Anyone even slightly a part of an anime community knows the ending of NGE; regardless of whether they even watched an episode or not.

<spoilers>
It's inaccurate to say they die. They become one. They no longer exist at the same level as we do but they do exist. This is true in both the series ending and the EoE ending. In the EoE ending they even had the ability to get there bodies back if they would rather have a life with individuality.

For all of you giant Dragon Ball nerd super-fans like myself...

What would you think about a short continuation of Dragon Ball Z? Maybe one more story arc (as long as all of Freeza, Cell and Majin Buu's). I could go for it... but, only if Akira Toriyama actually wrote and drew it with all the original voices with no bad plot holes like in GT. Also they need another more serious villain to be the next main bad guy. The last one (Majin Buu) was pretty silly until he absorbed Piccolo and Gotenks along with Gohan soon after. I really liked that Buu, he's by far my most favorite and the most powerful. BUU'S ORIGINAL FORM ("Kid Buu" IS NOT THE STRONGEST BUU. THE DUB SCREWED UP AND MISINTERPRETED THE ORIGINAL SCRIPT FROM THE MANGA. Why would "Kid" Buu grow weaker by absorbing a ton of REALLY strong fighters along with probably half of the planets population? There would be no point. Super Gohan Buu is by FAR the strongest. He is at least twice as powerful as "Kid Buu."

Also before anyone says "lawl noob Majin Buu does get weaker from absorbing Dai Kaio!" That is totally different. For one; he is GOD of the whole universe and secondly, he was very kind hearted and gentle, but very powerful. Luckily, Buu could not properly absorb Dai Kaio's full strength because Dai Kaio somehow found a way to suppress Buu's total power while inside his absorption pod. But, that's just the half of it. The other way he helped sooth the savage "Kid" Buu was by having a love for sweets and lots of food. These peronality traits carried over fully to Majin Buu and because of this he would rather stuff his fat face for hours on end and have fun destroying the planet for his amusement. Slowing his Destruction of Planets VERY significantly.

PS: Just to clarify: I don't consider Dragon Ball GT to be real or even remotely CLOSE to resembling canon. It never happened in the DB universe. It's just horrible. I'm not just saying that because I personally don't like it (which I do) It's because Akira did not even write like, 99% of it and it was never a Manga to begin with (like all good anime). I like to pretend it doesn't exists... BECAUSE IT DOESN'T. End of story. Talk about GT too much and I will drive to your house and STOMP you.

Yes I know know, Holy fucking shit. Too long didn't read. That's okay. I don't expect many people to read this is full. Just Tassio if anything.

---------------------------------------W ARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD-----------------------------------
----------

His name is actually Light Yagami or "Raito" with an 'R' since the Japanese have a very hard time pronouncing 'L' for some reason.

The police THOUGHT he's an assassin? He is, and not only that, he goes wfar beyond the boundaries of a mere "assassin". He becomes a full blown egomaniacal head case near the end of the series who commits MASS genocide with out batting an eye and will kill his friends and family if he must. He has no heart and cares about nothing but a complete and utterly perfect happy fantasy paradise world where nobody EVERY does ANYTHING bad EVER. That's not how it works...

Although, I am speaking pretty ill of Light, I can easily see both sides. Light Yagami: A a genius middle school - high school student just want to live in a world without all the "bad guys" At first he wasn't so bad but, in a VERY short amount of time (Like 2 episodes) he becomes jaded and horribly corrupt. This could be for two reasons. Number one... It was just his true evil nature rising to the surface or perhaps the notebook has some sort of power that causes the user's view on morality to become a twisted and distorted lens of dark intent.

I guess it's up to the viewer to decide if that is the case. Also, It's left up for interpretation for the viewer to decide for themself's for whom they want to win in the end. The world isn't even close to black and white. Even the most despicable crime can usually be traced back to some inkling of a good natured thought gone awry.

Now, for your question. Do I think Light is a true "assassin" or a "JUSTICER?" That's not a real word but I think you mean to ask if I think Kira was just a cold blooded crazy ass wipe mass murdering scum bag who enjoyed killing just for the sake of fun? Sure I do. Do I think deep down somewhere down in his cold, black, shriveled up heart lies a good person who's view of morality and justice were blown way out of proportion? Yeah, I do. Unfortunately, Light Yagami was almost entirely consumed with drunken, corrupt and wicked power. So much so, he could kill the whole universe if he thought it would help and probably not think twice about it.

There was still good somewhere deepdown in Light Yagami's soul before his death in the final scenes inside that old abandoned warehouse... But not much. It had been coated in a think blanket of hate and malignity and no matter how hard you tried to lift the covers from off of you they just kept growing tighter and tighter. They are far to heavy. He's a "good" guy... but, he went about changing the world for the better in the wrong way.

I say all this bad stuff about him but the first time I watched through Death Note I rooted for him to win most of the time and even though he lost in the end I think the final episode was a very satisfying ending to an EPIC series. The next 2 or 3 times I watched it I rooted for L a lot more, especially after I saw the scene where L tells Light that he is the only friend he has ever had... and he hoped that Light was not Kira because he would lose his only friend. Then again some part of him WANTED it to be Light. Light was his only lead and all of his assumptions up until then were based solely on him. Like I said Many shades of grey in this Manga/Anime Epic. DEFINITELY in my top 5 Anime.

Right just looking at the picture of Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari has reminded me how god damn fucking fantastic it was.

You should all watch it right now, it's a 12 episode OVA series and it's fucking brilliant.

I'm not a member of the club but I was hoping to hear some opinions about Durarara. Adult Swim has recently started showing it and I was not impressed by the first episode so I'm wondering if it will pick up and get better or if I should just stop wasting my time and find something else to watch while I wait for FMA.

It will pick up and then it will maintain itself then it will pick up some more then it will begin a steady decline that continues to the end.

Also if it's the dub phbhpthbtpbht

According to wikipedia it only has 25 episodes. So what does that mean? Ten of them are good?

Sounds like a horrible waste of time.

12 or 13 are quite good, then a few after are good, then its pretty average. If you get attached to the characters through the good episodes though it's nice to see it through to the resolution.

Season 3 of Black Lagoon doesn't have an English dub yet. I'd feel like i'm betraying the first two seasons by watching in Japanese.

Yeah, I much prefer the english version myself. I need to get to that new ova eventually, better to wait until the last one comes out though. Also disappointing that years later the story is still not going much places.

I think the whole thread they're on now is kind of neat but still wholly unnecessary

I'm on One Piece episode 133 now too, great series. I might start watching this anime called Fairy Tale too, I've heard good things about it.

Fairy Tail is great

I know some people who went to that. I've never actually been to an anime convention, despite the fact that Anime Boston is held only about an hour away and that other anime conventions are always within a few hours drive.

Are they actually any fun? I get the impression that it's just a bunch of naruto or haruhi S. fans running around talking about how awesome they are.

ummm not always there were a lot of hetalia, Black Butler, even Street Fighter, speaking of they have gamerooms :D

Trigun
Amazing show, one of the best.

Indeed

Hetalia
Black Butler
I've never even heard of either of these, are they any good?

Hetalias a tad gay but enjoyable if you appreciate other cultures as for BB Its pretty damn good, It's on Netflix too

I actually just watched Cyber city oedo 808. In the original Japanese dub, that guy said something like "vampires are tragic creatures, forever young but forced to feed on human blood forever". Funny how they changed it like that in the English version.

hah. I have Cyber City on VHS. The second OVA is definitely the best. I would have preferred that they forgot about the effeminate vampire and kept the big dude as the main character in the last one.
