It's just as good.

That shit can be used as a brainwashing video. The part where there were multiple Ronalds repeating it over and over again...so hypnotic.

Well my top 5 when I signed up were (then in no order).

Lucky Star
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Last Exile
And Cowboy Bebop.
So I suppose things like that.
Though I do like other genres than just the ones that those fit in to.

If you don't mind a bit of over-the-top ridiculousness, Black Lagoon makes for a nice compliment to CB.
Similar structure, but less episodic and a Hell of a lot more violent and humourous.
Further still, if you've not seen the original Lupin III series (the inspiration for Bebop), you owe it to yourself to watch it.
Has anyone seen the original Fist of the North Star or the new one, or even both? If so could you tell me if its worth looking into, because I just started reading it a few days ago, its pretty freaking awesome with its violence.

I saw the original a few years ago. It was pretty good. Good action, good voice work (english dubbed).

Oh man, FotNS is awesome.
The original TV series is a masterpiece, one of my favourite anime series of all time.
Hokuto no Ken 2 is sorta blah, but worth a look if you really enjoyed the first one.
The 1986 movie misinterprets the story, but is a joy to watch.
New Fist of the North Star is pretty awful, so avoid it if you can.
The recent movie/OVA series once again misinterprets the story (and also has some weak voice acting), but is one of the best looking things out of Japan these days.

Never watched it before.
And Cowboy Bebop.
People are listed animes like that.
Anywho there is a "Design your own anime or manga plot contest" in my town and i'm entering.
I'm planning a plot in sort of a magical like world with a dark plot and i'm trying to think of the abilities the bad guys should have.
I already have these ideas;
two bad guys that share the same mind, a bad guy with Voodo dolls, a guy that has over 300 IQ, someone who has an ability similar to Greed's from FMA and someone who can manipulate the current of time.
I wanna make another bad guy or two, any ideas?

You're already watching them.
He directed the show from its start in August of '81 to sometime in '84.
Wow looks like im gonna have to look up the episodes for it now, know of any other equally awesome violent ones with good voice acting that isnt mainstream?

I'm sorry, but were you on crack when you watched it? Lex Lang as Ken? Steven Blum as Shin? God no. In fact, I say it has one of the most butchered, and intolerable English dubs. Despite being one of the most GAR animes of all time, with a nigh-unbeatable main character. Everyone should watch it, if you're afraid to watch it's epic, then you are a pansy. Also,in the English version of FoTNS, they get rid of the original opening (Ai o tori modose), and replace it with sappy DnB/Jungle sounds. FoTNS without "YOU WA SHOCK" is not FoTNS

I have the feature length anime and the first 14 episodes of the series on DVD. It's badass, silly fun. very entertaining. I'd say it's definitely worth a watch. I also have New Fist of the North Star, which was fairly entertaining, but unworthy of succeeding Fist of the North Star. Really, I wouldn't bother with New Fist of the North Star if you're limited in how much anime you can get.
Just bought a suitably faggy Ranma 1/2 t-shirt, as well as an original animation cel from episode six of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (Jotaro with his arm against the side of a building).
Next purchases: Season six of Ranma 1/2 and Manga Entertainment's nigh-impossible to find FotNS boxset.

Whats on the T-shirt? And where did you get it from?

Image of shirt design and eBay are the answers.
Also just bought a cel of JJBA's Daniel J. D'Arby laughing like a madman (from episode three).

That's really neat! How many cels do you have? From what anime is each cel from? Also, how much did each cel cost? I'd assume that they can get pricey.

These are the only ones have so far.
I've had an interest in buying cels for a while, but I usually can't scrounge up the money for them.
Jotaro and D'Arby I found on major sale, only cost me $17.99 for the pair.

I dunno, maybe the fact that it was 2 AM screwed with my mind. I thought some of the voices were
ok, considering that I've never seen the original version.

The Fist of the South Star guy could kick his ass pretty good, if I remember.

I agree that everyone should watch it. It owns the shit out of a lot of anime.
I finally took Mendou and Gendo's advice, and I ordered Galaxy Express 999 from Amazon. At 17 USD and change, it was a pricey purchase. Still, I look forward to this and the other volumes of the series.

Gungrave-my first anime
Death Note-It has a cool story line
Trinity Blood-I love vampires
Naruto-Ninjas just rule
Trigun-My second anime
My brother got me into Gungrave and it went from there
None really because I only watch what sounds interesting or best freinds recomendations but if I have to choose one it would be alot of what is on the anime network because alot of it just plain sucks.

Why do all Naruto characters look Asian?
P.S: They aren't ninjas; in the traditional sense of the word.

Word, and even though this debate will go on forever, Pirates>Ninjas. Hands down. But back to the point, NINJA'S AREN'T SUPPOSED TO HAVE BULLSHIT POWERS! Yuffie, and Shadow are real ninjas, not faggot kids with energy attacks and gay as fuck headbands.

Hey, remember that time when Yuffie managed to make a stream of blue light appear beneath her opponents, which rose up in a sort of beam, and damaged all the enemies?
Or when she fired out some multicoloured beams from her hands and did the same thing?

Materia and Limit Breaks don't count as faggotshit energy attacks. Plus, it's not Naruto. Which makes it okay.

And there's the part where Yuffie is a genuinely funny, and well designed character.
