HO HO HOPE you become a Newgrounds Supporter this year!
We're working hard to give you the best site possible, but we have bills to pay and community support is vital to keep things going and growing. Thank you for considering!
Here's a bit more news about the possible returm of ECW.
In a follow-up to the story that we posted earlier about ECW returning full-time, the plan was said to be finalized in the last week or so.
WWE is not looking to add a third day to their television schedule. It is believed this will be a mix of both former ECW wrestlers and new WWE developmental wrestlers who have been working house shows under Paul Heyman.
Speaking of Heyman, he will be in charge of the ECW brand. The plan is to run house shows and some form of weekly television as well.
It says they won't add a third day to the tv schedule so I don't know exactly how that would work. The Good news is Paul Heyman will be in charge so we can expect a great product maybe this is the WWE's way of getting rid of TNA.
Dude, Lockdown is going to be off the hook. I'm soo ordering it.

It's so already over.

That might have to do with the idea of folding OVW up, at first when that was suggested I thought they meant they'd simply stop using that name, but keep everything else about it (in terms of workers and the current tv show and areas it's run in). It's a possibility that what WWE might do here is take OVW's TV, and have it syndicated nationally (perhaps through USA), as I said, the AM RAW hour they are doing on Sunday's is just a holding pattern garbage show, if I were Vince, I would go to USA and show them what ECW has done in terms of numbers for him, and try to get them to take the hour that AM RAW uses, and move it to another night (or simply make it later on Sundays), maybe add an extra hour to it as well. This is an interesting oppurtunity for Vince to hurt TNA if he should decide to try and get an ECW show set up to program against Impact on Thursdays.
either way I have this to say: FREAK'IN SWEET!!! ECW RISES AGAIN!!!
ok now than I have that out of my system this is the best news I've heard all week. Endless possibilities for it too. The way it could work is that Vince and co won't give it a tv slot until they see what happens with in in terms of who they have and how well it does.
Do you think now that it is with wwe it will have an expanded tour? Like going to arena's it didn't before? I sure hope so, I'd love to go to an ECW show.

I've been wondering what about people like The Dudleyz, Sabu and Rhyno? They're in TNA so are going to want to go back to the WWE if these ECW comeback happens or would the WWE use new talent. I;ve read about some of them ost recent signing that the E has made and a lot of the wretlers fit the ECW style so I;m thinking some of those guys would be part of the New ECW.

Where was that almost confirmed?

I'm guessing that WWE will try to get as many of the currently free ECW wrestlers, and try to tempt some of the more 'spoken for' wrestlers away from their promotions. But if ECW is to survive, it can't just go on what it used to have. It will help to make the new ECW a hit at first, and help to push promising superstars, but the old ECW stars are not extremely important in the long run, in my opinion.
I hope that, in whatever way ECW comes back, it will be shown in England.
damn, at the moment my tv is out. i sure hope it gets fixed soon.
you know, I had a though( which hurt) about Vince's current religion story and ECW since we were on the subject. You know how it goes where those who don't learn from the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat it? Well lets put it this way, if ECW fans got offended by what Raven did to Sandman that one time, what makes vince think that he can get away with what he is doing now? Sure he hasn't tied HBK to a makeshift cross yet but still crossing the line. Raven had to come out and apologize for his actions, but I doubt Vince ever will.
Hard to say if guys like the dudleyz would go to the revived ECW. It is still under wwe's wing and there seems to be some bad blood there.

If Vince could get them, the Duds would come back. The TNA stuff is just to make a buck. Especially if ECW is run like ABC Comics is*, they'll be fine. Also it appears Sabu may be leaving TNA, so if they're serious, snapping him up quickly would be excellent for the revival.
*for those who are not comic book fans, ABC comics is the brainchild of writer Alan Moore, who wrote V for Vendetta among other books. Moore vowed never to work for DC comics again in the 80's, and formed ABC in 97 or 98 through the Wildstorm Comics imprint. Wildstorm was purchased by DC in 98 or 99, but under the structure of the deal, DC had NO IMPUT or interference with ABC. Of course...Alan Moore eventually has left to take his League of Extraordinary Gentlemen project elsewhere because DC violated that...but for the most part this example holds up well.
Considering that now ECW is going to be a part of WWE, is anyone worried that it will be watered down compared to the ECW of Olde?
And if it turns out not to be, then great timing for WWE. TNA's in the stage where they're now partially reliant on Team 3D/Dudley Boys and Christian, and other former ECW guys, so TNA could be potentially hurt a lot by this.

