Speaking of the womens division.. do you realize that right now there are 3 regular female wrestlers sinc elita got hurt? Trish Molly and Victoria. Not too good right there. They never should have fired gail kim.

Do you think that they will have to bring some women off of smackdown, or get some from OVW? Otherwise, they are screwed

I really don't know what WWE plans on doing. They are more interested in having pretty girls as divas rather than wrestlers it seems.

Are you talking about Medusa throwing the WWF Women's Championship in the trash on Nitro?

Throwing a belt into a trash can, throwing it down, or in any other way disrespecting a belt like that sends the worst possible message about the belt. It kills it because the champion is saying it's worthless, one of the reasons I hate Eric Bischoff so much is that Bischoff payed Medusa EXTRA to throw her belt in the trash can on Nitro, he also attempted to pay Mike Awesome to do the same thing to the ECW World Heavyweight Championship when Awesome jumped.

Oh no, we know what happened: Bret was asked to drop the belt at Survivor Series before he left, Bret refused citing that he was a huge hero in Canada, and did not want to lose the belt in his own country, and certainly not to Shawn Michaels who he legitimately did not like. Vince went along with this says Bret (and most everyone else), the plan then became that Shawn Michaels would put Bret into the Sharpshooter, then The Hart Foundation would hit the ring and attack Michaels, then DX would jump in and brawl as well, the match would end on a DQ, and the show would end with a big run in, then Bret would say good bye the next night on RAW and vacate the title. This finish was agreed to by both men because Bret had creative control in his last matches with the WWF. When the point in the match came for Bret to be put in the Sharpshooter, he was, and then Earl Hebner immediately called for the bell. Michaels released the hold, and both he and Bret seemed angry, Michaels grabbed the belt in obvious disgust, Vince was ordering him to go to the back, and Michaels yelled something at Vince and left, Vince got Hebner out of the ring and the building as well (although Bret's then wife had some words with Earl to the effect of that Bret considered him a friend, and how could he do this to him?) Bret and Vince sparred verbally with Bret standing in the ring, and Vince outside of it, Bret spit in Vince's face, and Vince left, Bret then proceeded to smash equipment as the show went off the air. In the back, the wrestlers knew that Bret had been screwed, Shawn Michaels walked through the curtain and was qouted as saying "how can he (Vince) expect me to accept this fucking belt like this?" (although Michaels admitted a few years later to being in on it). Bret went into his locker room with the Hart Foundation (who were all members of his family) around him. Vince came in, and Bret told him that he was going to take a shower, if Vince was still there after he got out, Vince would get a punch in the face. Bret got out, Vince was still there, and he was indeed punched. Bret then went to WCW, Vince addressed the incident on TV, and became Mr. Mcmahon.

My sources on this are Mic Foley's first book, the documentary Bret Hart: Wrestling With Shadows, and the Confidential piece Michaels did about the incident.

I believe Vince was right to do it, Bret put himself ahead of the company, and ahead of the business. Vince had NO CONTRACTUAL GUARANTEE that if he let Bret walk out of Survivor Series with that belt. That was the last date on Bret's contract, and as I said before, Bischoff was giving people large signing bonuses to throw belts in the trash, and would have given Bret a gigantic one to disrespect the WWF title in that way. Vince was losing in the ratings, his company was dodging bankruptcy and was just starting to get profitable again, if Bret had done that, Vince would have been out of business. Vince had watched guys he'd made stars walk out on him without notice (like Lex Luger who bolted back to WCW only a day or two after his WWF contract was up with no notice), he could not allow himself to be put into a situation where the title could be destroyed, and he would have no legal recourse to stop it. I'm not a fan of Vince Mcmahon, but I feel he made the right call there, because Bret would not play ball, and Vince had to protect himself, and protect his company.

1.Fatal four way tag team match rating:****
A great tag team title match to start off Smackdown. Jindrak & Reigns were eliminated first, Then Eddie & Booker T got eliminated. With Rey & RVD & The Bashams the last 2 teams in the ring, The bashams won after they did a switcharoo. After the match JBL, Orlando Jordan, and Amy weber came out to congradulate the Bashams on winning the tag team titles.
2.Kurt angle invitational rating:***1/2
Matches that feature Kurt angle wrestling Hometown heros are usually boring, But this was decent. Since the defending Stanley cup champions the Tampa bay lightning can't play because of the NHL lockout, The Tampa hometown hero nearly won Kurt angle's gold medal before kurt kicked out of the pin before the referee could say "3". Kurt angle won at the end.
4.Amy weber vs Joy giovanni rating:*
Amy weber comes out for her match against Joy but is afraid to wrestle her. But Joy doesn't come out. So amy weber is declaired the winner. This wasn't a match.
5.Funaki vs Nunzio rating:***
A good cruiserweight match. Funaki won at the end.
6.The Florida Agriculutural Group 2004 Man of the year rating:**
A boring segment to end Smackdown. JBL is awarded by the Florida Agriculutural group as the 2004 man of the year for helping Florida during the 2004 Hurricane season. Another award that JBL will get will be the 2004 wrestlecrap gooker award tomorrow if he wins it. Then Kurt angle comes out and opens the back of JBL's car trunk to find, Joy giovanni! Then Big show comes out and attacks JBL and his cabinet.

