The New Zealand accent evolved from the English accent, it's clearly the right one.

Calling the English accent the real accent is like calling monkeys the real humans.

Since it's the most recent accent it's the correct one? So I guess people who speak ghetto and say foshizzle nizzle have the correct accent according to your logic, right?

Well, aside from the pain of each landed blow (and the excruciation of putting on the suit), I think the Mobile Trace system doesn't inflict physical injury or cause fatal wounds. The only way a Gundam Fighter gets hurt is if his cockpit is attacked.

The MTS basically transmitted data to the pilot, how badly damaged each section or what area of the Gundam was. Kinda like a throbbing or prickly sensation. The stronger that sensation got meant the damage was more severe.

One of my favorite ways to pilot a mecha actually. More logical too seeing how you can understand how the MS can do so many odd positions and their moving separate parts VS sitting down and using throttles, controls and such.

Well, you do bring up a debeatable argument. Host Club did just get licenced, and shall now be direct compition to The Haruhi Suzumiya franchise because both series have main characters who are named Haruhi. But they're both on different ends of the scale. Haruhi Fujioka is smart, educated, clumsy, with a quiet tone in her voice, and was manipulated by Tamaki into becoming a host club member to repay her debt. Haruhi Suzumiya can come across as rather foolish, childish, schemish, and manipulative. Their roles are different; Haruhi F. is a charming Host Club member who reels in cute girls for profit. And Haruhi Suzumiya is GOD! Obviously looks are different. Haruhi F. is a tomboy, and Haruhi S. is attractive, and has big breasts.

Now in terms of comedy, both characters supply a good amount; Haruhi F. is on par with Haruhi S. on this notion. However, with everything else I said, Haruhi Suzumiya is better than Haruhi Fujioka on those levels.

You clealy have no idea what "/end argument" means, do you?

Then again, Kisuke doesn't seem to realise what an argument is in the first place, considering all he said was a statement, without disagreeing with anything, or anyone disagreeing with him, and he still tried to end it.

The idea of a character being God is more appealing to me than a character being a cross dresser, but I still feel that having an anime in which the main character was God could be handled in a much cooler way.

Like... The main character is all depressed and melancholic about having to deal with being God.

It probably wouldn't work very well, but it would sound more interesting in concept.

I don't.

Nobody would make it.

For one, it would probably be seen as a ripoff of Haruhi, and for another there is almost no way in hell that it would work.

Something like that yes, as long as he doesn't wine too much.

Haruhi whines a hell of a lot, doesn't stop that being popular.

It will turn into a shonen jump series.

I doubt it.

It'd probably be more mature, than that.

If it was a shonen series, it would undoubtedly suck.

I SAID END ARGUMENT AS IN 'NO!'

Host Club did just get licenced, and shall now be direct compition to The Haruhi Suzumiya franchise because both series have main characters who are named Haruhi.

S is more of a general audience while F is more shojo than wide spectrum. Regardless, it's awesome.

But they're both on different ends of the scale. Haruhi Fujioka is smart, educated, clumsy, with a quiet tone in her voice, and was manipulated by Tamaki into becoming a host club member to repay her debt.

I can't really agree with the manipulation thing. She had two options there, be it pay them back the money for the vase she broke or become a host club member. While I don't agree I do as well so the manipulation thing is half and half.

S does have brains though, I'll give her that. Seeing how she does come up with good schemes and debates. Not to mention getting a computer from the computer club. With the looks though you forget one key factor.

Fujioka is delicious flat chest.

Now in terms of comedy, both characters supply a good amount; Haruhi F. is on par with Haruhi S. on this notion. However, with everything else I said, Haruhi Suzumiya is better than Haruhi Fujioka on those levels.

Thus, to each his/her own. I enjoyed both series but Ouran outclasses Melancholy by a landslide in my books.

I've recently discovered a few new series on Anime Network On Demand (I don't have the 24-hour service because only WOW carries it in the Columbus area):

Air TV, which seems to be an anime based on a popular "Visual Novel", is a pretty good series. I've only seen the first episode, but I love it already.
I'm also enjoying Maburaho, but that's probably because I have a thing for harem series.
Elfen Lied seems to be exactly as you guys warned - I only watched the first half of episode 1 before the gratuitous violence turned me off. I mean, there's only so many times you can view guys being dismembered by an invisible force before it becomes passé.

I was hardly being serious in the first place.

Besides, sarcasm is quite a bit different on the internet.

You don't get the subtle changes in voice (or unsubtle depending on the wit of the individual) in sarcastic comments, and instead you need to rely on your comments being outlandish enough for people not to believe you for sarcasm to work (unless you're one of those people who has to clarify their sarcasm with tags (those people annoy me)).

It's not enough to just say something like "Oh yeah, I like pepsi" and expect people to get what you're trying to say (in this case the thing that is trying to be said is that the speaker does not like pepsi), because it just looks like the person is telling the truth (though it's really more of a lie than sarcasm in this hypothetical situation.

And anyway, what WAS sarcastic about your post?

It wasn't that you thought the Haruhi from that show is better than the Haruhi from the Haruhi Suzumiya series, since you clarified your reasons for believing that later.

Was the sarcastic point that you wrote "/end argument" when you in fact wanted to start an argument, or what?

Or were you just making some bizarre "joke" about how there was no argument, yet you were posting a response as if the person you were quoting was proclaiming the point opposite to yours (that is, that Haruhi S is greater than Haruhi F).

Because I'm somewhat confused as to wherein the sarcasm lies, and if it was in fact humourous (or degrading towards some other person) enough to be necessary.

Even so, I always tell people to watch the first 3 episodes of an anime before they judge it, that's how I got a lot of people into Haruhi. Would make me kind of a hypocrite to not give it a little try.

There's a funny thing about Elfen Lied. I hear people who defend it talking about deep philosophy which is the last thing I got from it. I was crazy enough to watch enough episodes to gather a conclusion from it. The intro was the best part, but I think the flash Billium is much better. This is what I got from it.

SPOILERS

Girl is different because she has some kind of virus. Everybody picks on girl. Girl starts killing because dog got kill. Innocent families die because of girl's sadness. Boy meets girl. Boy has fun with girl. Boy has to leave to meet cousin (who is a girl). Girl kills boy's sister because girl is jealous of boy's COUSIN. Years later girl is in government facility. Government does stupid experiments. Girl kills people and escapes, but girl gets split personality from a sniper hitting girl's helmet. Boy meets girl's new personality. Girl's new personality is naked. Cousin is with boy and gets jealous despite possibility of producing kid with down syndrome. Two other girls come into mix. A girl who was sexually raped by father and girl who is infected but loses her limbs before meeting boy. RESULT: One of the most disgusting harem animes ever to come into existence and no philosophy in sight.

I never really understood the popularity of Lilium.

It always seemed to just be pretentious crap, with some vaguely "pretty" drawings.

The flash just makes me think how the majority of Newgrounds doesn't actually understand a thing about art, and that silly little Goth images (with a ridiculous story and unnecessary violence) don't function as it.
