Of course not.

We still have to take into account the Reals and Hybrids.

But in advance; anything VS Ideon, Ideon either wins or the universe is reset.

Blockbuster had the first volume of Angel Links, but some cunt bought it before I could...

Only nine bucks, too.

from what i have seen of angel links it looks like it has too much fan service which i get tire of very fast.

Despite how loyal I was, the staff have always treated me like shit. I'll never forget the day I was almost thrown out for loitering even though I purchased damn near $50 worth of merchandise.

Damn straight.

I actually never even go there, too expensive. (or is it? im not sure)

It varies.

The real issue is poor stock, they rarely have anything worth buying.

i remember when i was younger 14ish and went to blockbuster cause of the animu. they didn't much and soon i had gone through all their stuff. i am not sure how much anime they have now. i should probably check.

Which is why online stores like Play-Asia or Amazon.jp helps the west's 'good fans' get their goods.

I only have no problem when it comes to buying software and books online.

As for more expensive and delicate consumer goods such as figurines and the occasional art materials, I feel more at ease after inspecting or testing them as allowed in big stores like Animate or Gamers.

I can merely smolder with jealousy instead?

Also, my order arrived, yay me!

Promptly tore open the Haruhi box (very fancy artbox with little doors on it, coated in fantastic illustrations and loaded with storage space), dug the DVD, pencilboard, iron-on patch (which I'm putting on one of my black workshirts) and golden headband (which I wore for a few seconds until I realized how ridiculous it made my Spike Spiegel-ish hair look) out of the top compartment and struggled to free my "Hare Hare Yukai" CD single from its little sub-drawer. All the bonuses are top-quality and well-worth the extra dough.

I've yet to watch the DVD (or my Kashimashi disc I also ordered), but I shall make a point of doing that soon. I'm just not in any mood to watch the dub (a problem Kashimashi does not have, since it is a sub-only disc).

The first limited edition only has one disc (a bilingual one), it's the other limited editions (volumes two to four) that have seperate discs for the English (chronological order) and Japanese (broadcast order).

Also, tell me where did you order this from?

Robert's Anime Corner, same shop that sent me my Akane statue and Urusei Yatsura DVDs.

Well Robert's Anime Corner, if you were paying attention, is a website.

http://www.animecornerstore.com/

So far, the Devil May Cry anime is average, though it is only 2 episodes in. A character that is in debt, and keeps doing jobs for money, yet inevitably falls back into even more debt...not something all that original.

But he is fucking Dante Sparda! He can eat all the strawberry sundaes he wants!

Not unless it was in the the 3rd or upcoming 4th game. In the first two it does a short opening scene then goes right into the action...with no real time for stopping in town to get some strawberry ice cream.

He also seems to really like pizza with olive oil and other stuff on it. The games didn't exactly cover a lot of his day-to-day life.

*Facepalm*

Working condition? How in the hell am I supposed to check packaged SOFTWARE for functionality without opening the box and running it on its respective machine online or in an actual store?

Read my post carefully, I was referring to checking the quality of figurines most likely hand-painted/sprayed and how 'right' does a pen feel when I draw/write with it.

Also got any recommendations other then Air Harofreak?

If you need one, I suggest you hunt the comic version of Outlaw Star. This, of course, applies to everyone victimsed by the watered down version (i.e. Animated).

Either he still fails at reading or he's still making things up in his head.

Moot point, but the only exceptions to said figurines go to those only picked out 'by chance' (similar to the plastic-ball variety Gashapon) unlike expensive figurines with a clear plastic covering to preview or sold as-is and only packed with styrofoam or similar protective covering.

Hell, I still to this day ask the clerk at any given store if I can open randomly boxed figures for the sake of avoiding disappointment, to this day I've yet to have one refuse me that privelidge.

That said, I've only ever bought a randomly boxed figure maybe thrice in my entire lifetime...

Do they run the "Full Set" sales in Canada (like in Hong Kong and Japan, where they sell a full set at a higher price)?

It varies from store to store. Most stores do not have complete sets of anything, and those that do don't always offer the whole set for a lump sum, it's individual purchases or nothing.

Well, that's a shame. But only because said country gets their items from non-wholesales and therefore are expensive to begin with, no?

But compared to online store prices, which is more expensive (excluding shipping and handling)?

Once again, varies from shop to shop, and further varies by level of interest.

Diggers (the old, and now out of business, comic shop) used to wholesale order all of their products, contrary to Sydney Games, which only does wholesale orders on TCGs and recently released action figures (DVDs, manga, statues and other items are either carry-over from personal collections or ordered individuallly, causing high prices and limited stock).

At the moment, compared to online pricing, Sydney Games is raping the competition.

They've got this glorious 1/8 scale Asuka for $32.95 CAD, J-List has the same one for around$42.99 USD plus shipping (which would make it $60 or so CAD at minimum).

The one problem the store has....DVD pricing. $34.95 for a volume of Hellsing is obscene.

When I used to stay in Vancouver over 12 years ago, I remember many 'shabby' looking stores which usually sell items for good prices compared to chain stores. Do they still exist in good numbers today, or have they all been pushed out of business by now?

I take it that despite its size, there is a reasonably sized market for these kind of goods no less.

Was it an import, or a localised release?
