Baccano's an absolutely fantastic series. It's a bit hard to keep track of in the first few eps but once you figure out the various timelines it becomes amazing. There are some amazing characters in it, and it has some really stunning moments. Sure a lot of people just go "Oh isaac and miriam they're so wacky ahahaha!" but there's so much more to the series than that. You will do very well to keep with it and wait out the first ep or two until it starts to make sense.
After watching the series, I went back and re-watched the first episode and it's amazing just how straightforward it seems being aware of what is actually going on, and also just how much of the plot it gives away if you pay attention and make connections enough.
Also at the suggestions of a friend, I'm tentatively starting to read manga.
At his suggestion I started reading The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer. It's somewhat of a parody of shounen, in a way. It's essentially about a boy who's approached by a talking animal, who offers magical powers and a wish of his choice in exchange for helping to save the world. Sounds pretty standard, but it's full of subtle jabs at cliches and tropes, absolutely stellar humour, and some pretty decent drama too. Suffice to say I'm enjoying it.
Anyone have any manga they recommend I read? Pref some kind of action/drama/comedy type thing but I'll take all sorts.
