Then it will be good to see him on SD, despite he's working with Henry.

Well good news and bad news. The store I went to had sold out of the ECW DVD, but I decided to order one and will get it next week, probably Wensday.

This brought me to think about something... I've never seen an ECW PPV from start to finish. Sure I've seen matches from some of them, but never a regular showing. I'm thinking through the magic of ebay I could find some of them, but the thing is I really don't know much about them. So here are the questions:

How many PPV's did ECW run/What were they called?

Which one was the best? Worst? (if any)

I just hope they have them on DVD and not just VHS.

Heatwave 98 is generally considered the best overall PPV, and that was released on DVD through Pioneer entertainment before ECW closed. Those DVD's have stopped being made, Pioneer was allowed to sell their inventory of what was produced, and I've still run across some of these shows in stores like FYE, but it's basically a situation if you can find one, you want it, snatch it up, because they will not be making anymore of those.

I also have not found Bloodsport in stores, so I assume it's a massive sell out situation, I know bootlegs were being sold in New York about two weeks ago, and as happened with Rise and Fall, I imagine that WWE tied up a lot with pre-order, and what went out into the actual stores was snapped up by fans pretty quickly. I've said it before, and I will say it again, never, NEVER underestimate the rabid cult-fanbase of ECW. If we see or know something ECW is coming out, we are going to get it. So I would imagine it won't be long before we start hearing about quick sellouts, and whatever else. Because I have noticed the same thing (I had a pre-order, which I'm waiting to have shipped to me), just looking around to look around, and I can't find it anywhere.

So it looks like that Tomko and Snitsky will be masscred by Big Show and Kane sincve they are the No.1 contenders now. Too bad that The Heart Throbs never got pushed, all they did was jobbing and jobbing... Like a said, it is time to unite SD! andRAW's tag teams since RAW almost does not exist any tag team any more.

That sucks. I thought they were going to be the new MNM. I think that Vince should fire Triple H can Cena. My god, I'm going crazy! I need Batista back on wrestling soon!

We don't need a new MNM. MNM is still around and doing well. What we need is someone to compete with them. And by the way, what the hell happened to Juventude Guerra?

not changing my sig until RVD wins the WWE title.

You might never be changing your sig. Knowing how Vince works, Nunzio might win the title before RVD.

Some time since I been here. So who thought Randy went to far. He pissed off Taz and he usually a relaxed guy. But oh well anyways see the duo of london and kendrick was great. Crusier weight division needs to be marketed more and get rid of the big lip coconut head ape henry.

I don't mind London and Kendrick but they need to get rid of those hideos shorts that they wear to the ring. I hate their attire. Another thing that SD made me think about was maybe Matt Hardy is joining MNM to make the new MNM stand for Mercury, Nitro, and Matt. Just a thought. Matt has kind of been lost ever since Jeff left.

LordKooler's Friday Night Smackdown review
1.Chris Benoit vs Matt Hardy vs JBL vs Orlando Jordan
The winner of this match gets to face Booker T or a replacement for the US Title at No Way Out. Chris Benoit won at the end.
2.MNM vs Paul London & Brian Kendrick
These two might face each other in a rematch at No Way Out. MNM won at the end to retain the Tag Team Titles. Backstage, Melina said to Matt Hardy that if he scratches her back, She'll scratch his back. What does Melina mean by that? Will Matt Hardy be put in a storyline with MNM. Joey Mercury got his start in the Hardy Boyz' OMEGA promotion along with Christian York, Lita, Gregory Helms, Shannon Moore, and Caprice Coleman.
3.Randy Orton segment
Randy Orton came out riding Eddie Guerrero's lowrider and talks bad about his book. Last week, Orton said that eddie is in hell, Now this week, Orton is talking bad about Eddie's book. It makes me sick that Randy Orton is using Eddie Guerrero's death to get Cheap Heat. Rey Mysterio comes out and attacks Randy Orton.
4.Gregory Helms vs Nunzio
Whenever a Cruiserweight from RAW jumps to Smackdown, They become Cruiserweight Champion. That's what Spike Dudley and Gregory Helms did. Kid Kash watched the match. Gregory Helms won at the end.
5.Junior tag team match
After the match, Finlay came out and attacked the juniors.
6.Undertaker vs Mark Henry
Undertaker won by DQ when MNM interfered. Then Theodore Long announces a 2 on 3 handicap match with Kurt Angle & Undertaker against MNM & Mark Henry.

I sure don't. It wouldn't look right on him. Besides, Angle made Taker tap out before and he will make him do it again.

In that case I'll check ebay for that one first.

either that or wwe did not send out enough to meet demand, maybe thinking it wouldn't sell. Obviously as you said it has a cult following and will sell so that really doesn't make sense now does it?

Is it just me or is JBL getting fat? .. or fatter.. whichever. He's nearly 300 pounds now, I wonder if wwe is going to make him do something about it.

I think he eats too much Pizza. Atleast BigShow ate only some Pizza. That was funny when JBL said that to BigShow.

JBL has already been over 300 lbs. for as long as I've been a wrestling fan. I just kinda assumed he's weighed that much for his whole career.

Smackdown! Recap for February 11th, 2006 - “More Abominations”

Opening – Just In Case You Missed Last Week

Of course, we open up to last week’s show, as we need as much filler as possible!

