Yeah. They loose their attitudes with those voices, like Rock Lee in the Naruto dub. I thought that at least Rukia's voice keeps her same general attitude.

I find it funny that in some shows (most), I prefer the Japanese voice because it has more personality, but others I prefer the English voice because it has more personality. Best example of a preferred English voice would be Excel Excel. She sounds a lot crazier and when she rants you want to shove long needles into your ears (Ichi the Killer reference...and Tenjou Tenge, but who cares about that show).

It's not bad as in "sounds abyssmal" so much as "ill-fitting of the character".

Fujiko is a vain, double-crossing whore, and her voice is fitting.

Tack that voice on a character like Rukia, then you get instant failure.

You probably saw the FUNimation version, since the similarities are noticeable in the Geneon one and the FUNimation dub has been around longer.

Why the hell would they need an English voice actor for Chi? They couldn't just use the simple Japanese voice? Maybe they wanted some similarity between her voice and Freya, who actually talks.

"Say 'Nya' in a way that shows you are angry, but are relieved deep down" or "say 'Nya' in a way that shows you are stronger than someone, but respect their power". Like on Living Single when the lady practiced by doing different emotions with "Egg Plant".
