Is The World Needs A Hero a very good album? I've heard it's a weak Megadeth album but you say it's their best. XP
See, Id have to go back and listen to the whole thing right now to tell exactly why I love it so much, but I'm going back and forth from the computer doing an art project.
It's my favorite RECENT megadeth, and just happened to be my favorite album at the time I joined here. But I fluctuate through favorite albums atm a lot.
Right now Im stuck on Countdown to Extinction.
But anyways, Hero..well..I just like the raw darkness of it. He was all kinds of hurt and pissed when he wrote that. Burning bridges, 1000 times goodbye, lyrics to When, Promise, war horse?etc..
Iunno, I just think the album has distinct hits on it. I never heard people call it their weak album. If anything it was their comeback after making Risk. Maybe I heard wrong.
I think it was their curve to going back to thrash rather than mainstream, imo.
well...depends which songs, some are very thrashy, like warhorse and burning bridges, some areradio type, 1000 times good bye, losing my senses, and some are slow, promise, when..
I cant musically really justify this album, i just like the attitude, the rhythme, the emotion, and the variety of it. Whenever Im in a bit of a twisted mood, I usually go to this album.
I guess sometimes it isnt about being harder, faster, and thrashier when I go to Megadeth..
Everyone listens to everything for different reasons I suppose, and I love this album for its emotional impact that all other albums have failed to deliver to me.
Just because Im not as picky with Megadeth, and tend to like different albums for very different reasons, doesn't mean I have "light" taste. Jesus lord. I just look out for different elements I like. Being broad about a BAND and having light TASTE, is two different things.
I wish i would be able to get to what Im trying to say in less ramble and long posts. D:

I, too, listen to a lot more heavier stuff today than I ever use to, but heavy != better.
Oh cool, do you listen to Death/Black Metal too?
Death.
Black is too slow/bass/lack of melody for me.
I prefer the fast, harsh, and melodic ways of death
