Mars of Destruction was legitimately awful (though it's kind of one you have to see) and the anime of School Days is deeply flawed in more ways than just the premise, (the plot is only the tip of the iceberg) but the worst anime that I know of is a tie between Psychic Wars and Green Green. At least Green Green had some sort of story, but they fucked up everything else in the process, Psychic Wars is essentially a bad rip off of Doctor Who and any Shonen story, and while the English dub was atrocious, (even by early 90's standards) the original Japanese audio actually managed to be worse, probably because they knew it was awful, so they just decided to phone it in.
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

I hope it's a joke, it has to be.
I mean, Sakura actually has a fan base? That's surprising if you ask me, I don't hate Sakura despite my misgiving of the series down the stretch for the most part due to the messages they have in regards to villains being sympathetic. With the way the manga ended, it's as good as it can get, with the character I liked getting the well deserved ending being a bonus.
In other note, can anyone believe that "Yawara" and "Monster" were written by the same manga author?

Trigun is by far my favorite anime, it has action comedy, drama, and perfect character development. The show had a great cast of lovable characters and an amazing plot. I still hope for more but it's unlikely. Love and peace vash, love and peace.
Also wolfwood is the coolest character from that show. Just saying

I did enjoy Trigun, but it is not my favorite.

You might love the manga, Wolfwood was more badass in the manga and actually had a much more manlier death unlike the anime where he gets shot because he held back.
Also, Legato was gay in the manga and follows Knives for saving him, leading to a crush. In the ending, Knives turns himself into a tree.

You might love the manga, let me tell how you it ends just to make sure. :D
Someone told me once that the manga's story is more 'complete' and expands more on the setting and characters, but the anime's story is more philosophically endearing.
Hey, what do you guys think about those side-mouths in animes?... I mean, why do they draw them that way? It really annoys me somehow. Sometimes I'm so pissed, I just need to pause my anime session and drink coffee to calm my rage.
Example included -.-

Man I love the manga, I'm still collecting the maximum seris cause there were quite a few of those. I really want trigun multiple bullets though. My favorite line from it is when Meryl and Millie are looking for vash and instead find a cat, Millie's respon...... He turned himself into a cat!
Oh the picture below is a little something I drew.

It doesn't enrage me but theres been a few times where it throws me off for a moment. Like it takes my brain a few seconds to work out how it's meant to percieve what I'm looking at, kind of like a perspecive illusion I guess. I probably don't even notice it for the most part.
I have been rereading the early chapters of "Skip Beat" and started to wonder something about Kyoko. Do you think that she might have been one of the ghosts from "Grudge" who somehow receive an amnesia and was adopted by a normal family to be raised as a human?
In a way it could explain why her dad have been missing and her mom generally treats her like crap in the flashback before eventually abandoning her.
Plus, she also has dark aura and happens to be surrounded by demons whenever she gets angry, not to mention the voodoo dolls she made and sometimes talks to. Even befriended a little girl named Maria who seems to have an interest in the occult for some reason...

HELLO I AM WORKING ON AN ANIMATION STORY I NEED PEOPLE TO ASSIST ME WITH IT
I'm currently watching Armored Trooper VOTOMS for the first time. I'm 16 episodes in, just starting the second story arc, and it's pretty cool so far. I don't quite love it as much as a lot of people seem to, but apparently the first arc is the weakest so hopefully I'll get more invested as this story progresses.
Highschool Of The Dead is on Netflix so I watched a few episodes last night, I'd forgotten how ridiculous the fanservice is.
First season of Psycho-Pass is also on there, if you haven't seen it check it out. Just think Ghost In The Shell but waaaay darker.

legendary Seiyuu Shikao Otsuka passed on the 15th of January. He was know for playing Goeman in Lupin the 3rd and voiced Big Boss.
Also Origa, composer and singer of some haunting tracks on Ghost in the Shell passed away from Lung Cancer on the 17th.
So yeah, the Anime world got two shit hands this January.
Rest in power to these people.

