It would be really awesome if London and Kendrick won, but I kinda feel that they won't. They have a tendency to have MNM barely manage a win to keep the titles, and we'll probably see that happen on Sunday.

With ECW coming back, JBL will probably lead another feud against them, so he oughta win the WHC.

I, like many, am tired of Benoit jobbing. They're probably gonna give Finlay a few tough weeks to compensate for going so long without being pinned.

For King of the Ring, I'm not sure. Neither Booker nor Lashley have had main title runs since joining the WWE (Booker's were all on WCW, unless I'm mistaken). Booker jobbed TO a jobber, though, (Gunner Scott) so Lashley's probably gonna win this one.

People keep saying things about getting a title run when referring to King Of The Ring. Am I the only one who realizes that winning KOTR does not give you a title shot?

Besides that, someone said that MNM have had the titles too long. I am a fan of MNM, but I still agree. However, no one has had the tag teams titles longer than AMW. I was pissed that they defeated Styles and Daniels at Sacrifice. It just seems like they might never lose those belts.

LordKooler's Friday Night SmackDown! review
1.JBL segment
JBL talks about the wrestlers Rey Mysterio faced the last 2 weeks and tells Mysterio not to mess with fire.
2.MNM vs Paul London & Brian Kendrick & Jillian Hall
A decent match. London, Kedrick, and Jillian Hall won at the end. OVW Southern Tag Team Champions Roadkill & Kasey James will be debuting on SmacDown in the next few weeks and Michelle McCool will return to SmackDown as the manager of Roadkill & Kasey James. Michelle McCool has been training in Deep South Wrestling and Ohio Valley Wrestling and her wrestling has definitely improved. When Roadkill, Kasey James, and Michelle McCool debut on SmackDown, They'll feud with MNM.
3.Lashley vs Jobber
Lashley squashed the Jobber at the end.
4.Booker T & Finlay vs Chris Benoit & Gunner Scott
Chris Benoit & Gunner Scott won at the end.
5.Great Khali segment
Daivari talks about the Undertaker and Great Khali talks on the mic. Khali sucks on the mic.
6.Mark Henry vs Matt Hardy
Mark Henry squashed Hardy at the end. Then Henry talks about Kurt Angle.
7.Rey Mysterio vs Kane
Ever since that "May 19th" storyline started. I had a feeling that Kane would go to SmackDown on the day. During the match, Kane got distracted by May 19th again. Kane won at the end.

I agree, they didn't advertise it very well. It was a very good show though. The highlight was probably the world x cup 16 man gauntlet which was eventually won by Petey Williams.

Actually it does. The winner of the KOTR is named # 1 contender. They have mentioned it before but have not been heavy to promote it, mainly to keep the focus on JBL and Rey until JD is over. My original pick for the KOTR is Lashly, and while I'll stick to this claim I would like to see Booker in the title picture again. He would make a great heel champ and has been through enough crap to deserve at least one run with it.

Unless some sort of character can develope, Gunner does not interest me. At the moment he is just some guy and.. well... thats it really. Just some guy who showed up that we all thought was a jobber and got a surprise win.. No idea if he has a good finisher or anything like that. Time will tell I guess.

Hmm maybe in a few months a three way feud for the titles will break out and we will see a TLC match.

The first time I saw Gunner I thought "Hey, he looks a lot like Chris Benoit. Not the face, but his overall physique and style. How about that!" Then he had a chat with Benoit backstage after his match, and I was like "Hey, what a coincidence." Then one time, Gunner got his shit ruined, and Benoit came out to help him. When they were standing again, I noticed that both of them were wearing red pants. Then I was like "Hey, same physique, wrestling style, AND attire. How about that." And now they're tagging. I wonder what their relationship is outside of the show?

Does anyone know when Batista is coming back anyways. I want him to come back so bad.

