I don't think ECW ever honestly competed with anybody, I think they hated WCW, but with WWE, it was just about having that edge, it was about being rebellious and different, and that's what they needed to do, that's what the industry needed then. For Shane Douglas to win the NWA title, and raffle off all the great names who held it, then to say "and they can all...kiss my ASS!" was HUGE, I mean, maybe people don't get that now, because we've been getting trained that titles aren't important, but back then, that was huge. I do think they are starting to move back into (at least on RAW) the idea that everybody should want to be the world/wwe champion, that the world/wwe champion is the top guy, and if you don't want to be the top guy, then there's something wrong with you. I too agree that most fans today don't have the patience to have long champions anymore, but again, we had to be programmed not to accept it, and we can probably always be reprogrammed into accepting it again as well. I also agree with people who say we could have a world title switch on television, I think on a month where you don't have PPV, it would be a good way to get people to feel like "hey, I have to watch more then just the PPV's now, because good god, they had a title change on tv, so anything can happen!"

WWE needs somebody nipping at them for no other reason then it's a way to keep Vince from indulging in a lot of the stupider stuff he does. I honestly think Vince believes that he is not competing with anything for his viewers attention and money, that he can just trot out whatever crap he wants (Katie Vick) and people are going to watch it because, hey, what else are they going to do? Well I'm here to tell him what we'll do, and what I myself have been doing a lot lately: We'll change the channel, we won't record the show, you don't make it seem like destination television to me? FINE! I won't treat it as such. If Vince had someone out there he considered a competitor, it might not make him change his product, but it would certainly make him think before he put some of the tasteless crap he's put on television out there. I honestly believe that even when WCW was taking, they were still useful, if only in that it made Vince hold back on some of the more tasteless tv, simply because if people hated it, they could change the channel to WCW and give ratings and support to the opposition.

Shane handles a lot of the management and administrative stuff at WWE, particularly the website, I think Vince is grooming him to be the true successor to his position as Chairman. I really feel like WWE has a golden oppurtunity to utilize one of the greatest minds in wrestling, and they are absolutely squandering it. I realize Paul E. has his share of personal idyosyncricies (such as issues with being on time, and returning calls), but the fact is, I really think if Vince gave Paul Heyman the book and said "look, I'm putting a lot of faith in you, so I need you to be here when I need you here, and return that respect", I think he would do it.

Some news -Brock Lesnar has been calling Vince McMahon on a weekly basis, but Vince has yet to return any of Brock's messages sources say. Vince may be trying to ice Lesnar and let him know who has the power where these negotiations lie.

Lesnar has a non-compete clause which does not allow him to join any other fighting organization including TNA, MMA, K-1 and others. Basically Lesnar has not bargaining power when it comes to the WWE at this point. If Lesnar is brought back for a return, many believe he will have to re-earn the respect of his cohorts and Vince McMahon, because of the way he left. He would likely have to do the job to the likes of JBL, Batista, Cena and others just to prove himself again.

Many also believe that Vince will eventually sit down with Lesnar and discuss a possible return because of what's "best for the company." Lesnar hopes its sooner rather than later, because his finances are dwindling already.

There are also reports that Lesnar would like to work part-time, to which WWE would probably not agree. Lesnar want's to work part-time because it was the travel that drove him out of WWE in the first place. This could be a large hangup as far as the two sides reaching an agreement.

i got Smackdown vs Raw for christmas, and honestly, i dont think it lives up to all of its hype. It is great in many ways, bt it is also flawed imo. I understand though how some of the changes open the game up more. Before, where there were only afew "level 4" moves, like the the F-5 etc, i felt compelled to chose only those moves, and now, with the huighest being "level 3", i have more choice. I dont like the dirty and fair playing thing. That limits my choices of what to do, and also, if there are two faces in a match, one has to fight dirty, is that right? I think they have some very good new ideas, and hae brought back some of the good old ones, but they need to work with them more, and make them more open ad detailed.
Another thing that is annoying me is that you cant use the left analogue stick to move the character around, i cant use the directional pad. They should switch those functions around.
I love that Powerman 5000's songs on there though. Does anybody know if/where i could get that "the way it is" by him?
I like the different songs on there.

Lesnar looked cool when he first started and was 5 fiving everyone. But why did they get rid of his monster gimmick as he grew more popular? oh well, I woulden't mind seeing him back if he did come. he was allright.

I have not heard anything like this, but it wouldn't surprise me if it were true. Lesnar walked out on the company with basically no notice, and that will not sit well with any employer, but especially not with someone who's business is to market people so as to make money. Lesnar was a top attraction for Vince, and in my mind, when he saw that things weren't going to go his way, he walked out. He's going to have to abjust his attitude in a major way to get back.

