It was only fitting that greed would ruin him.

It was, all the more reason I think it would've been the perfect ending to the series.

In subtitles they kept having like "a million yen" "20.1 million yen" etc.

Does anyone know how much a million yen converts to in Euros or in USD?

About 10k, with both. Bit more in dollars. Rule of the thumb, 100 yen is about one dollar/euro.

The giant scrotums in Pom Poko are not 'gratuitous'. Images of tanuki in Japanese art all depict them as such, so the image of a tanuki is tied to the image of giant testicles.

Panty shots, however, are not intrinsically tied to witches.

To anyone whose read and watched Death Note.. does the series follow the manga faithfully? I remember readin' it to a certain point and stopping when those 'suits' came into the picture. My brothers have the series but dunno if I should give it a watch while I'm on break or not.. suggestions?

It's a faithful adaptation, but it's also a bucket of mediocrity, so don't bother.

So, watched my Black Lagoon DVD today, and it skipped a scene. Goes to show that you should never pay for anything.

I have. The files, except for a few subtitle problems (mostly because my coimputer is shit) work better than the DVD. As I said, moral of the story, don't pay for shit.

A horrendous trainwreck.

Awful mechs, awful characters, convoluted mess of a plot.

Man, I still got a lot of anime to trudge through.

Phoenix, Sailor Moon, Samurai 7, and still working on GTO with Dad.

Buying DVDs online is terrible, a disaster waiting to happen.
