First of all the god that is Rick Rubin is producing it. Every album that man touches turns to gold, and he's so fucking versatile its untrue. RHCP, Mars Volta, Slayer. He knows his shit.... then again, he lets artists do what they want... which will mean better lyrics... but even worse drums :P.

Secondly, Rob is an amazing bassist. He'll knock some of that good old Cliffness into them. And hopefully he'll break Lars' jaw then he starts ranting about cymbals sounding "arty".

Rob is a great bassist, but to me, he's just going to be a hired hand. I mean, I can't even see a personality in there. He's silent, and doesn't have much to talk about. He just plays what they tell him to. Now to me, that's not going to make a difference in the song writing factor.