The no-compete is true, everyone signs that as a standard of their WWE deal. There's been speculation that Vince may bring Lesnar back simply because he could go somewhere else and make them some money. Personally, I think it would be a good idea to get Lesnar back if for no other reason then he could go somewhere else, and make them some money. I don't see Brock as having great chances with something like MMA, maybe, but not great, MMA would require a great deal of commitment by Lesnar, and a willingness to be able to get a beating on a nightly basis. I don't think he is though, I think Brock wants to be a star, he wants attention, and he wants to be a big star. So I really see Brock either going back to WWE, or trying to hook up with TNA.

Many also believe that Vince will eventually sit down with Lesnar and discuss a possible return because of what's "best for the company." Lesnar hopes its sooner rather than later, because his finances are dwindling already.

That part I find dubious. From what I understand from people who have sources within the industry, Brock lives rather modestly, and saved and invested a substantial amount of the money he made with WWE. Aside from his one major expense of buying a personal jet, Brock was not spending big, or changing his lifestyle to a more lavish style. The only way I could possibly see Lesnar having financial troubles, is in his possible chase of the NFL job, although I don't see why Lesnar would have spent most of his money attempting to get that job...I mean...nobody is that stupid...right?

There are also reports that Lesnar would like to work part-time, to which WWE would probably not agree. Lesnar want's to work part-time because it was the travel that drove him out of WWE in the first place. This could be a large hangup as far as the two sides reaching an agreement.

Yeah, Vince already has Taker doing that, which sort of makes sense because of the way they book the character. But yeah, for the amount of money Lesnar will probably ask for, it just wouldn't make sense not to make him work full-time to get it.

Well, unlike Hulk Hogan, Rock's movie career took off, and he's very in demand in Hollywood these days. So Rock is now a part-time wrestler, showing up between movies and trying to help out when he can. Although his ability to get away and appear is becoming less, and less, frequent.

I was watching some of the ecw dvd before I had to go to work. So far it's an awsome dvd.

It made me think of this fantasy match:
Vince vs. Eric vs. Paul

It would probably be the worst match ever but at least it would be intersting.

I SUCK! I missed the first match on RAW! Damn it!!

Oh well, still, here's the review

Kraidle's RAW IS... REVIEW!
******
Chris Jericho vs. Christian: N/A
Well, the rundown for tonight was that the people that were going to be in the Elimination Chamber would be competing in timed matches, and the one with the best time would be the last one in, but if they lost, they would be replaced with the person who pinned them. The only thing I saw of the match was when Jericho got his hand raised by the ref. Jericho's Time: 10:47

Evolution Segment:
Here, Triple H is worried about who he was going to face tonight, while Batista said that he was confident. Then, they talked about how Hunter was the Champion, hinting the usual plan.

Randy Interview:
Nothing interesting here, Randy comments about how he will be the last one in the Chamber and the last one standing, as the World Heavyweight Champion.

Randy Orton vs. Maven: 3/5
This match wasn't all that good, but there have been a LOT worse over the year. Randy mimicked the Infamous RVD DDT here, but it wasn't as good. Randy got the RKO after a game of reversals, and destroyed Jericho's time. Randy Orton's Time: 6:14

Lita vs Molly Holly: 2.4/5
This match completely sucked, on both parties. Trust me, the only move that was good was the nasty-looking DDT Lita nailed at the end.

Snitsky Chase:
JUST after the match, Snitsky appears and chases Lita all over the building, leading to some "Conference Room", where Lita locks herself up. Then Bischoff appears and makes an official match for New Year's Revolution: Kane vs. Gene Snitsky.

Rosey vs Simon Dean: 2.7/5
Meh, meh, and meh again. This was pretty boring, but there were some highlights; just not ones worth mentioning. Dean put a belt on, and after failing a slam on Rosey, Rosey takes it off and tries to hit Dean with it. The ref tries to take the belt, and distracts Rosey enough for Dean to get a pin.

Edge vs. Eugene: 2.8/5
ANOTHER crappy match! Well, it's better than segments. Edge speared Eugene out of the ring just before the clock counted to 0, so, he didn't break any record. The match ended when Edge made Eugene tap out with the Edgecator (I believe it's called that). Edge's Time: N/A

Bischoff Segment:
Eric is talking to a mystery person, and is glad when he tells Bischoff that he can make it to the arena, as this person is the special guest ref for the Chamber. The, Coach comes in to see if he could know before everyone else who the red is, but Eric refuses, and simply says that none of the competitors will be glad about who it is.

