Ha-ha! That was the most triumphant thing I've ever heard, I love it. Hypocritical? That maybe one of my lowest traits - I'm only a hypocrite when justifying something I believe in - at the cost of another.

No wonder. Sometimes I think your really a genious -S-.

Erm. Yeah. And that really goes hand-in-hand with the next bit.

So, I was talking about anime, and yet I wasn't. Great. Erm. Anyway.

Anyone seen .Hack?

No, but I've seen Deep Inside Sky Lopez - I personally think it is very similar to .Hack.

Close one to call. What is an "Anime video-game?" A game based on an existing anime, or a game like Tales of Symphonia which has only an anime styling and cut scenes? ToS rocked btw.

Yes, it did rock - it would have rocked even more if there was more anime cut scenes. I only noticed a few and the intro doesn't count. Kratos Aurion is the man.

Let me ask if Disgaea: Hour of Darkness counts. No spoilers please.

The voice acting was excellent and really brought out the characters. I think the story was great but some of the actual dialouge was just miserable. It kinda tried to shove peace, love, and equality down your throat. But the game was just too innovational and well done to let the dialouge writers slow it down.

I do agree on the lack of cut scenes though, I guess it had somthing to do with the production costs since both Production IG and GAINAX were in on it.

Yup that type.

Yes it did. I just wished that they would have told us the name of the tree at the end. Either way Raine was the best Girl and Half Elf there.

Sweet! Now I'll finally be able to watch the end! Wait, are they showing from the beginning, or from where it was left off?

Arg! I've heard... "Why didn't we get the name of the tree?" ...so many times! It's up to YOU the gamer to name the tree, because you control the main character who's charged with the task of naming it. Frankly, I though it already had a name, "The Great Kharlon Tree... which is what I named it. Anyway, I think what really made ToS a great game was the fact that it never really lets the plot slow down, which is quite a feat for a game that takes a minimum of about 60-80hrs to beat.

Of course, for anyone who lives in the UK, this news matters very little.

What a complete shambles.

I don't remember the title of the first episode of the series, but the first episode they will show is titled
The Handsome Swordsman of Legend
Which sounds like it would be the name of the first episode to me. However, I, too, would love to see what happens after Shishio.
You gotta admit though, the fight between Kenshin and Shishio was pretty badass.

Response to Anime Club 2004-10-23 19:54:23

What the heck does Kenshin mean when he says "Oro"?
This only applies to the subbed version though. I don't get the cartoon network.

I can't believe it. I made a spelling error.
<places entire body into an oven and turns on to cremation temperature.>
Glad that wasn't my body I put in there. Sorry Jack old buddy.
And -S-, why do you say that it doesn't matter to those of you in the United Kingdom? Do you get this stuff before those of us in the States, or something?

No, it's actually a quote by Tonny Montana which in fact is a Communist. I'm not saying I am, nor am I saying I believe in Communist/Capitalist values - but overall the message is true.

Sorry, it was a joke. I've just never seen anyone point out a spelling error before in someone sig. I have further interest in being at odds with you. Flame wars are pointless.

Anyway, does anyone consider any fighing games as "Anime games?"

Hey, you know it was rumored that when Lenin was alive he was part of a secret society that's been around for centuries.

Here I am! Now what are your other two wishes? I'm impressed Seiken, how long has it been since your last vacation? I saw you on-line yesterday so you must be closing on 48 hours of freedom (lol). How's things in the world of Warcraft? Still one of the top ranked players on the net?
