AUGH!!!

Crossfire and Hirano's rants are awesome.

Just got back from the Island Anime meetup, shit was awesome. My Walter costume netted me praise (I also got a few laughs during the improv comedy bit, I ranted about how Walter gets no respect) and prompted a few people to make cracks about the whole "butler" thing. I was also pleasantly surprised to see plenty of great cosplay (HARUHI AND HOST CLUB COSPLAYERS FTW) and Frank Pratt (a local otaku starting a monthly anime club) recognized me from NG (which lead to a pretty frightening encounter over my views of Elfen Lied, which inevitably ended in him shaking my hand and thanking me for at least being honest about my views, then we became right chummy) and I became the first member (club roster, mostly filled with my friends, has hit 10 so far).

Better still, the club is gonna be doing some fandubbing, which has me quite excited. We're planning on doing Hellsing as our first series.

Photos/videos soon, oh, and there's gonna be some fangirl-pleasing yaoi fanservice/ludicrous silliness involving myself (I'm sure the entire island thinks I'm gay now).

Already planning my costume and activities for Anoween '07 (considering dressing as either Kenshiro or Zorin Blitz), plus a few of us are begging Jacqueline to have a meetup on New Year's.

He should start his own buisness.

But then again, that would clearly distract him from the clear sadomasochistic relationship he has with Integral.

Is not, when compared to Kochikame, a gag series which is JUMP's longest running series ever since the 1970s and has over 150 volumes to-date.

Exception if you include Steel Ball Run into Jojo's canon. The third saga was the most popular for a good reason anyway.

main one? Gundam SEED. too much love, not enough killing. mostly the cutesy animes with children's themes *cough* Naruto dubs*cough* subs are fine though.

Yeah, plus it'll be a cheap costume, since I'll only need a black wifebeater, white pants, suspenders and a dollar store scythe. The only snag is the amount of facepaint and washable markers it will take to do the tattoos.

Sounds like you had a nice time, that Frank guy seems like a pedophile, who likes to touch little children in there special spots.

I just spent like the past two hours on the phone with him, he's not a bad guy, plus he's very charitable (since he's offered to buy me seasons one and two of Maison Ikkoku).

Yes, but have you considered that many of those stories can be done just as well (if not better) in the form of a drama (such as GTO)?

(Spoilers or not, the truth needs to be said)
Gundam SEED has enough deaths of both major and minor characters which rivals Tomino's hosted bloodbaths known as Z Gundam and V Gundam. How can it be 'not enough killing'?

A Gundam series which has way too much love and not enough 'deaths' to make it into the top five? After War Gundam X. It's not a bad series, but despite its technical but non-Katoki designs it lacks the flare and uniqueness* that earlier Gundam shows such as "G Gundam" or "Gundam W: Endless Waltz" have.

Naruto dubs*cough* subs are fine though.

Just stay away from posting trouble here unless you're all for defending yourself against overwhelming odds (Unless you're GunBuster, Zeorymer, Ideon, Jesus Yamato or the RaZenKan series of machines, then go for it).

Just buy the Taiwan imports. They're not that expensive either (around $340 HKD in total plus about $70or $90 HKD for shipping if you're exporting to USA).

ok. well, its got a great story (you sort of need to see Conquerers of Shambala to really figure out whats going on though).

Not if you follow the 'canon' storyline involving the 'conflict' in Xing and the 'world' blown out to a larger scale adventure.

it's got plenty of action and fighting.

That's a given, and pretty much crucial to most shows.

well to be fair, i only watched about 10 episodes of it >:D it didnt really catch my interest.

You should watch up to at least episode 35 if you're looking for plenty of horrible deaths and misery.

good animation quality though.

Well it is directed by Animation big-time Fukuda; the one who directed the Cyber Formula Series and GEAR Senshi Dendoh.

If only he did not have so much bias towards his wife's rushed work, SEED Destiny could have been awesome since it showed a lot of promise in the first half until Operation Angel Down.

...

To those forutnate, brave or insane enough or have 'means' to access the SEED Club website or the magazines, there is a somewhat new two-episode (approx. five minutes running time each) OVA series of Gundam SEED parodies that I recommend and declare it worth watching, for it involves SD Characters and misadventures.

Though 19/20 titles claims this to be a true case, I have not given up on Sunrise despite their decision to rush SEED Destiny, resulting in bad aftertaste.

Gundam 00 better have the 'epic' factor which Turn-A demonstrated despite designs by Syd Mead. A new Katoki-oriented OVA is fine too, of course.

Or better: INITIAL G; the all-customising, all-battling giant robot era which has "Geek-Talk" written all over it!

There is also Gurren Lagann, which despite its age, is exceedingly far superior to "Cult-Classic" (lol) Evangelion in every way except for realism, which it doesn't need anyway as Logic is nonexistant in that world.

And never diss the Katoki versions of the ten MS piloted by the main charcters, for they made more sense in realism than their Ogawara counterparts, such as HeavyArms having an ammunition barrel in his back for his vulcans.
