Kinda pissed, had to fix my computer and now I don't know how to get sound on it so I haven't been watching much anime. Last anime I watched was Airgear, which was decent, but it felt too rushed at certain parts. Also, huge cliffhanger at the end. Can someone PM me where I can find the manga after the anime ends? I was told the anime ended at chapter 100~ of the manga, and the manga is ongoing right now at chapter 170~.

It's 5 again, the air is thin.

Seeing as Gurren Lagann just finished I was wandering if anyone could reccomend me any other series to get into. Preferably something which has just started.

Thanks.

A store.

If you're looking for scanlations, I'd advise you to look elsewhere.

Requesting material of questionable legality is not to be done here, especially since the Air Gear manga is licensed and far from hard to obtain.

Yeah, I think we banned porn at some point.

Probably ages ago.

Anyway:

1. What are your 5 favourite animes, and write a sentence or two about them.
2. What kind of anime do you like and dislike?
3. What got you into anime?

Also, please try to improve your grammar.

Hi guys. I just recently bought Volume 2 of the Read or Dream manga at Indigo Books & Music earlier today. I'm planning on reading it tomorrow.

I just finished my favourite Anime series; NANA. 47 episodes, plus 3 re-cap episodes. Would you believe that this is only the first season, and with hopes for a second by 2008? I was overjoyed with the way this season ended, and, want to cry because it was really sad. This is what I get for being devoted to a shojo/josei anime franchise. I demand everyone in this club start watching it. I want this series to be dubbed so badly. I wouldn't care how bad the voices are, I just want to see it on standard television. . . and to brag to people about how cute, dramatic, tense, somewhat funny, and beautiful it can be. Watching Nana has been a wonderful experience. I hope to do it again soon. I am currently blushing from the after effects of watching NANA that I wanna cry. Anyways, watch it, it'll make even the most spineless individuals grow a heart.

Sup all...

Just finished Gurren Lagann last week and I'm trying to catch up on Lucky Star.

What new anime are you all looking forward to for Fall 2007?

Personally, I'm psyched about Nougami Neuro. I hear it's going to fill the void that Code Geass and Gurren Lagann left behind.

Stop copying my taste in manga.

You're buying damn near everything I own....

Regardless, Read or Dream is fucking marvelous.

Finished me costume for Anoween '07, after weeks of not being able to decide, I chose Alucard.

I finally watched the first episode of Virus Buster Serge. So far, it's got a futuristic story with mechs and stuff, and focuses on some kind of SWAT team. I've only confirmed one piece of eye candy named Erika, but I have a feeling there will be more beautiful women in the series.

Watched three random episodes of the Fist of the North Star dub (it's pretty mediocre, especially since the Japanese version's awesome score is replaced with so-so drum n' bass), Hokuto no Ken: Raoh Gaiden (SHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!) and the German dub of Hellsing Ultimate III (Alucard's German voice really sucks, but Seras and Alhambra were good) yesterday.

Tonight I'm considering popping in an unwatched DVD or two of mine.

Yes, it was terrible.

As was Seed and Seed Destiny.

In fact, everything after Gundam Wing has sucked.

The "Ugh" in your post expressed extreme distaste for the franchise.

The word "hate" isn't the be-all, end-all of ways to describe disgust or disapproval.

Plus, regardless of what your thoughts on it are, the Gundam franchise is just plain better than the majority of stuff you like. It's an undisputed fact, ask any reputable scienceman.

No.

Why would I?

Also, "quite a few" is a grotesque exaggeration. Name five series you watch that I love other than Black Lagoon.

I really doubt there are many sciencemen out there that are experts on anime. There could be, but I doubt it.

Fma, Ccs, Love hina, DN angel, excel, air, chobits, black cat, rozen maiden, galaxy angel, etc.

I honestly can't say since I don't know what animes you've never heard of,what animes you've heard of but never gotta around to reading/watching, what animes you hate(Well I know a lot of these ones) and what animes you absoulately love.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA

I hated Love Hina (it's on my worst animes of all time list), I have zero interest in Chobits, Black Cat or Galaxy Angel and I did not enjoy Rozen Maiden in the least. FMA was good, but far from a favourite, same with DN Angel, Excel Saga and Cardcaptor Sakura.

I have not seen Air, either.

That's fucking bullshit and you know it.

If you had no idea about my tastes, then you would not have responded to my request. I asked for five series you watch that I love, if you had no clue what stuff I enjoy, then you'd have not replied.

Plus, I prefer real romance anime, not that harem bullshit.

While he thinks he's better because HE WATCHES ANIME FOR REAL 12 YEAR OLD BOYS!!

Fixed, no need to thank me.

I also agree with this statement, the Gundam animes are classics, you name them( 0079, Zeta, War in the pocket, The 8th MS Team, Stardust, Gundam wing, G Gundam or any other millionth spin off. Only bad ones iv seen are SD and clearly the Seed series.

Precisely, my good man.

Also, HAMAAAAAAAAN, MARVELOUS, etc.

Quoted for fucking truth.

Maison Ikkoku is likely Rumiko' strongest work. Short (compared to everything else she's done), consistent and it has a satisfying conclusion (a fairly obvious one, but satisfying nonetheless).

Funny and yet true considering shows like Bleach aim at that age range.

Non-Japanese fans continually forget that "shonen" is literally the demographic for young boys.

Only problem is that, there's just simply TOO much Gundam, and they tend to stick with the same formula(whiny teenage hero gets mobile suit, whiny hero is struggling to accept that HE'S POILOTING NO ZAKU BOY, NO ZAKU!, it works though.

OMG, IZ DAT SUM RAMBA RAL PARAPHRASING I SEE?

In all seriousness, Gundam does have an obvious formula, and a grating one at that.

Her pink hair and dictator like personality gives me a raging hard on.

You're not alone.

Something tells me you and Kouta Hirano would be good buddies.

Agh, I can't decide what to watch....I've finished Gurren Lagann, and after that, there's like a void...I like mech anime, and most things with an epic feel to them. Something that'll be pretty damn awe-inspiring down the road...kinda like how the mech of choice turned from a mechanical fat man, to<SPOILERZ ZOMG> an entire fucking universe at the end of the series. It is kinda absurd in a way, but they made it seem as if it's possible in their world, therefore instead of thinking "psh, that's so stupid" I was thinking "damn, they're gonna pwn them anti-spirals!".

Anyhow...I've seen just about all of the classics. I think I've seen all of the good mech anime out there, null a few, but I doubt it. Right now, I'd just like something that's probably a bit new, and just has an overall epic feel to it...action not required. Thrillers included. I'll take just about any suggestions. My lengthy typing is a result of my anime withdrawal syndrome....;D.

Also, every Fist of the North Star movie as well, especially the original and Raoh Gaiden.

I dislike harem manga/anime, except Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei, which I thought was okay and nothing more. All of my IRL friends that are into weaboo things love Ken Akamatsu and Love Hina/Negima. Ugh.

Admittedly, I haven't given the Gundam franchise much of a chance. I'm thinking of starting off with 00. Any other series that you'd like to recommend?

Yes, it is incredibly epic.

I had heard of it waaaaay back in the 90s, but did not give it a serious watch until the other day. It's one of the few pure action series I actually enjoy.

Despite being individuals with dubious taste, only one of my friends enjoys harem anime. The others are vocal with their hatred of the genre.
