Ok, random post;

My favourite Anime film is the almighty classic Akira. Close second is probably Princess Mononoke followed by maybe Chihiros journey (i think thats what it´s called). Though i´ve sort of gone of Anime lately as i dont have much time to watch it. ;_;

I really don't think that counts as fan-service.

It's like saying the *spoilers* rape scene in Perfect Blue was fan service.

Or the nude photo shoot.

It was a joke /cough.

Also, on the topic of new anime, I think I'm looking forward to Rebuild of Evangelion which is supposedly being released on September first....so quite a while until any fan subs come out.

Hmm...also, to all of you people that spend large amounts of time doing absolutely nothing but watching Anime for a long period of time, then going back to school/work.....how badly would you freak out if a random hot chick dressed in a schoolgirl outfit popped up from nowhere and hugged you? It kinda happened (I'm beginning my Junior year in High School). And I'm all like "uhhh....ummm...errr...umm.....rape is a crime?" because, y'know I'm kinda stunned. Then she starts hugging from the back, choking me. I just thought that was worthy of sharing/asking :P.

Well of course, everyone loves Akira, Mononoke as well. I suspect the reason you haven't watched a lot of anime as of late is because of work and FF tactics amirite?

Spot on Mr.Mendou.

Akira is really my favourite film ever. It´s story is just so well thought out and intense. I wanted to buy the 4 manga books when i was about 16. I saw them all in a shop, but they were 20Pounds each, which makes all 4 of them 80pounds (130$ roughly).....so i didn´t get em´ in the end. Man i really want them now, cos the film is only a SMALL bit of the Mangas. It´s really alot longer, before and after when you see in the movie.

Mononoke is amazing too....animation is prefect. Ghibli studios are one of the best around....alot more realistic then most Animes. I´ve kinda gone of the massive eyes and far beyond crazy hair-do´s now.

I hardly have time to watch anime anymore.
I have a pretty busy schedule. I stick to downloading on weekdays and watching on Weekends.

On side note:
I just DLed Nise Midi Doronokai's new Lucky Star Doujinishi.

Lucky Star would likely be a major pain in the ass to localize and dub, not to mention it's so lacking in humor that it would make Squidbillies look hilarious.

Adult Swim, in my opinion, should stop airing anime since around 90% of their line-up is horrid.

that's the number 1 reason i don't watch Adult Swim anymore. their other shows went from bad to utterly retarded. they can't group that crap with anime. at least not with the anime they air.

Know this is pretty random, but anyone know any anime that are not hentai, but adult anime.

Stuff like Elfen Lied, just as an example. Complex, dark stuff.

That's not my complaint.

I hate their anime line-up, not their original shows.

A good deal of the original stuff is shit, too, but the anime they air is unbearable.

There is nothing complex about Elfen Lied, nor is there anything "adult" about it other than its gratuitous shock content.

Paranoia Agent would be my suggestion, excellent series.

FMA does not count since it's being re-run to death.

Once a series is done airing, they should move on. That's how G4 Canada does it.

i thought they do move on and then come back to it again after awhile. I don't see running a set of animes in a cycle as CN seems to do a bad thing.
for one it lets people who had never seen that anime see it. i had never seen S-cry-ed, Paranoia Agent, or Big-O before CN re-aired them. not that s-cry-ed is anything special.

and it allows someone eventually catch a missed episode. it beats the hush-hush method of catching a missed episode by some people's standards.

playing inuyasha every single day: not good. playing a season or two of an anime then take it off for about a year: ok. never airing an anime again after a single run: but, but...aww man.

So what? It's not like they are broadcasting anything startlingly new or life-changing. Most of what they air only warrants a single viewing (if even that).

and it allows someone eventually catch a missed episode. it beats the hush-hush method of catching a missed episode by some people's standards.

Pffft, irrelevant, that's not enough of a justification for endless re-runs. People could easily purchase/rent the DVDs.

Never airing it again is actually a smart move, because then it gives the network the chance to air a lot more anime. Not everyone wants to see a lengthy show run throught twice only to pop up again not long afterward.

Nah, AS has some decent anime on there. I remember when they used to have Lupin the third on there, they still have FMA, and they had eureka seven (even though the dub for E7 was horrible)

If AS stopped rerunning inuyasha and just put in a decent anime in place of it for a couple weeks, then sub it out again, they would be in good shape.

I meant substitute it out, not put subs on the bottom. Run the anime for a couple weeks then put another anime in it's place. Maybe AS can get rights to play afro samurai or something like that.

Sub it out means to substitute something with another program, not to air a series subtitled.

It's possible, I guess, since Azumanga Daioh was popular.

But then again, it has a hell of a lot of references to Japanese culture, which loses some likelyhood of it being dubbed, since it wouldn't make the transition easily.

Besides, Lucky Star is another one of the anime's which are far too Japanese to be dubbed.

MY ANIME WATCHING HABITS LATELY:

I began watching Matantei Loki Ragnarok. Very cool fantasy, detective, mystery, and mythological series. With comedy, and fucking Viking gods. As you all know, anything involving vikings is automatically cool. Watch it, it's pretty damn good.

I'm also trying to watch some extremely shitty series. Elfen Lied, which I only got up to episode 1, voilated a bit, but luckily, I couldn't watch it for the simple fact, that I couldn't find the second episode. SO I DODGED THAT BULLET.

I also am trying to watch the unbearable Final Fantasy Unlimited. However, I couldn't find the first episode no matter what I do. GO ME.

So, instead I watched most of the second season of Ranma, and an episode of Nana. And all was well.

I got that out on DVD once.

I got about 3 quarters through the first episode, then got angry at myself for not using my 2 dollars to get a coke.

This is kind of a different situation, but bobobo had INTENSE references to Japanese culture before it turned into an English dub. Someone told me that they had to rewrite a quarter of each episode.

Besides, Lucky Star is another one of the anime's which are far too Japanese to be dubbed.

Kind of, but I would give anything to see how they would dub Gintama.
