Only thing i don't like are some of the occasional requirements to win a fight(survive the fight until time runs out or use certain ninja tools 3 times or more) Some of them were a little difficult but most were not all to bad.

It doesn't seem too different from Jump Super/Ultimate Stars, though they are mostly bonuses.

Besides, Tomy is not eactly known for their expertise in standalone games without a second franchise to market it.

And these kind of things, along with the first Naruto game for the DS made by the same conpany, is what proves the fact that these games are meant for fans and fans only. Meaning they do not work the other way around.

Knowing Japan, I can only answer with both yes and no at the same time.

They probably did work hard on the game, but added troublesome rules to make it appear longer-lasting because the key audience is geared not to gamers, but to fans of Naruto.
