Oh sweet, more nerd pandering 'drama'.

But seriously, grabbing it now. Hope it's good because I was not the least bit impressed with his other works.

So, I finally watched Clannad.
And well, I have a rather mixed opinion.
You see, I grabbed the Clannad series about two months ago, and started watching them the next day. I watched episodes 1-3 and was like "Wow, this is some of the most boring shit I've ever witnessed", and dropped the series. And then, the day before yesterday, I had finished watching everything else on my pending anime list (MAYO CHIKI WAS SO FUCKING GOOD) and I was bored. So, I thought, hey, why not try watching Clannad again? That day I watched episodes 4-18. For an anime I thought was so awful, it ended up being so fucking good. So, now I'm watching Clannad After Story, and I hope I don't have to sit through another boring experience.

But anyway.
Have any of you guys tried watching MM! ?
Seriously? What the fuck is this shit?

Duno if this is the right place to ask this, if it's not then feel free to spank me, but I've got a sudden urge to watch some decent anime, but I don't know where to begin. It's a genre that I wish I was more clued up on, because every anime movie I've seen so far I've loved. To be fair, I've only seen Spirited Away, and a couple other Toshio Suzuki films, Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke etc. and yesterday I saw Metropolis which I loved.

I'd just like some more films like that, and I realise that this will probably sound like me going into the metal club and say that I really like slipknot and I'd like to hear some more recommendations. But anyway, recommend me something decent to watch.

Nah, it's alright to ask here. But I swear I've been more or less posting the same list the past few pages when someone asks for something to watch.

But anyway, recommend me something decent to watch.

I posted a list as well as a link on the previous page.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is a nice film that I forget to add to the list there.

Suzuki was producer for a lot of those films you mentioned, but they were all mostly directed by Hayao Miyazaki. They're his films.

This is kind of a no-brainer, but if you liked those films. You might as well see everything else Ghibli. Including Whisper of the Heart, Only Yesterday, Nausicaa of the valley of the wind, Kiki's Delivery Service etc. Couple dozen more, to boot. Those films have more of a slice of life/fantasy tone, something more calm and poignant except for Nausicaa, which was his best environmental work.

Other anime films to consider would be:

Barefoot Gen
Ghost in the Shell
Like the Clouds, Like the Wind
Who's Left Behind?
Wings of Honneamise
Summer Wars
Sword of the Stranger
Perfect Blue
Akira
Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro
Galaxy Express 999
Neo Tokyo
Urusei Yatsura: Only you
Urusei Yatsura: Beautiful Dreamer

Watched Carnival Phantasm. If you are a fan of Fate and Tsukihime and actually played the VN's you'll love it.

What if you've not seen anything related or ever played a VN in your life? I realise that half of the internet seemed to go absolutely nuts when carnival phantasm was released, but as someone who's got no clue about it, its forefathers, or anything, will I still appreciate it?

Good to know. I'm actually quite excited to watch it tonight. I've got everything all set up, the downstairs is all nice and clean, got a few grams of budder. Stoked, man. STOKED.
But speaking of Clannad, it was really neat watching the alternate world one, I think Okazaki fits better with Tomoyo. I just think Nagisa is such a timid-minded frail little girl.

Have any of you guys tried watching MM! ?

Shits weird mang.

Well, I thought it would be like Mayo Chiki (Which it is actually rather similar to), but to my dismay it was nothing more than a piece of shit that I would feel disgraced using as a cumrag.

Anywho-
Have any of you guys tried watching 11 Eyes? I've only watched the first four episodes, and it's pretty fucking great! Although, it's almost like being force-fed a melodramatic and cliche story at the beginning. But so far, I think it's been pretty awesome.

And I've watched the first two episodes of Bakemonogatari, and I think it's pretty funny. Not hands-down hilarious, but still pretty good.

And last but most certainly not least, Kaichou wa Maid-sama! I'm loving this series. It's definitely one of the better anime I've been watching recently. I've really found myself enjoying Kaichou wa Maid-sama due to it's art and animation. Not to mention AYUZAWA MISAKI IS MY WAIFUUUUU

The Series is very in jokey. Some of the jokes you won't get if you haven't played the VNs and some you might if you only watched the anime. But, if you're familiar enough you won't miss much. You can still read the VN's as Fate and Tsukihime both got mirror moon translations. And you can probably watch the Melty Blood routes on youtube. But otherwise, if your a fan of fate or tsukihime you'll get a laugh or two out of it.

Dude, Clannad After Story is pretty fucking boring so far. But it's still mildly entertaining, I guess. I don't know, I'm only on the fourth episode right now. It kinda feels like when I first watched Clannad and thought it was the most boring shit until it got into Fuuko being a ghost and shit and everything got entertaining. I just feel that Katsuki Shima is a complete tool that needs to grow balls and I don't care about his love for the stuck-up girl, I wanna see bad things happen to Tomoyo like I heard.

So I finally saw that marvel anime on G4 and could not get into it at all. It felt very cliche and the art style bothered me. With X-men wolverine reminds me of assorted monsters from spirited away, mainly because of his mouth and hair. Iron man just looks like a very shiny man lady. Also it should be a drinking game to see just how much the camera pans into someones eyes.

I tried watching the "anime" Iron Man on Netflix. It was just a gay marvel cartoon that took place in Japan and they had trendy eyes.

Watching Stellvia of the Universe and it's decent. The CG looks and moves nice (not much 'jerky' moments).

Eh, it was alright. The art was oustanding, with some great animation for some of the fight scenes and some absolutely jaw-dropping backdrops and scenery porn moments, although it was pretty generic in terms of ideas, and borrowed heavily from nausicaa and laputa: castle in the sky. The actual film was pretty straight forward, and had a fairly unremarkable conclusion by all accounts.

But as far as a source of new desktop backgrounds goes, 10/10

edit: SPOILERS AHEAD!
I did like how despite the obvious potential, they completely discarded any theory of the teacher being asuna's dad early on, wasn't expecting that. Also liked asuna's decision at the end of the earth or whatever.

There's something really bugging me, I'm trying to think, but there was some film or book maybe (pretty sure it was western) where some village chief or whatever is expecting a sacrifice for some ritual or offering or something, and then his son turns up and he's like "no, not this! this is not what i meant" that had massive similarities with the ending of children who chase voices, and I can't remember what it was.
