So I decided to take a go at getting of of them there Visual Novels I've heard about.

I acquired Tsukihime, due to my inherent love of vampires, and finished two of the five heroine's stories (Arcueid (what a name!), and Akiha).

It was basically just stupid fun, with some pretty silly and unbelievable plot points. However, I was not playing for realism, and thus I did not much care about the lack of it.

The graphics were a bit lacking, and since it only used about 5 different poses for each heroine which got cycled around, that was pretty noticeable. But who cares?

I felt that the hentai parts of the game really added nothing to the overall plots.

Also, I might check out the anime if I care to (god, you can say that about pretty much anything from any entertainment media that comes out of Japan).

Let's just say that all of the episodes of Champloo were great episodes.

Especially the last 2 episodes. Tight as it can be indeed.

I really thought that the first episode was the best one.

It just didn't manage to live up to the expectations that that episode gave me.

Just a general "it wasn't great".

There's no particular part of it which is weighing it down.

Just that it didn't get that high in the first place.

I currently can't decide whether I should play Fate/Stay Night, or forgo that and watch the anime.

I have a grudge against Samurai Champloo because it inspired The Boondocks guy, and that show is ten thousand kinds of awful.

I've only seen one episode of it, and a couple of clips otherwise, and I have to say that I did enjoy that much.

What is it that makes it 'ten thousand kinds of awful'?

Get the fuck out, now.

Boondocks is one of the few North American animated series that combines both good writing and good animation.

Listen to Gendo and Kuro. Boondocks is awesome. I love the Xbox killer episode where Samuel L. Jackson's character was spewing lines from Pulp Fiction. I thought Stinkmeaner's Revenge was really awesome also. "

Doctor: "Sir, I'm sorry, but you're blind for life."
Stinkmeaner: "At least I don't have to look at your ugly ass anymore."

Time to track down the manga.

That's the sad part of really good animes, most of them have shit endings that either quickly resolve the plot or leave it "open" to our imagination.(In this case open means too goddamn lazy to tie up any major plot points) There is an exception to the plot rule however. Most short animes tend to have great endings, barring some exceptions.

Anyways, today was amazing. I was in NYC visiting my grandmother, and when I go to get food who do I see munching on tuna roll? SEAN FUCKING CONNERY. This man is one of my ideals, I love the bond films so much. Anyways, a woman passing by him did a double take and said "I love you" after he held the door open for her. Oh, and I also managed to buy a Banana striped headband from a cloth vendor outside the food place. All in all, a pretty awesome day.

Fate/Stay Night is good, but...

I really can't stand the main character's constant sexism.

Finished season three of Ranma and the first disc of Fist of the North Star.

This season started out pretty good, but drifts in and out of being very funny and painful to watch (had to skip two episodes due to the sheer lack of humour whatsoever) and it's hardly got me eager to dive into season four.

As for Fist, I have to go back to watching it subbed. The dub and the additional music drove me fucking insane. It's sad that it will probably never get a proper Region 1 release.

Well, season three and four is when they start differing from the plot a bit and also is filler heavy. I really hate the lack of Gosunkugi, they put in a gay ninja instead. Still, there are some good story arcs in season three and four, you just gotta know where to find them.

You never know, if people show enough interest in the subbed version they might make a Region 1 release.

Yeah, and when they bring him out in season six, all of his good stories have already been done with Sasuke/ignored.

Doubtful, Fist is just too old and strange for the Region 1 market.

A gorefest with super-censored violence in the first few seasons = hard sell.

Come on, WHITE BLOOD?!

Yeah, well retro does suprisingly well, for example Ranma is still like Viz's number two selling manga and it's been a good ten years since it ended. But yeah, I see your point.

Not in North America, publication only wrapped up in like 2006 or abouts (possibly even later).

That's why it still sells so well.

Well, you got a point there, but the fact that people still like something originally made in the 80's is still there. Anyways, I am so lucky that I have Starz edge, they show Black Lagoon episodes. I do plan on importing the second season though.

Anime Punch: Armageddicon III is over, and the details of my time there are posted on my userpage. If I had to summarize it using college sports, I'd say this year it was the Ohio State men's basketball team of conventions; not good enough to be a top-tier franchise, but good enough to beat the other losers and small-time clubs.

After four and a half episodes, my verdict for the Fate/Stay Night anime is that it = Ungood.

The battles manage to be less engaging than the still images accompanied by text and sound effects that the game has (granted the images are all moving around, and they also have pictures indicating effects like sword swipes and the like) that occur in the game, and the glossed over dialogue is quite irritating.

The voice acting's pretty generic in both versions.

By the way, I'm still confused as to why no character can figure out which sword wielding, armour wearing, teenaged, female knight based past hero this is supposed to be.

If it turns out I'm wrong, I'll sure feel silly.
