matches, which can be seen live this Wednesday on USA Network at 9/8 CT, are as follows:

WWE Champion John Cena vs. Sabu
In a battle of brawling specialists, RAW's John Cena will get a taste of the extreme atmosphere when he takes on ECW legend Sabu in one-on-one action.

World Champion Rey Mysterio vs. Rob Van Dam
SmackDown's Rey Mysterio will engage in high-risk combat with Mr. Money in the Bank Rob Van Dam as both men attempt to build momentum heading into One Night Stand.

20-Man Battle Royal WWE vs. ECW
Mick Foley, Edge, Big Show, Mark Henry, Carlito and Shelton Benjamin are just some of the Superstars that will represent WWE in the 20-man Battle Royal. Team ECW will be represented by Kurt Angle, Terry Funk, Tommy Dreamer, Balls Mahoney, Al Snow and more as WWE and ECW battle for the first time in this type of environment.

Momentum and bragging rights will be on the line as WWE and ECW go head to head just four days before One Night Stand. Don't miss WWE vs. ECW Head to Head Wednesday on USA Network at 9/8 CT.

This one will be either fun or funny depending on who you ask.

World Champion Rey Mysterio vs. Rob Van Dam
SmackDown's Rey Mysterio will engage in high-risk combat with Mr. Money in the Bank Rob Van Dam as both men attempt to build momentum heading into One Night Stand.

This will probably be the best match of the night at least that's what I expect.

This will be a jumbled mess but it wil be good to see Al Snow in the ring.

Oh yeah AXL Rotten may not be a part of the new ECW because he was actually supposed to be on Raw last night and he was a no show.

Source: PWInsider.com

Mike Johnson reports that David Heath aka Gangrel was contacted last week by the WWE and will likely be re-signed soon for the ECW brand. ECWWrestlingNews.com has more on a vampire storyline for his return.

If it is true then I won't mind the whole "vampire" storyline I always that Gangrel was pretty good but like usual he wasn't used to his full potential in the WWE.

heh hey who called it huh? I can live with that at least, as I always thought Gangrel didn't get the real chance he deserved.

that's actually a pretty good lineup for tomorrow. It will be kinda funny to see Al Snow and Mick Foley in the same ring together after all this time and many snow jokes later huh?

Avie comments on new acquisitions, or possible acqusitions, and how "ECW" they are:

Justin Credible: Um...do I have to explain this? I shouldn't...you should all know why he should absolutely be part of the group. SIGN HIM NOW WWE BITCHES!!!

Chris Hamrick: Ah, "Confederate Currency" Chris Hamrick, part of the "Money trio" Hamrick wasn't seen to work a lot by ECW fans, but he's a good flyer, and a great bumper. A solid pickup for us he would be.

Al Snow: WELCOME BACK! WELCOME BACK! WELCOME BACK! Good to hear Al will be aligned with us.

New Jack: He'd be good to have for that sheer "violence" stuff, but New Jack is unpredictable, and uncontrollable, I've heard and read enough to know that when New Jack says "I am a criminal, I do criminal things" he is not lying, and I am surprised ECW kept him as long as they did. I'd like to see him come in, but I wouldn't blame WWE if they felt Jack was a risk they couldn't afford to take.

Gangrel: If you want vampires, get this man, a talented worker who's been playing the gimmick for about ten years. He also worked about three bouts that I can confirm for ECW during the Raven-Dreamer feud (the 95, or 96 leg of the feud) which also involved real life wife Luna Vachon (perhaps sign her up as well WWE?). Gangrel got the short end of the stick when first Edge and Christian, and then The Hardy Boys became break out stars and left The Brood. This could be the oppurtunity for Gangrel to be a decent part of a major show.

All in all, after the pretty blaise build that ECW has received from RAW, it at least makes you hopeful they'll have a great talent base to work with when it starts up. I'm checking the official site every day as well, should any new names pop up and become official, I'll let you know.

I have a bad feeling that Cena will retain at ONS. We all know what will happen if he got beat down on the RAW episode right before a PPV. Plus, Edge is the No.1 contender now, did you see him starring at Cena when he beat Big Show? Considering that the Edge --- Cena feud has been done before, they don't need to long to heat up again. I know that everyone here besides redface wants to see Cena lose. But he may walk away as the champ ---- AGAIN.

We can only hope that he does not job to Angle again. When Orton jobbed to UT, Benoit, Rey and Angle, his championship push had been badfly damaged. Many people argued that everyone jobbed to UT. But the fact is that he even jobbed to useless shits like Khali. If WWE wants Orton to win the championship in the near future and still plans to build him as the future of wrestling, he must stop jobbing. Going over Angle clean will give Orton many credits he needs in order to be a creditable No.1 cotender again. Let's hope that he does not job this time.

I have had that thought, and in fact I now think Cena will indeed leave ONS with the title. Do you honestly think Vince will let his wwe title, the belt with all that history behind it, be thrown down and transformed into the ecw belt? I think not. The heavyweight title on the other hand has not been around as long, so wwe would have no problem ditching that one.