I understand why a lot of people dropped the anime.
I hate censoring and it can really ruin anime.
At 1/22/15 03:13 PM, Vinnyy wrote: I thought about watching the anime, but almost everything is heavily censored, so I decided to read the manga instead.
IIRC, Tokyo Ghoul was censored because it was aired on TV, which pretty much censors all of the gory messes. That said though, there was no real reason why it should've been censored from a pure aesthetic standpoint. The DVD/Blu-Rays are supposed to be uncensored, and the airing of the series was meant to be advertising. Shows like this that are popular but have objectionable content are usually reserved for late-night airings on Japanese TV, they rely on DVD sales {among others} to get their money back on a project.
As for Guilty Crown, I've already talked about it in my newsfeed before on the high caliber presentation and music, but the characters and scriptwriting essentially dragged down the series. Considering that a lot of the same folks that made Code Geass was involved in the project, I was pretty disappointed in the spiritual successor to CG. Unlike CG, it just took itself way too seriously for it's own good, particularly when Funeral Parlor and GHQ are both equal parts psychotic and retarded at times.

It also doesn't help that it led to a massive hatedom toward some of the seiyuus as well, especially the guy who voiced Shu. The guy is still popular among the anime industry but he also became a base breaker to the point that the hate even spilled to his other characters he would voice such as Issei and Eren.

Censorship is a terrible way to destroy art and creativity.
It is a nice cold night and just enjoying some anime. What anime are you watching tonight to help keep you warm?

I finally got the last two Hellsing Ultimate installments, but I haven't watched them yet. I was gonna watch 1-8 again first. Other than that, I'm just catching TTGL and Deadman Wonderland on Toonami. DW feels like it's supposed to have really deadpan humor, but it's probably not intentional.
At 1/27/15 03:10 PM, Vinnyy wrote: Just wondering, where/how do you guys watch anime?
I've gotten a pretty good anime DVD collection over the last like 13 or so years (and a few on VHS since longer ago, some bought and some copied). Not huge, though. And I have several movies and a few series on my external HD. That and streaming sites and I've occasionally rented stuff from Netflix (no Netflix streaming for me). Plus a few shows on TV since Toonami came back. I don't download anymore, though, cuz the sources I was accustomed to are gone but I still have all the stuff I got.
Watched Serial Experiments Lain for the first time over the past two days. Not quite the "groundbreaking mindfuck" some people make it out to be, but an interesting watch and I really enjoyed it. It's definitely a series that can be more appreciated over multiple viewings, and I'm sure I'll end up watching it again sometime soon.
If you've seen it, what are your thoughts on it? If you haven't seen it and enjoy cyberpunk with heavy focus on existential themes, I definitely recommend it. Really cool show.

I thought the actual content of the show was kind of boring and it never really felt like much was at stake but I really enjoyed the aesthetic with the big hulking late 90's computer rigs mixed with cyberpunk.
It's neat but I dunno if i'd watch it again or anything like that.
I know I've already asked this, but I don't feel like going back a shit ton of pages to find it. I guess I'm getting back into anime, so what are some good short anime? Preferably something that is available for free on Crunchyroll or some other streaming site.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is 12 episodes.
FLCL is 6 OVAs
Aku no Hana (this is a really soft recommendation because I liked it when I watched it but a lot of people HATED it)
and there's Kyousougiga, which I couldn't really get into, but might be something worth watching.
There's a good chance you might've seen them already. There's also things like Little Witch Academia and films that might fit your criteria.
I haven't heard of any of them, let alone watched them. When I used to be into anime around 5 years ago, I was into be into the really common shit like Naruto. So far I've watched all of WataMote and I'm at episode 7 of Oreimo. Oreimo is fucking weird, though. And some asshole on /a/ posted this, so I know how much weirder it gets.
