Look up "trava" on Youtube. It might still be there. It was a very brief series of very short episodes. wasn't bad. I'm pretty sure it had some of the same people behind it. Besides that, you have Gurren Lagann, and what I prefer over all those including FLCL, the Dead Leaves OVA. Dead Leaves was awesome.
I was just watching Bakemonogatari and there was a commercial for darker then black. The animation in it looks good but is the show good?
Read the first volume of some yuri manga called 'Girl Friends' out of boredom and part of the second volume. I read these on the internet. It is being scanlated.
It spends the entire first volume establishing a friendship between two characters one of whom had no friends before talking to the other, more popular girl. In the final chapter they both get drunk off of White Russians of all things and the popular girl falls asleep, and then, out of nowhere, shy girl kisses her.
Rape kisses her.
And then in the first chapter of the next volume she feels guilty and tells the other girl this, and the other girl brushes it off saying that she kisses her friends all the time when she's drunk (oh gee, do you think she might be a bit left handed as well?). And then in the next few chapters the shy girl tries to convince herself that she's not a lesbian, without ever actually mentioning the word. Oh you crazy, sexually repressed country.
Later it's revealed that popular girl has had sex with a boy before. Is this the end of shy girl's chances for happiness?
Riveting stuff. Lots of questioning sexual identity.

Is the REC anime worth watching? I read what was translated of the manga a few months ago and there has been no progress since. That was a good manga. Am I going to be disappointed by inaccuracy? Also I know that we are not supposed to talk about fansubs but is Darker then black translated?

I recently saw Ponyo and I have to say one thing about Miyazaki, his films have no target audience, everyone from young to old can enjoy his films. I do have to say though, it wasn't one of his best, but that isn't saying much seeing as everything he made is well great. I'd put it below Princess Mononoke but above Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.
Out of all the Miyazaki films Laputa is my favourite.