Er, that part kinda came out weird. I didn't mean to say that Christian was a former ECW guy (unless I'm utterly mistaken, I know little to nothing about ECW), I just mentioned him because being the main champion on TNA, they do rely quite a bit on his starpower now.
But yeah, nonetheless, bringing back ECW is going to hurt TNA quite a bit, I think.
Sound like Mr.big-shot-TNA-fan Lordkooler won't be posting a "lockdown" review, FINE, I will

"Redface Says"-TNA LockDownReveiw
FIRST MATCH; Team Japan vs. Team U.S.A, World X cup preveiw
This was an exciting match, especially when both teams were pulling of excellent tandem moves; like when all three members of team japan drop-kicked Sonjay Dutt AT THE SAME TIME!
The victor(s): Team Japan pulls an upset
-----
"Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels vs. "Low-ki"
Some chump who used to tag with Daniels beats the mess out of him, he's wrestling under anew name, I don't know it, I don't care.
The victor: Low-ki
-----
MEANWHILE!
Larry Z. of the Championship commitee is going around, asking people about the "important news" that will be revealed later tonight. it seems he's the only TNA offical who doesn't know about it...
----
X-Division "Xscape" match
several x-divison titans including sharkboy, sabin and others fight to be the first to escape the ring, but first, the must beat their opponents with pinfalls and submissions until there are two left.
Simon Diamond comes out with Elix Skipper, and D'amore comes out with Petey Willaims, they've agree'd to work in tandem until their men are the only two left. this plan goes to hell when Williams eliminates "Primetime". Oh well.
The victor: Sabin, by placing Willaims on D'amore's shoulder so that he can touch the ground first!
----
Arm-wrestling contest
Konnan vs. "Bullet" Bob Armstrong
Unfortunetly, this match wasn't as entertaining as it was humorous. Konnan loses, and as a result, he and LAX get 10 lashes, or, they get suspended.
The victor: Bullet bill...I MEAN!, Bob.
----
"Capture-the-flag" match
This was a good match, I just didn't care for it.
Team 3D capture the flag once, but it doesn'y count since the ref is in-capacitated. Eric Young returns the flag, and the match resumes. ONLY LATER, a new ref enters the ring, and Team 3D re-capture the flag.
The victor(s): Team 3D
----
X-Divison Title Match!
Sabu vs. Somoa Joe
REDFACE BEST MATCH OF THE NIGHT AWARD
Thes was such a cool match, a shame i don't remeber the entire thing. Sabu did his patended "Jumping-off-tha-chair-and-doing-insane-sl
ams" move, And Joe Put the Beat-down on Sabu as Well. at one point, Sabu produced a metal spike as tryed to STAB JOE IN THE FACE! in the end, Sabu fell victim to the mustle-buster.
The victor: Somoa Joe (re-tains title)

Christie Hemme comes out, Gives Mike tnay a not, Larry Z. Comes out all Pissed, Tenay reads note, RAVEN IS BACK!

MAIN EVENT 1
NWA title match
Christian Cage vs. Abyss
a pretty good match, James mitchelle kept throwing weapons into the rings, including a bag of thumbtacks, his cane, and the NWA title belt!
Cage Smashes the Cane over Abyss' head, and does the "un-prettier" on him! FACE FIRST INTO SOME THUMBS TACKS!
The victor: Christian Cage!
HOWEVER, Abyss chokes Cage with his chain, and Mitchelle steals the belt.

Main Event 2
LETHAL LOCKDOWN
Jarrett's army vs. sting's warriors
REDFACE BRIGHTEST STAR AWARD-A.J STYLES
A.J took a big hit for his team by coming into the ring first but he also DID THE COOLEST THING EVER! after the ceiling was lowered, A.j got on top of the roof by using an entrance to the top of the roof, wich was stacked with ladders and tables and things.
A.J Get's Chris Harris on top of one of these Tables (on top of the roof) climbs a ladder (on top of the roof, just so you don't get lost,) JUMPS ONTO ONE OF THE LIGHTING FIXTURES AND BAM!! put a fork in 'em, they're done..
mean while, James Storm gets Sting in a scorpion death lock, Stign then counters and gets storm in a deathlock!
the victor(s); Sting's warriors

I'll still purchase Backlash, So I can watch my boy Cena Kick-ass.
It is not up to him any more. The fact is that every single person besides kids and women are booing him. HHH is supposed to the heel against Cena, but the cold hard fact is that he is getting cheered mainly because Cena has failed as the top face of the company. Like it or not, money boy's fan base has been on a free fall since he fueded with Y2J last year. The only way to save Cena from being booed to death as a face is to turn him heel. I know that you do not like, but it is the only smart decision they can make now.

