It's not very good.

It definitely is not for everyone. I liked Afterstory; but Clannad was almost unwatchable for me at the start. The first season is mostly just setting the stage for Afterstory. Most of the character development, and drama is in Afterstory. If you don't like cute girls though I would just drop it, and find something better.

See, that's the thing. I'm only on, like, the fifth episode or so, and it seems all that's been going on is slow, slow, slow character development. It's fucking boring. I'd rather watch Lucky Star, or K-On!, you know. Something mindless and cute.
fuck yuo idiote
Yeah, Clannad S1 was pretty crap. You may like S2 better since it is better, but only if you have the patience to make it.
eh, there are better romance series out there, anyway.
Finished Gundam 00 s2 and the movie, pretty uninspired, doesn't really break any new ground. I really don't understand why people were shitting dicks when this was still airing.
Oh
oh wait
They've never seen a Gundam before EXCEPT FOR WING BECAUSE OF NOSTALGIA LOL.
meh, reasonably entertaining, though.

Either Wing or G Gundam. But point still stands.

You should check out some other romance/drama anime. A few of my favorites are 5cmps, The Placed Promised in Our Early Days, and The Millennium Actress. Some others that you might want to see are Angel Beats, Planetes, Time of Eve(kind of romance), and Whisper of the Heart.
As for myself I don't really have any Anime I really plan to watch this week but I will be watching Mulan tomorrow. I heard a coworker singing the 'lets get down to business' song and I cant get it out of my head now.

Desert Punk and Now and Then, Here and there are both awesome. HSotD wasn't great, but gets a lot of undeserved hate. Yes, the fanservice was dumb and the characters got annoying at times, but I refuse to believe anybody says that show wasn't at least a little badass.
At 11/5/11 10:31 PM, AngryBombshell wrote: What do you guys know about Soul Eater?
The art style and animation are exellent and the action is awesome, but the humor is really annoying and I can't freaking stand Black Star. He's almost as insufferable as Naruto. I still haven't seen the entire show. I left off when Death was about to fight that super badass kishin who's covered in bandages.

What? I thought Solid State Society was sick. Also, the first segment of Neo Tokyo is one of my favorite animated shorts ever. Movies don't always have to have a completely coherent plot to be good. Have you ever seen Eraserhead? That was a good movie.
And you really should see Genius Party and Genius Party Beyond. They're both really good. And if you're not ashamed of laughing at immature, sophomoric humor and you like awesome action, I highly recommend the Korean animated movie Aachi wa Ssipak. Nobody here seems to be taking my word for it, but trust me. It is awesome. And if you like interesting, trippy sci fi and unique art style, you should see the French movie, Fantastic Planet. It's based on a child's book from the Czech Republic. It's one of my favorite movies. Also, there's a short film compilation called Sweat Punch which isn't so great overall, but there's one short called Junk Town that is excellent. I'd watch it just for that. And there's another short in that compilation called End of the World that is cool. Kigeki and Higan are just okay.

I can't really choose a favorite song off of Crimson King (they're all amazing), but I love "Thela Hun Ginjeet" and "The Sheltering Sky" from Discipline. For Starless, it's "Fracture." I couldn't get into this album at the first listen for some reason but it's been growing on me ever since.
film list
I'll be sure to watch (some of) them out during the weekend. I should be finished with Kaleido Star by then, and I need to catch up on this season's anime.

Listened to it yesterday. It's just beautiful ambience throughout, and I loved every second of it.

For in the Court, my favorites are I Talk to the Wind and 21st Century Schizoid Man, though the whole thing is great. On Discipline, my favorites are Elephant Talk and Frame by Frame. And for Starless, I'd go with the Great Deceiver.

A lot of the stuff I mentioned is not available on DVD in North America, but they can still be...acquired.
Watched castle in the sky recently. I really liked it, particularly the actiony themes and old school animation, and the lack of CGI really makes it seem a lot more authentic.
Starting to watch .hack//Sign,
I remember watching it on TV when I was a kid, but I never really understood it.

This is a signature.
What sort of thing are you looking for? Action? Drama? Comedy? Cute girls doing cute things?
What kind of length? A film? 13 episodes? 26 episodes? 100 episodes? etc etc

I'm not really too fussed, but the only thing I can't stand is Drama, and I'm looking for something around 10-30 episodes.

Baccano
Darker Than Black
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Azumanga Daioh
FLCL
Serial Experiments Lain

You're missing out on some of the most incredible series' out there with that kind of narrow-minded thinking.
Try Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom
Sophie is Leon's sister
Haha, called it. Although it was pretty much a giveaway when they showed her silver hair.
Leon and May have been growing on me since the beginning, and I can't wait to watch the finale.
I finished watching Neon Genesis Evangelion today and I just wanted to vent my opinion on the series. Figured this would be the best place.
I think the first half of the series was a bit meh-ish. It seemed to mostly focus on the giant mech suits fighting weird giant monsters element and I don't really have such a hard on for fighting robots to be frank (at the time I watched those episodes assuming they were robots). There were some sideplots going, but they didn't have much depth yet and the characters (apart from Shinji) remained a bit shallow as well which didn't make them all that interesting.
Also, I'm fine with them showing that Shinji is maturing and looking at tits and everything, but sometimes the "fan service" in the first half of the series was a bit too much in my opinion. I have no problems at all with sexual content in media, but I prefer that it does serve a purpose to the story and isn't only there for the viewers amusement.
Anyway, I think the second half of the series is very good though. I like how the plot thickens, the characters get more depth and the series gets much more exciting altogether. The mysteries and events that occured are very interesting and made me want to keep watching on to the end. I am glad I pressed on through the first half because the second half is definitely worth watching. And in hindsight, I guess it's only good that the series took its sweet time to build up and introduce the characters and the universe they're in.
I found that the last two episodes were a bit unsatisfying though. I get that they were reflecting upon themselves and I could guess what what was going to happen with Rei and Lilith and everything, but I felt that there were still some loose ends that were better not left unexplained. I think I'll enjoy The End of Evangelion much more as an ending from what I've read from it.
All in all an interesting and refreshing watch in my opinion. It is definitely good and I can see where the series got its popularity from.
I didn't want to get my hopes up at first but the return of the Hunter X Hunter manga has been great. I didn't even realize how much I missed it until it finally started coming out regularly again and now it is the one series I most look forward to getting updated every week. Easily the best currently running Shonen series imo.
This new series of Berserk movies/ovas better go beyond the point where the show ended. Also, Miura needs to stop fucking around and finish his damn comic. Until then, I'm not reading any more volumes.
I DIDN'T CRY AND CLAP AT ALL
DON'T YOU JUDGE ME YOU FUCKING JERKS
10/10
might watch Genius Party tonight.