Match 1 – Fatal Four-Way for US Title #1 Contendership
Mister Blogmeister vs. Cowboy Jibble vs. Buckwheat vs. Banoit-Eh

First off, why are great wrestlers like JBL and Benoit battling over the US title? I’d rather them not going for any title then any less than the WWE title at this point. It’s just insulting, especially to Benoit. Of course, we’ve gone over this already. Anyway, about the match.

Jibble opened up to a nice little dance coming out of his limo. I laughed. Then, Mr. (Five Time)^5 comes out to annoy us all. It worked. Basically, a lot of wrestling happened after that. The announcers reminded us about the rules of the Fatal Four-Way. Sharmell and Booker argued with the announcers.

Anyway, moving on…

Oh wait…the outcome! Yeah, Banoit-Eh got it. You really thought he wouldn’t?

Afterwards was a rather hilarious chat between Mr. Five Time and Holla Back. Basically, Booker T is required to wrestle at No Way Out or else he forfeits the title. This could actually make things interesting. I’d like to see how this continues.

Oh yeah, JBL is not happy, either.

Match 2 - The M&M’s want some people to play with

Before the match, Melina decides to act like the Nice Little Caring Girl That Is Completely Innocent. Basically she offered to scratch Matt Hardy’s back if he was willing to scratch hers. Just imagine…we could see unbridled back-scratching right on network television!

Yeah, so they come out to the ring and want to offer a match to anyone with their “15 minutes of fame with MNM.” Which, incidentally, is what I ALWAYS wanted. London and Kendrick (who are apparently thespians now), come out. The match starts.

Now am I the only person that is overly-annoyed by Melina’s Screams of Doom throughout the match? Anyway, I expected a great match, considering London and Kendrick haven’t been used on SD in a while and are not bad as a tag team. Of course, it’s a fucked up match after all.

Randy Yaks To The Camera

This is the typical WWE “oh, he might be apologetic, but he won’t be” interview. No need to comment more.

Then he goes out to the ring and does more “Let’s milk Eddie’s death for as long as possible” shit. It’s not the Eddie-bashing that disgusts me…it’s the fact that the WWE puts this shit on the air. LET EDDIE FUCKING REST IN PEACE.

Match 3 – The Wrestler Formerly Known as Hurricane vs. Nunzio

Do you really care? Helms won. Quite boring.

Captain Jack Sparrow graces the WWE

Yeah, so Crystal asks the network guy about the merger, after which he brings out the Lollipop Guild playground. Again, such belittling of what could be a good wrestling division. Anyway, Mr. Kennedy Kennedy comes out to annoy the network guy. I was pleased to hear him greeted by cheers, which might make the WWE notice that he’d be great as a face. Then, Captain Jack Sparrow himself comes and says “hello” to everyone.

I just can’t decide whether this gimmick is going to be really good or really bad.

Match 4 – Some Lollipop Guild Match

You know how I feel about the way the WWE is treating these people, but I’d like to comment on the match. These guys really CAN wrestle! Sadly, this was the most interesting match all night so far. Even a really big screw-up looks good in the hands of these guys. I was genuinely entertained, and not because of the annoying gimmick.

Enter the Drunken Irishman. He beats up everyone in the ring then blabs on about the ring being serious. Oh wells.

Booker T

…worms. LOL.

Match 5 – That Fat Bastard vs. Taker

I know why they made this match…to see which force was mightier: Taker’s greatness, or Mark Henry’s suckiness. It was a good match, though. Undertaker doesn’t seem to lose many matches, including the match again such a force as Mark Henry’s suckiness. Taker actually made me believe for a little while that he might not be able to handle Mark Henry…that’s how good he was. Taker really played the “I’m fighting a giant” part well, considering he’s a giant himself. It was very cathartic to see him Chokeslam Mark Henry as well as do some of his great moves like Old School.

Taker is about to win, when the WWE realizes we can’t let a match be open-and-shut that easily. Therefore, the M&M’s come out and attack Taker, DQ-ing Henry. It was fun watching Taker beat the shit out of them until Henry came to. Then Your Olympic Gold Hero comes out and saves Taker, after which the two give each other an Awkward Stare.

Taker wins via DQ

As if this wasn’t enough, Holla Back comes out and declares a 2 on 3 match. I’m sure you can figure out who is fighting who. This will be an interesting match only because it should be fun to see Taker working side by side with Angle, especially right before a title shot…

Conclusion

Well, I enjoyed the night, with the exception of a few matches. The ending was more interesting to me than other SD’s recently, which is good. Hell, having Taker in action every week is good for ANY show. I just kinda wish we didn’t have to tag along Mark Henry with this storyline.

Yeah, I know this recap wasn’t as good as my others, but I was kind of having an off-night. I hope you enjoyed it either way.

I think the Pirate gimmick could be quite good. Just as long as they don't have him running around stabbing people with a sword.

And about TNA: I could sit and watch AJ styles, Christopher Daniels, AMW, Abyss, Sabin, Team Canada and all of the other TNA stars, but I just can't like all of the recent WWE stars they brought in. They give them all of the camera and mic time, and its shiity, seeing as all of them (except Moore and a few other small stars) are faces, I just feel they don't know what to do with them.
