No, I would much rather see an original movie rather than something that's based on a cartoon. Hollywood has really lost its creativity, it seems like every movie that comes out is always based off of a book, TV show, comic book, or in worst-case scenario, a remake of another movie. Sure, a lot of great movies have been based off other works, but I prefer to see original ideas.

Anyway, I just think the whole anime being turned into a movie thing is a bit dumb. Things are animated because they would be too strange to see in real life. When you make a live action version of something animated, it completely kills the purpose.

...You mean the movie they already made or what? Anyway, if you're adapting a story in a 1,5 to 2 hour movie, of course you have to make the actions different from a 24-episode serial.

Honestly I think Keanu Reeves is a great choice for Spike Spiegel.

He's already demonstrated that he can do fighting in movies, and he's pretty good at being aloof and sarcastic.

I personally find him extremely bland due to a lack of personality. Whenever I watch one of his movies I always get the feeling that he doesn't even care about what he's doing. He just seems like he's bored all of the time.

I don't think Keanu is a good actor, really. He's acceptable as Neo and Ted. Spike may not be a demanding role, but I don't like Keanu Reeves.

I watched the first episode of Shugo Chara Party! on Friday and I have to say I was somewhat disappointed.
They've cut the actual anime episodes in half so they can fill the rest of the time slot with plotless Flash animations of Ran, Miki, Sue and Dia and useless commentary from the Shugo Chara Egg! girls (they're still holding an audition for their fourth position, so that's what they primarily talked about).
But I'm still glued to it :P

Other than that, I watched a couple of episodes of Skip Beat! and was disappointed. I thought it was going to be like Kirarin Revolution but I was wrong.

I found it boring because it was boringly written and directed.

The animation was fine, but wasn't impressive enough to counter the bad things about it.

I've been watching SyFy's Ani-Monday, since it's the only new anime I can find on TV, and it's a little disappointing. The Street Fighter and Voltron Motion Comics are okay considering the format, but the anime series, Monster, just doesn't appeal to me. Every character seemed unlikable, so I couldn't bear to watch all the way through episode 1.

Anybody hear about this yet?
