Every volume of the Black Lagoon and Black Jack mangas are available in French, as well as most of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

The pain is that French manga is scarce online and Amazon France is even more of a ripoff shithole than Amazon Canada.

I recently went to Barnes and Noble, and purchased my 2nd volume of Youtsuba&! (I started at 4, and I purchased 3 just now), and I got the one-shot Bobobobobobobo (Shame that VIZ decided not to translate the entire series, but oh well). I saw a few titles that interested me, and after researching them a bit on Wikipedia, I'd like to ask if they're worth pursuing, or if I should view the anime version of said manga series (if any).

Hot Gimmick - "Hatsumi, a 16-year old girl, lives in a company housing unit run by Mrs. Tachibana, the wife of the company's vice president. How a family behaves in the housing complex can affect an employee's status in the company. When her sister Akane thinks she might be pregnant, Hatsumi buys her a pregnancy test. Hatsumi is blackmailed by Ryoki, the son of the Tachibana family, into being his slave". It claims to be pretty mature for a shojo series.

Dragon Drive - After researching it, I don't have high hopes for it. It looks like Yu-Gi-Oh with virtual reality monsters instead of cards.

Beauty Pop - "The manga is about the life of a naturally talented hairstylist named Kiri Koshiba and her problems with the Scissors Project (S.P.), a group of boys determined to become the best makeover team in Japan". A shojo about hairstyling? Looks promising.

Reborn! - I still don't get the plot after scanning through the Wikipedia article. Something about a guy in Japan who is some sort of mob king, but he doesn't know it, so a one year old infant who is an expert hitman trains him to be the best mob boss ever.

Also, while researching, I stumbled upon a series called "Samurai Pizza Cats". I'm totally going to search for a means to watch this, since it looks like a fuckwin.

I remember watching that series when I was young.

The translation was ridiculously different to the original, but the original probably wouldn't have made sense in English, due to its cultural references and the like.

Either way, it was awesome when I used to watch it.

Wow I admit I liked the first seasons of yu-gi-oh when I was younger but they often bend the rules of the game and they have a very cheesey plot, etc. Those kinds of animes are very overrated in my opinion, like pokemon, I just can't wait until those kinds of animes popularity dies down!

I actually own that series on DVD, I bought the entire show on DVD at a book sale at school along with a mini tracking device and the book "The bourne Identity" which I am in love with. Anyway I don't remeber it that well after the first episode, which was so-so, but I can't remeber after that. Either I never got around to watching behond the first episode or I really have forgotten about it.

I say give it a shot.

Actually I own this series too, It was quite good. Not generic like naruto, inyuyasha or DBZ or bleach(The way you see it anyway.) I am actually not surprised in any way about wikipedia though, as far as the range of hundreds of animes and mangas out there go, this is quite easily one of the biggest nobody ones there is. Shame.

Anime = Japaneese cartoons, usually based after the manga(Like X-man the comic and X-man the show.) but not always.

Have any of you watched the nine episode long animatrix? Its a mini anime that is like 10 - 20 minutes long each explainning everything during and before the time frame of the matrix movies in anime form. Pretty good in my opinion, my favorites were the second reniassance part one and second reniassance Part two, easily.

I haven't posted in a while so I thought I would drop by. I had a ban for two days because I posted in a spam thread then after that I just haven't been online much and when I was it was email, not newgrounds.

In other news I have been watching black lagoon a little, I THINK I am on either episode 14 or episode 17. Its pretty good so far, around a 8 or 9 out of 10.. I really like it but i'm wicked surprised I haven't gotten hocked yet!

I'll pursue Beauty Pop, Hot Gimmick, and perhaps Reborn! if I have enough spare cash to purchase the 1st volume.

Also, Gurren Lagann OST makes my ears happy.

DBZ didn't have an insane amount of characters.

It added a couple of characters ever saga, and those lasted dozens of episodes.

Black Lagoon however, has to add new bad guys every 3 or so episodes.
