While I need to find a Gate of Seventh Heaven that doesn't violate my ears with static, or just suck it up and play it on VLC. And then watch Paradox Spiral for the fifth time, and then either the seventh again or the epilogue.
and I'm stalled on Battle Moon Wars because I'm trying to get battle masteries.
And now it seems I do need that stashed away New Game+. That or just shut up and enjoy myself when I reach a serious jam halfway through.
Yeah, I'm thinking I'm back.

It's not as bad as I've made it out to be now that I've finished the first series (although CG still sux), but it did have quite a bit of QUALITY moments. I think I saw a comparison to Eva in a review, but I'm not seeing it to well, though that's probably because it's been a couple of years since I last saw NGE.
Starting on the second series, Misaki Chronicles, and my first impression is that it's more or less a retcon of Divergence. Lack of CG (or perhaps it's just better-handled) is an improvement over the original, and it's much more "lighter" in tone.
You guys im going to do it, im bored, mad at marvel vs. capcom 3, my stupid sister (who always has something negative to say about anime) is gone, im going to do it, im going to watch gurren lagaan. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?
It's an awesome show, man, just don't go in expecting the GREATEST ANIME EVAR.

Well...I did it. Hey can you guys tell me what order the episodes are in? youtube doesn't label them as "episode 1" or "episode 2," it just calls the episodes by name....im not done with episode 1 yet, i paused the video to make this post (i'll check back when the episode ends) just want to be sure so I don't get confused. "bust through the heavens with your drill!" is where i am now.

Well..im done with it. Should have expected the ending to have a preview of the next episode. On a sidenote. boobies. boobies and fuzzy creatures hiding in them.

Summer Wars is not the most original thing, and the romance is left in the back burner, but that doesn't stop it from being a perfectly entertaining and moving film.
But the thing is, I DID like it. You're acting as if I was tearing the movie apart when all I did was say what held me back from loving it. Just because I say I don't like something AS MUCH as I wanted to, doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it at all. I guess you ignored me when I said that it was interesting and extremely entertaining.
Anyway, I'll check out this guy's other movies when I get the chance since my Bluray collection is lacking.

After watching it up to the hot tub episode, was I suppose to expect anything less? I haven't enjoyed anime this much since dragon ball Z.

Y'know. You don't need to pretend that watching an episode of an anime is a matter of life and death.

but my head exploded from the shear awesome of watch 4-5 episodes in a row. i stopped at the hot tubs as mentioned before and will now share my incredibly obvious thoughts: it was awesome.
It has a loveable cast of characters and plenty of funny moments. Although....I heard the final episodes are very sad and will make you cry :(
I don't want to cry....
pic related (as to how much I don't want to cry....no I just wanted to post it). That village episode was creepy guys O_o

It's not even that good of an anime that you need to watch it all in all one go. Gurren Lagann was okay. That's it, Kamina was an awful character and I didn't like the heel turn at the end of the seires for my favourite character in that anime.

Monster got much much much more interesting after episode 20 or so. The antagonist has only gotten progressively more villainous and now that I finally have a clear vision of what his motive is he's much more interesting.
Lunge is still a moron and I cannot conceive of how this man continues to delude himself even though proof contrary to his idiotic little fantasy is all around him.
"But Lunge I saw him, here's a photo"
"Nope, he only exists inside Tenma's head, I will not be swayed"

Problem is that he's just way too confident in his skills. He's plenty competent, but he takes things to a logical extremes with his theories, and doesn't always see what's right in front of him. That said, Lunge is probably my favorite character in the show, he develops a lot during the course of the show. And he too becomes quite involved in what's going on.
Finished Misaki Chronicles. First impression was wrong because it really picks up during the second episode and about halfway through the season, SHIT GETS FUCKING REAL. There's still the issue with the CG, but if you've made it this far in the series, it's easy to get use to and the character designs, while nice IMO, just don't really get along with the atmosphere/mood of the show. The ending was alright.
Overall, an improvement over the original that I really enjoyed. Still has a bit of QUALITY, and fairly average animation but that shouldn't hinder -- at least, in my opinion -- your enjoyment of the plot and characters. The important SCIENCE/technobabble is explained (e.g. parallel/infinite universes, quantum barrier) in an easy-to-grasp way.
Now I'm gonna watch Kaleido Star + read the Sailor Moon manga.

Oh good. Thought you were gonna watch more junk~ Those are good choices, I approve of KS specifically.

Yeah, I haven't been watching the best of things lately but I wouldn't really call them junk ;_;
Kaleido has an interesting premise -- there's not much stuff that I've come across that revolves around circuses.

Eventually he has to accept that he was wrong and I think that will be one of the more enlightening moments for his character.
Fuck year, Kaleido Star does not disappoint. I'm just on the fifth episode, but I'm already hooked on this amazing show.
Infinitely better than Divergence Eve, though it's not too much of a fair comparison and it doesn't take much effort to accomplish that anyway. The music and CG, in particular, are. Sure they might be considered bad studios to some, but RADIX (Eve) definitely deserves a spot in shit-tier, but it was the first anime I watched from them. So maybe I stumbled upon one of their worst shows. I'd definitely take Gonzo (Kaleido Star) over them any day either day.
>that feel when you empathize with a character.
Something KS manages to do easily in the first episodes that Eve did terribly in its whole run.

Wut?
Started watching Kaiji, amazing anime, only a few episodes in and it's incredibly intense. I was put off by the crazy art style at first but I've grown to like it.
Anyone here have any suggestions for movies that I can add to my collection? Specifically, movies that are avalable on Bluray? I already have both of the Evangelion movies and Summer Wars. I was thinking of buying The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

Paprika is a good movie. Think Inception only alot more confusing. Insanely hard to understand but very pretty to look at.
Also consider Tekkon Kinkreet, one of my all-time favourite feature-length animes, and I saw it the other week for just £5 used on blu-ray. Absolutely gorgeous atypical art, with a stunning soundtrack to boot. It's about a couple of kids growing up and facing the modernisation of their town, with some heart-wrenching moments in the second half to boot. Could not recommend it more.

Akira.

Sword of the Stranger, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind and Wings of Honneamise
I like how the performances in Kaleido Star are way more fun and exciting to watch than some DBZ/shounen fight where people are moving at the speed of light^999 and beam-spamming like crazy (don't get me wrong, I don't really HATE them). Perhaps because they're realistic and you feel like you're part of the audience. The costumes in this show are fabulous as fuck, too.

If you haven't already, check out Fukumoto's other stuff when you're finished with that. Most, if not all, of them are worth reading/watching.