Dude, you need to track on the spoilers at PWinsider. :/ Hopefully, Vince will really turn Cena heel this time rather than just talking about it. :P

It is fine to be a Cena fan, most kids like Cena. Maybe that's why he is still a face. But the problem is that he has a very limited in ring skill. In addition, people now tired of him winning all the matches against the odds. In other words, someone else needs to have the belt or it will get stale. Hopefully, there is going to be a change at ONS.

I haven't read anything from PWInsider saying Cena will go heel, it's only been reported on The Torch, who I'm always suspicious of.
As for Christian? He was never involved with ECW, ditto Edge.
ugh, I'm tired...
maybe I'll just finish my homework and call it a day raw is getting a little boring anyway, please let me know what you think of my lockdown reveiw...
Oh my fuck! Sabu is part of WWE!
4-W Wrestling says:
Terry Brunk better known as Sabu has officially signed a WWE contract last night.
Sabu was currently working for TNA Wrestling and is better known for his appearances with ECW in the 1990’s.
The contract which Sabu signed with WWE will last for one year with an option to renew the contract at the end of the year’s deal.
This near enough confirms that Sabu will be appearing at the ECW One Night Stand II this year. More details will be available soon. Sabu’s website can be reached at www.officialsabu.com.
Sabu's agent Corey Phillips would also like to express that they are many former WWE/WCW/TNA/ and ECW talent that are available for bookings. To contact Corey about whom he represents and the details you can call him at: 270-846-7138 or email him at: upcloseandpersonal413@hotmail.com.

It looks like they're setting up HHH to be a face. Not a total babyface, just the kind who makes jokes about everyone and is an overall badass. I could be wrong.
Yeah, first match was good. Masters was a bit better than usual. Most of the match I forgot Stryker was even in it. Hah. It also looks like Carlito has completed his face turn by siding with RVD, whom in past storylines he had not been on good terms with. Seeing Haas wrestle was cool, too. He was a lot bigger than I expected him to be.
Also, hurrah for Coach being taken out. Hah. Seeing Vis again makes me realize that he's more of an actual wrestler than Big Show is being allowed to be. Shame, too. Show's pretty cool.
Speaking of Show, losing his eye? That's stupid. Forget the movie plug, already. It looks like a lame movie, no matter how well Kane fills the role. (In case you guys didn't quite get the eye thing, Kane's character in the movie collects people's eyes). Does this mean Show gets to wear an eyepatch? 0.0
Carlito looked a bit chicken as a face as he was trying to avoid Masters for most of the match. Yea, Masters had a few wrestling moves, amazing. But my money is still on Carlito although he looks better as a heel. The Shane vs HBK match is also good, the most brilliant scene is that Shane jumped from the top rope and hit HBK through the announce table. But it is also a sign that HBK will win on Sunday. With the current storylines, I doubt that there will be any belt changing hands. Most belts changed hands already at WM22, I do not see them change too frequently.
i think wrestlemania 22 was the worst wrestlemania ever!!!!
john cena could never beat triple h!!!!!
the hardcore was fine hell yeah with barbie!!!!
you think I could join I have been watching wrestling since I was 4 My favorite wrestlers of all time are Stone Cold Steve Austin real name Steve Williams Mick Foley or also Cactus Jack HBK is awesome I saw wrestlemania 22 it was insane loved all of it Vince was destroyed by HBK thats was great I have the wrestlings most wanted book very educational and if he were back Sandman would be another choice for me

Longest sentence I've ever seen. In other news....
During the second RAW house show in Cardiff, Wales, a fan breached the rails and attempted to attack wrestlers during the main event. The man got as far as the canvas but RAW's security saved the day with a great tackle.
It is said that the guy who had been organizing the security earlier after a few missiles were thrown into the ring, came from nowhere and nailed the guy to prevent a certain assault. He certainly earned his pay, with basic show security way behind the eight ball. The show paused for a few seconds while security mopped up, the fan was escorted up main isle where wrestlers entered the ring.
I saw an event such as this one take place before at a house show. If I remember correctly, a guy jumped in the ring and tackled Chuck Pulumbo. Billy Gunn then began stomping on him until security caught up.
saintg you are # 207. Welcome!
Shane has always been a risk taker, even though he stole moves from RVD.
ONS is something I am definatly looking forward too, but once ECW gets back up and going I wonder if they will have ppv's of their own again or are they going to keep it to a once a year thing for a while.. who knows at this point.

I could've told you that without watching Raw. Its gotta be the only way that this storyline can end.

I hope the WWE title will change hands. It didnt change hands at WM, I see no reason why it won't now...

The WWE could definately sacrifice some of the PPVs it has currently.
