Watching Hunter x Hunter, pretty cool so far. Wish this was on American tv back when I was a kid.
I watched the Kaiji live action film. It wasn't too bad, but of course with it's 1.5 hour running time it couldn't do justice to the story of the manga. The Brave men road scene was well done.

I'll probably read the rest of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure next, but since I'm so indecisive I might get something else instead.
I heard a lot of Gunsmith Cats, pretty cool. You should watch Riding Bean since I think it's a spin-off or something.

That's really the point.
I'm trying to set up a situation where it goes off and people look at me and I'm all B-)
Just watched Paprika, and just like with Perfect Blue I'm still not entirely sure what the fuck I just witnessed.

I remember trying something like that a while ago at school, and it didn't really work for me. That's why if I find a particular anime theme song I like, then I would find the song, and download it to my Ipod.
Anyway, finally finished the original Golgo 13 series, and I was really impressed with the action and quality of the show, considering it's around 40 years old. If I get the chance, then I would watch the OVAs as well, {if I can find the DVDs on Ebay or something.}
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.
i want to watch anime, is youtube good??
and do i watch strike witches or komodo no jikan first?

something along the lines of inception's first script i think
Also just finished Speed Grapher, pretty good premise, less than perfect execution. Loved how every character was three dimensional, the internal conflicts of all of the antagonists, etc. Didn't really like some of the episodes just being pretty generic "here's a new enemy with a new power go kill him okay you just did great", a bit dull. Also I thought, while it made sense and was quite neat, saiga's power was, well, pretty dull. They exhausted most of the tricks that they could do with it pretty early on.
Nevertheless plot was pretty gripping, and the interesting characters bump it up a couple of points.

I just finished Toradora! today. I suppose a potent alliance between curiosity and my on-a-whim demeanor got me into it. I really liked it as a whole, but even I must say that it could've been improved, especially the ending (as charming as it was). I was also pretty surprised to see the reversal in bento delivery roles.
Also, I'm starting to realize that asskicking tsundere lolis are pretty fucking awesome. Thank you Rie Kugimiya.
I use the term "loli" lightly since Taiga's supposedly 17 though most of the series. Of course they'd circumvent such allegations with a single number.
then again, who gives a fuck.
Happily ETS'd.

youtube is okay i guess. i think funimation and a few other companies have channels there where you can watch full series. there are other methods and sites though.
and do i watch strike witches or komodo no jikan first?
since i have no clue about those two series... go with what interests you the most. that or look up some reviews.

I think they really decided to forgo action as the focus (no pun intended) and wanted to develop (no pun intended) the characters.
I myself enjoyed the sensuality and decadence of the characters. The way the characters, primarily antagonists, sort of indulged themselves into a sort of madness. It made it very dynamic.

Youtube has a decent selection of anime, although it's largely well known titles and very few obscure ones. There are other anime sites like ANN and Dubhappy that have more anime, so if you're looking for a lesser known anime series, then ANN and/or Dubhappy would be your best bet.
and do i watch strike witches or komodo no jikan first?
My knowledge of those 2 animes is rather limited, so my best guess would be watch Strike Witches first and see if you like it.

Yeah, I enjoyed some of the villains' powers being gross caricatures, such as the dentist or the prime minister. They were pretty stunning.

I think he's joking, bro.
Tsukihime has been a great read. I've gotten through four of the routes (all that's left is Kohaku), and I wasn't disappointed by any of them and their endings -- yes, even Ciel.
Arcueid = Akiha > Hisui > Ciel
I can't wait for the prequel, Mahou Tsukai no Yoru, to be released. The release date on Wikipedia is December 24th of this year, but since it's been in development hell for a while, I think it'll be delayed again.

Maybe, the ending was rather sad, but I never really shed a ny tear over sad endings, with the possible exception of CG R2, now that was a moving moment IMO.

I've seen bits and pieces on Adult Swim and it looks promising.
Actually, I already have the box sets for both seasons, and I'm thinking about buying another one for a Christmas gift for a friend of mine.
And yes, it's totally worth it. IMO, Code Geass is one of the best mecha action series I've seen in the last 5 years and you can't go wrong with picking it up, and R2 as well. {though you might want to check ebay or amazon for the R2 boxset.}

Watched Welcome to the N.H.K which was pretty good, made me cry. Now watching Ergo Proxy, then after that Dennou Coil. So glad I have my computer back.
I'm reading 20th century boys by Naoki Urasawa, the author who made Monster. Yet again he has crafted a brilliant multi-layered story with a colorful cast of characters. It also has a lot of references to 60´s rock bands like T-Rex and The Beatles, which is cool.
Finished Ergo Proxy, pretty good but a bit heavy handed with the philosophy. Time for bed.
I just finished watching Shigurui Death Frenzy
I have to say it was a beautiful show from a visual standpoint, very graphic in its violence but at the same time it doesn't feel exaggerated and is always realistic.
At the heart of it, the plot itself, there is a great deal of intricacy. The anime sticks very closely to the actual history of the time period and sometimes the ethics and morals of teh time period are almost startling in how realistically they are portrayed.
All in all i was very impressed with this series
It takes a while to get into it, but don't give up, deep down there is a very interesting story to be told.
So... I'm sort of interested in picking up the Gundam series... but, like, where do I start? Looking at the list of series on Wiki, there's nearly 30 different ones, each looking to be different from the last. So, where should someone completely new to the series (and genre; I typically don't watch mecha anime) start?

I would suggest you start with either the original series from 1979, or Gundam Wing from the 90's. Although most of the Gundams series have similar plotlines much like this:
A fascist organization gains power with space colonies,
Gundams fight against said evil organization in some sort of rebellion,
Governments find a way to either help evil organization, or simply get in the way of the Gundams,
Gundams defeat the enemy and ride off into the sunset, so to speak.
It's very much like Star Wars, but with mechs.

Wow, you guys were right. I just watched the first episode of K-On and it sucked.

I'm not really worried about it too much, partly because I don't think they wouldn't be able to enforce that law too strictly, nor is any business is going to be affected, unless they do something out and out stupid that would attract the cops. Although with that said, the main target of this law seems to be the otaku crowd, huddled up in the Akihabara district of Tokyo, which is obviously considered the Mecca of anime and manga. I kinda thought that somewhere in America, {most likely in a hardcore red state or city}, they would pass a law as stupid as this, but from Tokyo, that's a bit of a surprise.
Perhaps the older people that are in power in Japan view the otakus much like people view hippies in America, the only difference between them is that hippies smoke pot and sing all day, and otakus watch anime all day, and other stuff they do that I'd rather not get into excessive detail about.
