I'm not familiar with the second series you mentioned, though now I'll be looking into it.
I never thought When They Cry was really too violent, though it has it's moments...

Its ridicilous how Higurashi is trying to be a serious show but the character designs make it resemble happy tree friends.

It's just as violent, except with some retarded magic thrown in every once in a while to add to the mystery. Or something. Check it out, it's worth the watch if you enjoyed higurashi.

I just love this guy's style. This show actually managed to make having an incredibly tense scene intercut with a ridiculous looking monkey trying to steal food off a table work.

That show is so great. I should rewatch it. I have it on DVD (burned).

And whatever you guys are doing, you should be watching Aachi wa Ssipak instead.

I find Edward to be one of the least sexual characters in anything ever.

So, I couldn't wait any longer for the haruhi movie to hit dvd and watched it. Fuck, what a great movie. Some parts had me d'awwwwwwwwwwwwwing so hard. Quality was shit, but I'm going to rewatch it when the dvdrip comes out. All you need to watch to get the movie is the first season and the first episode of the second season. Any haruhi fans here should really check it out.

Fucking nagato man. I used to hate that bitch but I see why she's all over now.

I liked that character in the first season. She was the source of some of the funnier moments in the first season, and some of the more badass ones. Haruhi was also funny. Mikuru had a tendency to be annoying. Too 'moe~!'

For the second season, I've heard a lot about the 8 episodes with minor variations.

Can you just watch the first one of those, and possibly the last one, then move on with the rest of the episodes and be able to understand the second season?

I thought Paprika was great. That's why this news angers me.

I'm already freaking tired of remakes of foreign films that came out less than a decade ago. There's a lot of those.

And yeah, Tokyo Godfathers was fantastic.

Alright so if you liked it why worry?

I haven't seen it already and I found the english version of Tokyo Godfathers to be perfectly tolerable acting wise, certainly for an anime.

I'm not expecting Princess Mononoke but I still think that trailer convinced me that I'd like it.

I probably won't see unless i'm lucky though, just like Tokyo Godfathers.

More importantly, though you haven't seen paprika, it's not a film that I can easily see translating to live action. there's a lot of crazy shit that goes on, probs 3/4 of the film is in scenes that would need to be CGI reproduced, which just means its either gonna need a budget of avatar-ean proportions or it'll look shite

plus the guy even said in the interview that he was watering it down to make it more accessible. you cant expect people who liked the original to approve of watering down

plus yeah, remakes almost universally suck

I was wondering why you were in favor of the news presented.
I don't believe I've ever seen a live action version of any video game or Anime that didn't suck tremendously.
It may have been funny seeing John Leguizamo fag around as Luigi in Mario Bros the Movie, but this is a fine example of what we have to expect with this "more mainstream" live action version of Paprika.
