Well, I just found out my dad is bringing me to Japan next summer when he goes to a business trip. SHold be fun, but I will probably get stuck in the middle of the biggest city there with MY japanese skills. I only know like 10 words in japanese, lol, but I'm planning on learning it. That language has always seemed interested to me. anyways, whoever told me to watch Samurai Champloo, I love you. jk, but that show is great so far.

You clearly payed no attention to his post whatsoever.

Plus, while I've got nothing against the free distribution of fan-translations of unlicensed works, pirating something like Death Note is just plain ludicrous.

Response to Anime Club 2008-07-10 21:20:05

Ehh i bought the deathnote series and regretted it. It was good at the beginning but after err.... a certain point i started to regret it. (still an incomplete set would have bothered me)

also, if i'm to rejoin this club are there any rules regaurding that that i should adhere to ?

Not really, we've done away with joining requirments because too many users just ignore them.

They were basically just an indicator of whether or not the members of the club should hate the applicant anyway.

Well alright then. Alive! is what i'm most addicted to now, and i'm hopeful for its adaptation into an anime. I've got high standards for this series, has anyone else been following it?

If your request made some goddamn sense, we may have been able to assist you.

Akagi's been going great so far, nearing the end of the Urabe arc (episode 14) and despite being a bit too wordy (the narrating is even more "state the fucking obvious, why dontcha?" than Kaiji's), the show remains fascinating.

Gotta get myself some tiles and start playing Mahjong.

And I need to stop listening to the second ending theme so much...

i like how that actually got respounce as opposed to the other one i had posted and then had to edit for confusion i will alpogized and any rudeness given off this isnt sarcasm either i promise,

i use to be bigger in to anime but then kinda fell out of that game and as of late i'v been getting slowly back in but im looking for soemthing more adult and by that i dont mean henti i just want something more thought provoking and maybe a little gore filled with out being exsive ya know what i mean.
but yeah i'm just looking for something new thats not Evongelion, death note, or one of the other big ones something thats better fan subed.

1. Neon Genisis
2.Lain
3. Samiri X (ova)
4.besrek
5. Battle angel

thems the top 5

sorry again :P

So... You're looking for something unlicensed, and mature?

I'm watching Kure-Nai at the moment, and that's got some adult to it.

Of course it's still got the comic relief with Murasaki doing her crazy little antics.

Licenced anime? In Finland, may I lol?

well, i have downloaded Champloo, which I technically could have bought, if I could somehow find the first season DVD's which are no longer available in stores.

I don't take revenue from my profile.

Have you finished it yet may i ask?

Er... No, I've been really busy, which kinda defeats the purpose of a summer holiday...

I'll try to watch the rest of it this weekend.

Well, I don't know, Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi would fit the description pretty ok, as for more mundane series, Welcome to the NHK, Genshiken and Lucky Star come to mind.

It requiers you to have an imagination and is set in the future, but I suggest Code Geass.

hey guys, I just finished Samurai Champloo. story was great, but I would have thought that Mugen would have died by the explosion at the end, but whatever...

I just started watchinga show called Black Lagoon. have any of you guys heard of it?

Also, what shows do you guys recommend that have the same animation styles as Samurai champloo?

I forgot to ask about shows that are similar to Champloo... so...

Are there any shows similar to SC?

Well I wouldn't really say that they're similar in lines of music, but if you're into the whole samurai thing I would say to check out Samurai 7. I haven't finished it yet, but from what i've seen so far it's pretty good.

Akagi and Kaiji fit the ticket quite nicely, they require some mild suspension of disbelief, but they've got even realism and twists to tide you over.

Jesus christ, I keep hearing about this anime in both real life and online constantly.

I have yet to see it but from what I understand its completely overrated, it can't be THAT good because whats mainstream in anime is almost always retarded shonens.(I.E. Naruto, DBZ, Inuyasha, Bleach, etc.)

And another thing, i've heard people compare it to death note, i've ehard people compare it to Gundum 00, i've had people compare it to fma and i've had people compare it NGE.

Just what the fuck is this anime about?

At 7/11/08 11:03 PM, Mendou wrote: Doesn't try to be smart or DEEP. Just does what it's supposed to do. Entertain.

Since when are smart animes bad?

As good of a anime that black lagoon is, it could've been so much better if it had an on some sort of linking plotline between all the arks and if their was some sort of intelligent story behind the awesome gun fights and big explosions..
