So I'm watching the live-action Yatterman right now (no subs- I'm badass like that :P) and I'm wondering both WTF Takashi Miike was smoking and what Eirin rating this movie got.
If this were to be released in the US, it'd be an R at least.

that is, if the MPAA doesn't ban it first

Seriously, they marketed this to KIDS?!? There are BARE BREASTS (not used for their God-intended purpose at that) blatantly shown! As well as a (ENTIRELY) pants-less scene with Boyacky (Katsuhisa Namase)! (Unfortunately, Odate-Buta got in the way of that one...)

According to wikipedia, there has not been an english version.

Maybe you're just on drugs?

It must have been subtitled because to be honest I cannot for the life of me remember the English voices.

So most likely i'm wrong, sometimes when I read subtitles they seamlessly embed themselves so It's likely I remembered wrong.

Either way I still wanna see this Paprika movie, not the Americanized one.

i'll start:
Sho minamoto CAN divide the square root of an negative integer.

I've never really liked Mikuru. No personality in plain sight.

Can you just watch the first one of those, and possibly the last one, then move on with the rest of the episodes and be able to understand the second season?

Just watch the first season and the first episode of the second season. You can watch the movie understanding everything and not spoiling anything else from the series. The quality is bad, but I really didn't mind it. Glad I didn't wait until the dvdrip to watch it.

No, it's an obvious shop.
Did you read what was in the word balloon next to her? It's a katakana spelling of Lady Gaga's song "Bad Romance."

Unfortunately I cannot read katakana

So no, it wasn't obvious

I finished the Yatterman movie and it was FUCKING EPIC.
While I was doing some digging to see if I could find the Eirin rating for the film (to no avail; the official site is dead and Wikipedia and all the links on both the English and Japanese pages turned up nothing), I found some sites claiming that distributors in 30 countries are wanting the rights to it.

Who wants to take bets as to who gets it and what's going to be cut out?

lmfao you do it to. besides, look at this place. thinking that any of the rules are actually followed is quite laughable.

bought the vampire hunter D artbook 'Coffin' today and it's pretty nice from flipping through it. also got the 4th graphic novel along with the Ghost in the Shell graphic novel too. looking forward to getting the time to read those along with the Halo and Gears of War comics i got as well. handful of new games as well so it's gonna be a good three months indeed.

Considering somebody is trying to make a live adaptation of fucking PAPRIKA, I can be certain it's going to be bad.

Though, if it HAD to be made by somebody, I'd choose Terry Gilliam to make it.

Just watched Castle In The Sky. Oh Ghibli, shine on you crazy diamonds.

I really need to get the DVD's for Totoro and Spirited Away -- I've seen both, but as rentals, and I really want to stoockk up my Ghibli collection.

I recently watched my very first episode of Cowboy Bepop, for the second time.

Yes, the exact same episode I saw maybe three years ago was on again on Adult Swim, only now I remember more of it.

It was the episode with Mad Pierrot

I thought it was pretty cool. I might like to start watching, but I don't want to start something and then not finish it.

The entire series is quite good so I highly doubt that you'd not finish it. Give it a whirl sir.

Yeah, I'd suggest you finish it. I don't always end up finishing series, but I've never seen one that was disappointing.(I'm pretty sure I misspelled that.)

Anyway, I'm back. Anyone see anything good? I'm too bored to speal these days.

I've been watching the dub of spice and wolf lately (on episode 7 aotm) and I must say Funi did a good job of dubbing. holo's voice is very fitting. and so is the other guys. and before anyone starts on me, her name IS holo. the show itself is very interesting. I really didn't see it going down that path when I heard about it a year or two ago.

I might be risking a ban for this, but Yatterman is awesome.
I've seen a good portion of the 2008 remake and it has blown my mind.
Now to finish it and move on to the original...

Both really solid films. I still have the one put out by Fox before Disney switched all the voice actors and re-released it.

I'm guessing it won't be long until DVD's are on par with VHS's and suddenly we'll all be updating our Blu-Ray collections.
As much as I hate to admit the inevitability of me buying such a player, I'm pretty sure seeing Akira in Blu-Ray would be otherworldly.

Us PS3 users don't have to worry about buying a Blu Ray, you might want to buy one just because it's cheaper than an actual Blu Ray player/

Well, that's a bit of a non-issue, since I watch them in Japanese with subs -- if the DVD's over here have a dub, it's in finnish and a few other nordic languages, and while I'm sure somme of them might be good, I'll just sticck to the orignal voices.

Greetings, Anime Club. Yes, I know it's been ages since I last came here...

Anyway, I'm starting on Claymore, and so far it's really good. Any more decent anime worthy of recommendation?