Batista is coming back in 3-4 weeks. But he is not coming for JBL, their feud has been done before. The major reason why I picked Rey was because I wanted to see RVD kicking Cena's batt so badly at ONS. Plus, Rey has been through hell in recent weeks, he is likely to bounce back against JBL. We all know that Rey will eventually lose his title one day, hopefully it will be UT or RO who finishes him.

Sure Lashly is good, but I think that he is still too green to enter the title picture. Plus, it has been rumored for a while that SD! is making a top heel to replace RO during his suspension. If Booker can win the KOTR tourney, it will give him enough momentum to feud with Rey as a top heel. Another reason why I picked Rey over JBL was because JBL still has the US title. It is highly unlikely for someone to have SD!'s No.1 and No.2 titles at the same time.

Do you guys think it'll be a good idea to let Booker win the title then feud with Batista after they made-up after there real brawl? i think it'll be a great opputunity to use real life situations in a storyline

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2006-05-20 11:06:12

a few weeks I would think.

If they had a Booker/Batista fued it would be like the Edge/Matt fued where they really didn't like each other but worked together. Sorta like HBK and Brett.. Well maybe not as bad as them but you get the picture.

Why inflict such a great PPV with Cena, when DX's return could do it so much better, and on the WWEs own time slots, rather than on the resurrection of ECW? ECW doesn't need a stale wrestler getting defeated by one of its own wrestlers to kick it off; it needs a solid PPV, and Cena main-eventing it doesn't give me that impression.

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2006-05-20 19:20:34

Cena headlining isn't something I much enjoy the thought of either, but from what I hear, that is the current plan love it or not.

I think a Batista/Booker feud is a natural, real life heat is great to use in a storyline, and it's been done for years. Book is a solid all-around performer besides who could have some really good matches with Batista as he gets back into the grove of things.

Some more news about ECW on Sci-Fi.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that the Sci Fi Network will be issuing a press release announcing a 12-week run of Extreme Championship Wrestling (operated under WWE) every Tuesday.

According to the latest reports, the debut date for the TV show will be on June 13 (two days after ECW One Night Stand II) and will be taped earlier that night in Trenton, NJ. Although not confirmed, the show is expected to have a 10pm timeslot. We will continue to follow this story as it develops.

Cena might do better at ECW than in traditional matches. I imagine that it'd be hard to be bad at just getting smashed through stuff. Cena's pretty well-built, and he could take some major bumps of the choreographers wanted him to. Besides, Cena has at least DECENT matches when he has a talented guy to carry him through the match, in this case RVD.

For those who care, I didn't get to do one of my awesome PPV reviews with Sacrifice, mainly because I felt I was not reminded enough about it, and thusly, forgot to order it. I'm tying some string around my finger so I can order JD, I have a feeling that'll be good.

Also, this is a funny coincedence, I was watching baseball the other day, and I noticed that the Pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks was a guy named Miguel Batista! think there's any relation to our Batista?

I see it like this, of course he'll get a title shot, He's the king, the king gets whatever he wants

also, who talked about a new tag team fueding with MNM on Smackdown? Why is SD! gettting a new tag team? they don't need it, RAW does!

I know the pitcher you're talking about but no he's not related to the WWE's Batista Miguel is Dominican and Batista is of filipino and greek heritage besides his last name is actually Bautista.

That actually kind of did happen in the Royal Rumble, it was Batista and Cena at the end. Batista destroyed Cena at the end. I think Batista would still dominate Cena anyday, anynight.

Sure Cena heading into the ME of ONS will not give the fans a high quality match. But the fact is that many fans cannot wait to see superman losing anymore. ONS is the best time to take the belt away from Cena for good.

so tuesdays at 10 pm.. That doesn't sound so bad. I just hope it's more than an hour long. Though to be fair it might need less time at first just to re-organize and get the ball rolling first without having to worry about a lot of programming.

Well... I didn't think it was exclusively that, but yeah, I kinda figured that destruction was a major part of ECW. I guess I'm just optimistic, because I kinda think Cena might be good at... destroying stuff or something.