Is it me, or does the whole chain gang thing just seem a bit crappy? We have some funny-ish ones, like the test-icles, the peeps wasnt even that bad, but the chain gang just seems corny as hell, and that going into the crowd. Just start rappin' dude, thats all we like(d?) you for.

I enjoyed most of Smackdown! last night, the tag title match easily blew everything else away, and was a great justification for why Tag wrestling is still vital, and how stupid it is that the writers have been ignoring it. The only downside is that RVD and Rey will split at least temporarily as RVD will have surgery on that injured knee. Also appears to me Book and Eddie will split in favor of Eddie having a feud with Rey (although I see it being a matter of respect, leading to a possible two of three falls match either at the Rumble or No Way Out, which would be an INCREDIBLE matchup). That only leaves Reigns and Jindrak, who aren't going to work together regular I'm sure, and the now champion Bashams as heels...anybody else smell a babyface return in the works for The Dudleyz?

Update on Lita: Matt Hardy said on his site she tore her ACL, I JUST got to watch the PPV today and my GOD! I believe it, that bump she took was sick. For those that didn't see it, Lita dived from the apron onto Trish, having her weight land almost exclusively on her left leg, and then it actually twisted underneath her. No word have I yet heard on Eugene's condition, though I'm optimistically hoping he wasn't hurt too bad as he seemed to hurt himself off of landing from a dropkick.

He may need surgery too but his injury is not speculated to be as bad as lita's.

News:

After working with the injury for over a year, Rob Van Dam is finally getting his knee checked out. Rob apparently knows he needs surgery but doesn't want to take the time off to get it done due to his ECW-like mindset. At last word, he was still awaiting MRI results and then would decide what to do.

As reported yesterday, The Shane Twins will debut on SmackDown! in the next few weeks.

Psicosis' name has came up in recent weeks as possibly being signed to a WWE deal. Word is that Rey Mytsterio threw in a good word for him. The company still has it's sites set on Super Crazy as well.

Man I'd like to see both super crazy and psy in WWE. The shane twins are from south florida.

I would too, I'd also like to see Tajiri and Hurricane (among others) sent back to Smackdown! with the new draft lottery after Mania this year.

The Shanes also worked for TNA briefly, I forget what I heard they're gimmick was, I know it was supposed to be one of their dumber ideas.

On RVD, I had actually heard he was going to have the surgery, since he knows there's enough heat on him for not going on the Iraq tour that they aren't going to really do anything meaningful with him anyway.

I'm sure he will be, honestly, I don't know why they said it was an optional trip when they expected anyone who was asked to go, they should have just said "if you want to VOLUNTEER, you can, and if we can do something with you, we will, but it is MANDATORY for anyone who is asked to go" simple as that.

From what I understand though, and I may be a day behind at this point, RVD wants to get another MRI and see what happens with that, he pretty stubbornly dosen't want surgery, he's been working with a torn ACL for about a year now, and he tore his MCL just a couple months back. He's been told that he really does need surgery, but having that ECW mindset of "you work through the injuries, and you don't disappoint your fans" he wants to avoid surgery and keep working. I don't think that he can though and I honestly wonder how he's been able to keep going this long, I know as an RVD fan, I'd be fine with Rob out for a few months if it meant that he was coming back healthy and not risking even more serious health problems by working with such a serious injury.

Could be possible to turn a walls into a cross face if Benoit were to grab onto Jericho before he turns him for walls, Benoit would more then likely need to punch Jericho in the face until Jericho released, then Benoit would have to probably scissor Jericho's leg, bring him down, and quickly roll into the crossface. There's really no way to get out of a Crippler Crossface and into the Walls.

I'm personally getting sick of all the dirty finish's myself, especially on PPV, I pay to watch two guys wrestle, and see who the better man is, and when I can go in saying "well, since it's a match involving this guy, not only do I know he'll win, but I know he'll win by cheating" that's dumb, that's stale booking. I'm not saying it's always wrong to have a dirty finish, because it's not, it's part of wrestling, and it helps keep hot feuds going, but when it's EVERY time, well, then it's just stale.

yeah, we need some clean finishes going. It seems like every time we see then JBL and HHH win dirty. Once in a while is fine but not every freakin week.
