That's some taste I can get behind. Misato was probably my favourite before rebuild kind of ruined her.

I've noticed a huge difference between the Kiss x sis manga and anime.
Its the same thing as books being better than movies. More space to describe things and include additional scenes.
At 11/10/15 05:05 AM, Vixuzar wrote: Am i the only one who thinks that there is some manga better than the anime?
That's generally what happens when the anime is made before the manga ends, due to the fact that anime creators can't really just sit on it until the manga is completed, which could take a long time before that happens, if it even happens at all. In a lot of ways, the anime is often used as advertising the manga itself, and if it turns out to be successful, then they can make more anime for the other parts of the manga, if not, then they would simply cut their losses and move on. {anime producing has always been done on the cheap, at least for TV series.}
This is part of the reason why light novels adaptations are more and more common now than anime based on long-running or delayed manga, the LN series is either completed by the time the anime is made, or if not, can be completed and even added on relatively quickly. {i.e Haruhi Suzumiya}

Kill La Kill is a good one.

Why not Noragami or Accel World? If you're looking for something more childish, there's Reborn!. If you want it to grow up, give him Akame ga Kill! (WARNING, he might grow up without you knowing) and if he's just a pervert hand him Ben-To.

How old is he? For some lighthearted shonen, I'd go for Orphen, Outlaw Star or Trigun. And anything Lupin is like 7/10 at worst, which has your humor and action. The second series and Secret of Mamo are my shit especially dubbed (yes dubbed, not subbed) but Burn Zantetsuken, Fuma Conspiracy and of course Cagliostro are up there.
At 11/10/15 05:05 AM, Vixuzar wrote: Am i the only one who thinks that there is some manga better than the anime?
Are you kidding me? Manga are generally better than the anime due to the fact that anime tends to leave things out, add in fillers that screws up the story line, and ends before the manga was anywhere near as such. A majority would think the manga is better for the most part.
You're not the only one thinking this.

Episode seven was a great. I agree that this series has been more exciting than that one.

It's a really cool anime, Definitely worth watching.
I loooove Darker Than Black. almost like Japanese X Men. The soundtrack is also pretty sweet. Was kinda bummed by the ending of the second series, but it was still good, too.
I used to love staying up 'til 5am to watch Case Closed and Lupin the 3rd on Adult Swim. It was teenage me's favorite shows at the time. So I cant really express how geeked I am that I found the Detective Conan VS Lupin the 3rd movie on Hulu. I really have no words for this right now and honestly cant figure out who I want to root for
And now that I watched that, I gotta find an earlier cross over movie that this one kept eluding to. As a fan of both series though, the 2013 movie I just finished was a great combination of both parts. Even if I missed a lot from Case Closed's 300+ episodes which I'll be lucky to have seen even a quarter of. I guess I'll be getting on that soon enough.

Me too. I've lately been using YouTube to occasionally rewatch earlier episodes of dubbed Detective Conan/Case Closed on my tv, usually when I'm getting ready to go to bed.

Ah, I still haven't seen that. I'm much more of a Lupin fan. Love most things Lupin, but I've only seen a little from the '90s and later. I think Return of Pycal was the first thing I saw past the '80s. The second TV series is still the ultimate Lupin for me though lots of the movies are great like Mamo, Zantetsuken, Fuma Conspiracy, Cagliostro etc

That's an issue I have with that series. It needs an ending. Lupin can go on indefinitely in a bunch of forms because it's just Lupin and gang continuing to steal shit while Zenigata will never catch them. But with Detective Conan, this poor guy is stuck in a kid's body and those guys that did it to him are out there. That's some shit that needs closure. I mean you can still go back and be like this is some other case that happened before the ending.
What's the crossover they were referencing?

I agree. Something like Case Closed needs to actually be able to close the case. There was a little girl I'm not familiar with hanging out with Conan's kid friends who was apparently part of that shadow organization who was given the same poison as Conan. This movie was from 2013, so that means even as recent as 2 years ago they were still digging the hole deeper plot-wise rather than trying to fill some of it in. Oh, and that little girl also apparently in her adult form knew and worked with Fujiko in the past. Maybe a 3rd crossover is where it ends? They do seem to want to tie the 2 shows closer together.

I don't know yet. But right from the start Conan and Jigen knew each other, Jigen even knew Conan was really an adult. There were random flashbacks to some royal assassination caper that Team Conan worked on. Lupin kept mention it "This time" as if they ran into each other before. And Conan is way intimidated by Fujiko because she apparently one came onto him really strong. There just has to be a prior movie for all of this to fit together.
EDIT: so it looks like it was a Japanese tv special from 2009 that only just hit north america this year

Toonami was much better when it was longer. It just does not feel the same now that it ends so early. Case Closed and Lupin the 3rd are both great shows.

If you started out with the dub of series 2 like I did when it aired on AS, you might like Secret of Mamo. Has the whole cast from that dub.

lol The irony of the name just occured to me, like how Final Fantasy never ends while NeverEnding Story had its final fantasy 20 years ago.

Oh, I think this is the one I was thinking of when you brought it up. Didn't know about the newer one.
binge read all of the translated chapters of boku dake ga inai machi, i'm hungry for more
went into it blind, the beginning wasn't super interesting and felt a little generic but once the first major event happens then you just can't stop. murders, time loops, milfs, suspense and thrills. an anime adaption has been confirmed for the winter season as well which is being handled by noitanima so keep an eye out for it
Toonami is a marathon of Parasyte the Maxium. I wonder how low the ratings will go?

I've only seen the first 2 or 3 episodes, but I was actually digging it more than a lot of the other recent Toonami acquisitions. Certainly beats the fuck out of that overhyped SAO. I'll catch up online when I feel like it.

Too bad it's not going to end any time soon since the series have been ongoing since the mid-1990s. The author of the manga even said that he already got the idea for the ending and that was years ago.

this final arc is great, much better than naruto's for sure. kubo keeps delivering cute girls so i can't hate him.

The fact that it has gone this long already is kind of mind-boggling to say the least, but not surprising considering how the plot seems to move at a rather slow pace, though having loads of characters and giving most of them some sort of backstory will do that to any series. Bleach is one of those manga/anime series that I really have mixed opinions about, one on hand, it's a poor man's version of Yu Yu Hakusho with long, complicated plots, stereotypical shonen tropes up the wazoo, {even if it is somewhat entertaining} and loads of characters that are hit or miss at best. On the other hand, the art for the most part is fantastic, the OP/ED music is pretty catchy, and most of the fights are surprisingly entertaining, by shonen standards at least.
More or less, what Bleach does right is actually decent, and what it does wrong, well not so much.
On an unrelated note, I'm still working my way through LOGH, about 30 episodes in to be precise. Yeah, this is starting to be a bit of a grind now considering that the pace has slowed down, {not to Bleach levels, but noticeable nonetheless} but I'll see it though.
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.