Chris Benoit vs. Viscera: 2.8/5
Yeah, I thought that Viscera had quit, but nope. He was Benoit's opponent. And just before Benoit succesfully applied the Crossface, he German Suplexed Viscera. After the Crossface was on, a bit of time passed before Viscera tapped. Chris Benoit's Time: 5:43

Stacy Segment:
Well, I'll be damned! Stacy's resolution is that she'll bend BACKWARD and FORWARD so that the year will be better! Pffffff. But Asad came out, and interrupted her, and started bitching about the Arab-Americans, and how more than half of the Americans think that the Arabs should have their civil rights removed, blah blah blah. What really got interesting was when Asad punched JR (cutting him) and got into the face of King.

Batista vs Rhyno: 2.8/5
Yep, I also thought that Rhyno was out. This match was EXTREMELY fast, and Batista did not do anything but taunt Rhyno, even after he got Gored. However, Batista would prevail, destroying Rhyno and Benoit's time with 2 Powerbombs. Batista's Time: 3:02

Iraq Tribute:
It was worth mentioning, just a little recap of the Smackdown! Show in Iraq, with a cool song.

Asad Segment:
I don't really know who was in before, but Asad and manager barged into Bischoff's office, and demanded a match with Lawler and JR, because they "spread propaganda that is offensive to Arab-Americans". Instead, Bischoff made a debate, them against King and JR.

Triple H vs. Shelton Benjamin: 2.9/5
Actually, a pretty good match, if not a little sloppy. Everyone else was sitting at ringside, just to watch. Nothing terribly interesting happened, and Hunter was not able to beat Batista's time. Triple H got the pin after some interfeirence from Flair. Triple H's Time: N/A

Special Guest Referee:
If you guys did not see this from a mile away, you are blind. Blind like hell. Shawn Michaels will be the ref for the match, and Bischoff was right, as EVERYONE had a very disgruntled look in their faces.
******

That's all! I'm Kraidle, bitches!

Response to The Wrestling (WWE) Club 2004-12-28 11:36:31

update:

According to a 1wrestling.com rumor, it's quite possible Paul Heyman is completely gone from WWE.

As has been covered pretty well the last few weeks, Heyman is no longer part of the writing team, nor does he travel on the road to work as Heidenreich's manager. In addition to that, it was recently discovered that his bio page on the SmackDown! superstar listing has been removed completely.

With rumors of an ECW pay-per view (the talk is a June PPV in New York City), one would wonder how it would be authentic enough without the touch or input from Paul Heyman. This is what many ECW loyalists were afraid of when hearing the rumors of WWE considering reviving the brand name under their umbrella.

Heyman has kept his contractual status with WWE relatively private, so no one knows for sure where he stands with the company right now. One would assume TNA will be jumping all over him if he is in fact completely removed from any WWE obligations.

Now this really sucks. Possible the worst to happen right now.

Well, I've checked my sources at PWInsider.com, and all they're reporting is that Paul Heyman's biography was removed from the Smackdown! Superstars page, and that he is not currently on the road as Heidenreich's manager, nor as a part of the creative team. He may or may not be home working as a script consultant. Honestly, I don't trust much from 1wrestling anymore, ever since the PWI guys took off, they've been shoddier in they're reporting, I think mostly because Ryder and Styles left it to those guys to do all the work. I think they're honestly just trying to stir things up and drive up traffic. There's no evidence Heyman is gone, he's been pulled from TV like this MANY times before as we pretty much all well know. It's true he keeps his contract situation private, but the impression I have is that he's still there for a little while, and I honestly don't see why he would leave considering all the money he lost in ECW, Paul lost everything there, and to go out into a bad market, with even the biggest company around taking a hit does not seem to make sense for him to me. Plus, even if Vince dosen't like him, or his ideas, he knows the value of keeping Paul under lock and key, and away from anybody else who WOULD use him and allow him to improve their ratings. I think the idea that he's gone is crap until I see some solid evidence otherwise.

Yeah the disappearing weapons suck. I like doing dirty tatics the best but does anyone know how to successfully do a low blow? I cant do it anymore. Easy way to boost the dirty meter weapons, break your on pin at 2, attack the ref be careful your not Dqed. Clean I think diving moves are the best way.

In seaon mode you start with 2 on each attribute and you work your way to the oringal not 100 sucks balls so theres no point of doing many season with different superstars to get the pionts up, so just use the same guy get every thing unlock the rake up the (wwe logo) cash and buy exp. points for your caw. Plus Cena does talk during seaon mode is it the same with yous.

I was watching the ecw dvd and sandman v. mickey whipwreck for the title and some guy named Steve Austin comes out and talks and stuff I think its stone cold but I am not sure.

I was looking for the brainbreaker to use but I could find it so its vertabreaker now. Fire thunder = rikishi driver Cyclone=F5 or they could call it torando but to much confusiion with t. ddt t. armbreaker etc
