Is your guess Joan of arc? Not really a bad guess, because in anime europeans are always depicted as having blond hair and blue eyes...

That reminds me, why do characters freak out upon seeing blond hair and blue eyes when purple hair and pink eyes are perfectly acceptable?

Because they represent foreigners I think. Apparantly in some animes when you see someone from another country you MUST lose your shit.

I don't think you need the blonde hair and blue eyes to know that the girl's supposed to be European.

Besides, the Irish guy has blue hair.

And now all of you shut the fuck up. Do I have to remind you every couple of days not to act like an idiot here? It's pretty much all the old rule list has degraded to, and it's not hard to follow. Unless, of course, you are an idiot. But in that eventuality I have no sympathy for you.

In order for you to be joking, someone other than you would have needed to find it funny.

The God-king truths here.

Started season four, already hating (Principal Kuno wasn't this annoying in the manga, and early Cox is a pathetic Sarah Strange imitation). However, there was a great rape joke in one episode, so yeah, party time.

Frontier was pretty good, the animation was kept at a steady pace and the plot and overall mood for me is alright for me to continue watching.

Badass mechs.

That's no fun, what if his first post was of liking Urusei Yatsura? Would you even hesitate to let him join? And getting people to dislike me greatly is a habit of mine....:D

Damn well better, no more dicking around.

Hey, don't blame it on ALL on me. Anyways, the engrish in Black Lagoon is hilarious, and there seems to be quite a lot of it. The series is really growing on me though. I love Revy, her character makes you like her, hate her, and pity her all at once.

I don't really pity her. It was her choice to live that kind of life. She does grow on you though. God how i loves me sum REBECCA

Was it really? I thought that the flashbacks implied she was forced to live that way to survive, in the harsh streets of new york. Another thing Black Lagoon does right is not make Rock a pussy and having him stand up to her at times.

Revy's character's rather stock.

I never pity her.

THought I'd drop by.

Despite claims to the contrary, I have to admit that I'm a bit of an anime fanboy. I'm highly critical towards the Japanese society, as it seems to be a really narrow and supressive one at times, and stuff like that, but still, I love anime :P

I watch a lot of stuff, from straight Shonen to Seinen, and since I don't really pay attention to the labels, probably some Shoujo as well.

Series that I have watched through include Death Note, Excel Saga, Lucky Star, Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi, Welcome to the NHK and Black Lagoon, and series I've followed a bit include Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bepop, Fullmetal Alchemist, Magic Knight Rayearth (...), Sailor Moon (...) and Dragonball Z (... I was young, and they were the only ones shown on TV, show mercy!)

I'm currently looking into Genshiken and Outlaw Star, and interested in loonig into Gravitation, Azumanga Daioh and really, anything that's funny, well animated or has a good story.

I hope I can find time to post here often.

I could awnser this too.

Top 5 favorite animes and why you like them.

5. Black Lagoon
4. Excel Saga
3. One Piece
2. Lucky Star
1. Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi

I discovered most of the through TV Tropes Wiki they sounded fun so I checked them out. A friend of mine got me into One Piece.

What got you into it.

Into anime in general, well, there were a few shows on the TV when I was 13-15, and the thing was just becomming a trend over here, so I checked it out. I saw Vegetas infamous statement on Goku's Power Level and the even more infamous Namek Arc (THIS PLANET WILL BLOW UP IN FIVE MINUTES, TUNE IN NEXT TIME FOR MORE OF THE SAME). My current habits were born from seing the Cowboy Bepop movie, and general encouragment on the internet.

What animes do you dislike.

Dragonball Z epitomises what's wrong with Shonen anime. Naruto is fine in small viewings, but in a large scale causes epic levels of frustration, and then are the stuff that I just can't stand because of the Cultural Vaues Dissonance (attitudes towards women, towards bullying, towards social outcasts)

The jury is still out on Mecha anime, since I haven't really seen any.

Hey, DBZ was awesome when I watched it.

Back when I was nine or something.

Not quite as awesome as Pokemon, though.

I still have a bit of a soft spot for it.

Some parts are downright terrible, and 90% of the show is stupid, but there's no denying that any series featuring a buff white dude with an afro called "Mr. Satan" is at least somewhat awesome.

I've been wanting to see Last Exile, but I still haven't. I've been busy with other anime. I'm almost done with Ninja Nonsense and I'm halfway through Petshop of Horrors.

Last Exile is one of the best anime series I've seen.

It's too bad about the poor ending, though.

Also, any oppinnions on Patlabor? I hear it's a good Hard Sci-Fi Mecha Show, that aactually pull giant robots off pretty realisticaly. Is it any good?

Also, yay, a new club to be a member of.

Also Pokeymans, god... yeah, I watched that too. Early parts of the first season were ok, but then it just got ridiculous.
