Is that the creature from Gurren Lagann? neat. I saw stuffed toys of Totoro, the cat bus, and the soot creatures and wanted to get one of them for my niece, but I was like "nah". I would have liked one for myself, too, honestly.

So, looking on rightstuf.com, I see nothing but "hybrid" DVDs. Will these work on an X Box and a regular DVD player? This site has a lot of stuff I can't find elsewhere.

Also, I got myself another Lupin movie, Bye Bye Liberty Crisis. I still haven't watched it. I never get tired of Lupin.

Symphogear had an alright debut, but it was full of cliches.

I'll never get tired of these kind of shots/moments.

Also, music and action/fight scenes were great. By far the best parts of the episode.

Yeah, they should work on DVD players. I'm assuming it'd work on Xbox as well.

Not sure about the BD/DVD hybrid disc(s) though.

Timchik, the first one, I don't know, but the second one sounds like Voltron.

You could try reddit.com/r/tipofmytongue or reddit.com/r/anime to find the answer. Those can be helpful.

Try and remember the years, station and possibly attack names, character names or anything that would stand out in your mind about the shows other than what you've listed. If you can I'll try digging around a bit more. Didn't find anything that fits your description but it's pretty vauge and there are no keys to go on.

That second one makes me think or Ronin Warriors or Saint Seiya for some reason but I know it's neither of those two shows.

So, I've been checking into the Winter shit.
I've watched Another, Ano Natsu de Matteru and Nisemonogatari. All of which are pretty meh. But they're holding my interest enough to watch another episode.
Anybody got any other recommendations?

Daily Lives of High School Boys
It was certainly a lot better than I had initially anticipated.

I just went ahead and watched it. I must say, it is pretty damn funny.
Definitely keeping an eye on this one.

Holy fuck FUCK. Please tell me someone is still watching Chihayafuru, this episode was fucking INTENSE. That was possibly the most exciting episode of anything I've ever seen.

are we thinking of the same chihayafuru? I haven't seen an ep since about 5 or 6 but it was almost as distanced from intensity as aria

Hmm I should be more active on here:

Anyway, I've been watching a lot of Sgt. Frog lately. Mainly becuase I've been trying to find a Laugh out loud show like Shin-chan....It's nothing like that but in a way it is sort of amusing. I believe it's by the creator(s) of Gundam if I'm not mistaken. It's on Netflix so give it a shot.

Other then that I got Afro Samurai, Elfen Lied (This ones gonna be a toughy), Excell Saga ( Though I might stop if it still is really annoying. And thats about it I guess

you should finish excel saga. I found the ending pretty swell. I, RandomRoarness Vi Britannia, command you to finish the show as well as Code Geass if you haven't seen it.

sidenote: Elfen Lied is a good show. you should also read the manga while your at it :D

So, figured I'd come and check this out again after it's been quite some fucking time since I've been even on newgrounds. What d'ya guys think of Nisemonogatari?

In before complaints about long drawn out dialogue. My main complaint is that I thought this was going to be a damn prequel, not a sequel.

Kizumonogatari is the prequel movie, and it's coming out sometime this year (maybe).

I've watched Nisemonogatari and I liked it, but it's only the first episode so I'll have to see where things go from there.

Aww yeah boi tell me that shit wasn't intense.

Obviously she'll lose or they'd have nothing to do in the next ten episodes, but even still it's fucking rad.

Sucks that will probably be the case.

At least Chihaya took some cards and didn't get completely steamrolled.

got more Lupin movies. Hemingway Papers, Legend of the Gold of Babylon, and Dead or Alive.

Babylon was only okay, pretty oddball compared to other Lupin films/specials. Dead or Alive is fucking great, though.

I also recommend the new Lupin III special: 'Blood Seal - Eternal Mermaid '. They have a new voice cast for the most part, but they play their parts well, and it's a pretty fun tv movie.

Well, so far I've loved all the Lupin movies I've seen. I've seen Castle of Cagliostro, Secret of Mamo, Fuma Conspiracy, Return of Pycal, and Burn! Zantetsuken. I thought they were all awesome, but then I may just be a Lupin fanboy. I'll see if I can get my hands on that new one you mentioned. It's doubtful, but I'll try.

I'm currently at episode 85, although progression has been pretty slow recently mainly because I'm struggling to find decent justification for my heinous time schedule drawn up by work. I want to watch anime, but by the time I get in the mood to watch it I'm ready for bed (about midnight each night I sit down in bed, get ready to watch some anime, then pass out).

What episode you on?

As of right now, 66, it'll be much later by the time I go to work later today. And yes, this is definitely a must watch for any sci-fi anime fan. I'm not even done with it yet and it's already in my top picks.
